Job Tracking #427640. I dropped my car off at the Alice Springs depot 2/11 there was issues finding my booking but after contacting SMB it was sorted quickly and professionally. I received an email within 10minutes of the phone call with transit information. So far I have been really happy with the service I have received from SMB. Will update once I collect my vehicle in Sydney on the transit time and on any delays.
Update 1 - I have checked the link I was emailed and can see my vehicle is going to be in Adelaide in the next few days around the 14/11.
DON'T USE SMB
Ute arrived with extensive damage. Tray Canopy and body damaged, scratches on body, rear light marked,driver side window wind deflector missing, excessive amount of chips on the damaged canopy from apparently the wind. Transport my vehicle from Sydney 30/8/23 to Perth arriving 20/9/23 given 1-2 days.
It is now 15/10/23 and no vehicle.
I was not once notified of the delays.
3 delays and all delays not once notified.
I was very patient after I called the 1st time to confirm it was arriving on the expected date, to be told it would be another week before I receive vehicle.
2nd time I called expecting it to be arriving on the expected delayed date also to confirm that there was no issues, to find out it was still in the yard(wth)... They don’t open today, and yet I do not know if it is in Perth. I will have to wait till Monday 17/10/23 to find out if my vehicle is in Perth. No compensation for the 10 business day delay, I have had to hire vehicles to get to work as I been working nights. I was trying to refrain myself from writing a review like this and only giving 1 star, but enough is enough. Take it as a positive and lessons learnt on where and how to improve .

SMB clearly state stone chip damage is not covered under their insurance policy whilst your car is being transported on their open side trucks, SO don't presume like I did this may indicate a few chips here or there, my brand new car that went straight from the dealer to SMB depot Alice Springs obtained more than 230 stone chips coming across to Sydney, I'm now out of pocket thousands to get it repaired, if you care about your car pay that slight bit extra and use company who will respect your property and most importantly has mesh sided transporters. By far the worst experience I have had with a car transport company, transporting from Adelaide to Darwin, the car took 2 months to arrive not the 15 working days. When I rang to question it the delivery date was pushed back 5 times with no explanation, after pushing I found out my car had still not left Adelaide 4 weeks after being dropped off at the depot. No offer to reimburse and was like pulling teeth to speak to someone who had a clue what they were talking about. It was then dropped off chipped and dirty left in a non branded car scrap yard with the keys in the ignition unlocked!!! no paperwork or ID checks to pick it up. Completely unsafe and unprofessional. Terrible Experience with SMB Transport - Unreliable and Dishonest!
I cannot express enough how disappointed and frustrated I am with my experience with SMB Transport. They have proven themselves to be an utterly unreliable and dishonest company, and I strongly advise everyone to stay away from their services.

Terrible, crashed my car, not even apologetic
Had the worst experience with this company. Not only did I receive the car 3 months later that expected, one of their drivers crashed my car into another, then were not the slightest bit apologetic (direct quote - they said, “these things happen”). It took forever to get the car back becaus they were tying to get out of paying for it. Poor communication and zero customer service. Useless.... Read more
Terrible service no communication
Transport of a car from Melbourne to Perth took 6 weeks, not 15 working days. There was no communication from the company ,all follow up on the situation was instigated by me. The date of arrival changed three times with lame excuses including we are coping with a backlog, to fires in WA that were nowhere near Perth. Very poor organisation and business ethic. I was told that the car was stored under cover but I would question this as it was very dirty on arrival. Because I had such a negative experience I would not recommend this company at all.... Very slow with no communication
Extremely slow. Took over a month to transport the vehicle when it was estimated at 5-10 business days. I had two cars sent from Adelaide to Brisbane. One that was not running I sent with another company, that turned up 3 weeks before the one sent with snb transport. Had no communication from snb and when I received my car it was very dirty, broken door handle, dead battery. When I finally got to pick up the vehicle, an employee told me how she had sent photos of my vehicle to strangers while it was at the depot. Do not use this company, I wish I had read the reviews before booking. It's been more than 6 weeks and I still don't have my car. They keep changing the date without taking any ownership. I'll be lodging a complaint with the ACCC . Companies like this should not be operating.... Read more

Can SMB please confirm that my vehicle (Job no.420256) will be in Melbourne on Friday 14th July? I have been given three dates and none have eventuated. Can I pick up the vehicle from Melbourne depot on 14th July?
Trying to find out if my ranger ute has arrived in Adelaide as yet.
I have had no communication regarding my ute.
My job number is 41847.
Could someone please get back to me as I have to travel 350kms to collect it and need to know if it has arrived in Adelaide.

Do yourself a favour and pay a little bit extra if you love your car. Do not go with this organisation. They are reckless and there is absolutely nothing You can do once the car is damaged. I am still waiting on Insurance to complete the process to repair $20,000 worth of damage to my classic Camaro. I was tricked into believing they would take extra care of it and got it back with damage everywhere
It took a month to get car from Adelaide to Brisbane. Then arrived covered in dirt and broken door handle.
They will not give you update on where it is and just tell you it’s in transit lol
I sent heaps of emails and called heaps over 2 weeks,to be told it’s in transit. But I found out it hadn’t even left Adelaide.

Regarding the other feedback mentioned, please note that it is clearly mentioned in our terms and conditions that vehicles older than 20 years are not insured by SMB Australia. This is not something that we hide from our customers.
Additionally, as our carriers travel across several kilometers in an open environment, it is natural for the vehicles to accumulate dirt and dust. Please be informed that we do not offer detailing services. As for the broken door handle, the procedure is to go through support so they can investigate into this.
