Is the coating toxic

We still have our S+N Saute Pan. It must be about 6 or so years old I guess. We don't use it that often, but the coating is still great. Just really warped, that's all. I heard the key with coated pans is to heat them up a bit at a time. Don't just throw them straight onto maximum heat. We now try to avoid using them really hot. We just go as high as we need.

If you're looking for good, non-toxic pans, I can recommend the Cuisinepro Swiss+Tec range. We got one from House recently and love it. "PTFE and PFOA chemical free". Pricier, but hopefully it lasts and won't poison us.
