Don't use this company
Twice in one week no body has shown up for the pick up time quoted, they don't book on time and now i have to wait another day. not good at all had to get time of work now 3 times this week and my boss is mad if i get the sack look out
Their service is pretty bad.
As a sender, I scheduled a time for my parcel to be picked up based on smartsend's online form. Jan 2 12am-4pm. The item was not picked up during this period. I raised a ticket with their help desk to follow it up. They automatically rescheduled a pickup for the next day for a time I was not home and then charged me $25 "futile fee" for not being there. After sending through countless emails to their support desk I kept getting a standard response of "you have a futile fee attached". Even though it was their mistake that the item was rebooked f...or pick up. Not a great experience and although their help desk is very prompt at replying their responses are designed to give away zero information and there is absolutely no way you can actually talk to someone directly over the phone.
What a Rort
I sent a bicycle using Smart Send from Gold Coast to Melbourne, the carrier was StarTrack. The pick up and delivery went without a hitch. Two weeks after the delivery I received an email from Smart Send saying that the dimensions I had quoted were incorrect so I needed to pay an extra $14, unless I could prove that they wrong. Unfortunately my son had scrapped the box I sent the bicycle in so I have no of knowing what the actual dimensions were, but I know I am correct. Smart Send say that they have to believe StarTrack. StarTrack will not talk to me. What an absolute rort! I was not SMART sending my package with Smart Send.
Lost in transit
Goods were purchased on 10 Dec through an Ebay store, ETA 13-16 Dec. It is now 20 Dec and no goods, with the SmartSend contact repeatedly stating they are looking for the package at the depot. For 3 days.
Under Australian Consumer Law consumers are entitled to Services which are:
-Fit for purpose
-Performed with due skill
-Conducted in specified time (or a reasonable timeframe)
Not quite sure how many of those conditions have been met during this transaction, considering that the service has not provided the goods, the company has not provided...

Keep damaging my goods and never give a refund.
I'm the sender and this company damaged my goods 3 times and each time they refuse to refund. I am an eBay seller and sell goods for $90 and cant buy insurance for $100 which they offer that does not make sense. It is just not nice really. They can offer at least something for 3 times.

If you value your reputation and your business this is the last company you should use for your parcels.
Problem every time. Provide solution never!
I cannot recall a single items we sent over the last 6 months that we did not have to follow up with at least a single email or call.
They break items, lose items, forget to pick up. Every single mistake under the sun and their staff will always come back with an excuse to put the blame on you.
Right now after completely losing some packages, damaging others they have completely stopped responded to us.
Most Incompetent Courier Company Ever Avoid At All Costs
My parcel was picked up in Rosebud, Victoria three weeks ago and only needed to travel 120+ km's to Hidden Valley, Victoria 3756. The parcel was sent to Hidden Valley, NT, even though the parcel clearly states Hidden Valley, Victoria 3756. The senders and my phone number are listed on the label, if Smart Send were unsure, all they needed to do was call one of us to confirm details. [name removed] (Smart Send) has advised my parcel would be delivered within 48 to 72 hours several times, totally fake and makes Smart Send look incompetent. Sma...rt Send still do not know where the parcel is, or when this parcel will be delivered and NOW blame Christmas for the delay. I will not use this company ever again, they have no idea what they are doing. [name removed] their Director states 'more parcels do go missing this time of year'. How parcels being tracked can go missing is beyond me.

Don't waste your time with this company. They suck. And have terrible customer service. They don't have a phone number if anything goes wrong either just don't use their service or lack of service really
Extra costs come after delivery
Have been using smartsend for years without any issue , lately have been getting hit with extra charges.Beware sending items without taking a picture of the item with the consignment label and a tape measure showing the sizes , otherwise they send another invoice for payment in my case $48 turned into $100 for a 70cm plastic wheel cover that weighed 5kg .Oh and the other thing is ...... they measured and dont supply any proof of sizes, nice little money maker system going on there ! Not so smart to use smart send and after this last drama , wont be using or recommending them , courier is always out of time slot as well, another reason to avoid smart send
Do not send with this organisation as they have no idea or control over your delivery!
Was my parcel sent on time? It never arrived. Was it supplied with accurate and helpful tracking info? They have no control over the parcel as a forwarding agent. Gone!
Terrible pickup rate by smartsend
Ive given up using smartsend as a courier. Time and time again my parcels dont get collected and their excuse is the courier must be running late and never shows. There Are no checks on their end to ensure u attended pickups and I always have to reschedule bookings. Not good service when u have customers needing items.

I bought a $1000 guitar online through Cash Converters.
They booked shipment through Smart Send. 2 weeks later and no sign of the guitar and no communication about its whereabouts or explanation for delay. No ability to track through a tracking number and no phone number. Really annoyed at the lack of professionalism and responsibility.
Terrible service and Im out $1000.

Package states due to be delivered 4 days ago, the package went from Sydney to nowra... Past wollongong where I live. After contacting the company they say will be here today. No phone number to talk to someone. Now they want descriptions ect which indicates they don't know where it is.
Warning- Customer service worst I have ever used
* Job booked via Smartsend website last Friday for a Monday pickup
* Website allowed pickup location selection and I paid as part of the booking process.
* THe pickup window they allow their drivers is 4 hours. Between 12 midday and 4pm. Plenty of time.
* I contacted the business at the pickup address because they close at 2pm. They generously offered to leave a staff member there for two hours longer than closing time specifically to wait for the courier and hand him the package.
* Monday arrives and every hour from midday I contacted the pick...
Somehow missed a delivery even though I was home.
They sent an email to the sender (?) saying a card had been left in the mailbox - no card was in the mailbox.
Then asked for a redelivery and was told it would take two days. Why??
Then asked if I could pick it up asap and they said it would take 24 hours to organise a pickup.
Horrible customer service, get answered by a new person on every message.
Avoid at all costs - this company will not last with customer service like this.

Picked up Monday am Sunny Coast delivered Tues am Sydney--wow how good is that --tracking system superb - they just get better

Never had a problem.
I've used Smart Send numerous times without issue. Well priced. Another reviewer stated they took a day off work to wait for the parcel and lost 8 hours pay. They then stated it was left at the door a day early. So why take a day off work. The complaint was that they also left an expensive item at the door. They will not do this if signature pickup is required, they will leave a note for pickup at the local post office. Great service and always within the specified time. I've sent many expensive guitars.
Wouldn't Use Again Too Unreliable
Have used Smart Send many times, started off ok but the last two times have been a disaster. Courier didn't show up at all the last two times, can't call so is difficult dealing with their email system. All their staff reply back instead of one person taking ownership, all over the shop with customer service.

Why is it that as a receiving customer I have tracking information but then it keeps saying 'Could not deliver today, will deliver tomorrow' 'Your parcel is with Fast way courier and ready for delivery' then has full name, address and phone number as the 'company info. I call that number thinking it's the courier but ends up just being a normal person who is also waiting on a delivery??
