why doesn't my smart living steam jr steam button not working?
Hello, I purchased a smart living steamer 5 months ago, I can not use it on my floors...very difficult to push and pull it, my husband even said it’s difficult to use. What could be the problem?
Fill the plastic bottle with water and put some of vinegar. It is for wooden floor.
Why is it hard to push when cleaning?
Hi William,
I have the same issue and it begun when I started using the Smart Living replacement pads. It would be good if they could use a different material. i.e. the same as the originals.
Regards Rod
I have a Smart Living Steam mop which is about 6 years old and I love it. this morning when I went to use it it won't turn on. I would say the on off lever is the problem. Where can I take it to repair or is it not worth repairing ? where could I buy another one ??
I would not bother repairing it. You can buy one online from smart living.
I saw your comment I have the same problem it has been doing it since I bought your product To buy another one so we pay big money almost 400 Canadian to throw it away and buy another one Seriously are you for real? Why make a product you can repair and spend that kinda of money
Can it be used on wood floors?
Yes, it works well on wooden floors and it leaves less water marks than most other steam mops we have tried.
Where can I buy the replacement microfibre pads in Australia?
Ebay, Amazon or cheaper from the USA.
Where do I find the serial number?
my steamer is not steaming, it gets hot but steam does not come through nozzle, what can I do?
Try running a mixture of 50% vinegar to clean deposits that may have built up inside the heating element. Especially if you were like us and did not always use distilled water. After a few cycles this resolved problem with more steam coming each time as the deposits coating the inside we’re dissolved.
how often should I change the pad?
what do I use the green fluffy mop pad on?
Best way to clean reusable pads?
I usually rinse them initially to get the worst of the dirt off, then wash them in my washing machine. they do stay grubby looking though.
Why does it leave water streaks everywhere?
I too had this problem. Seems like the steam just doesn't get hot enough.
The steam it produces is not very hot coming out of the nozzle. any ideas?
I had same problem - sorry I have no idea on what to do.
Hums loud enough to hear, but does not produce any steam. Any ideas?
Hi, I believe you will find that the mop internals have furred up, you can try white vinegar in a 20% water 80% solution but I think you need a descale, by taking the unit apart taking a video of the dismantle cleaning all the internals with white vinegar and returning them it now works but it is still a poor unit.
Discaling solution only. No vinegar. Mine works fine i love it. 5 years i have been using mine. Godfreys sell it.
I used the vinegar solution and let the machine run for about 10-15 minutes. Then unplugged it. My husband poked the hole in the middle of the mop. And it blew off whatever it is thats clogging it. BEWARE OF STEAM. I advise to let it cool down before poking. Then I run the machine again just to finish off the remaining vinegar solution in the tank. I hope this can help
Why would it stop making steam but still get hot?
Its blocked you need to buy a discaler from godfreys. Make sure when discaling do it outside it makes a loud scary noise. I use filtered water in mine to prevent it blocking because our water makes it block with time. Im happy with mine and works well.
My mop has been used 3 times and today it cannot get the oomph to send steam through. What can I do? Is there something I can do to fix this??
As SmartLiving are no help whatsoever, just an importer. I watched YoUTube and found that the cause of this issue is the water ferrous the inside of teh unit, the fix is everytimwe you use the device a solution of 1 part white vinegar to 25 parts water should be used.
However, I first had to free up the steam mop that required taking it apart and soaking the parts in White Vinegar then reassemble I have been able to use the device now for a further year but very poor quality device.
Hope that helps.
I just bought one of these. They told me to only use distilled water in it. I had another steamer before but i did not use distilled water and i killed it.
