Do not use this company. DO NOT BUY. Regrettably we live in a country and in an era where bulls**t tops truth and shoddiness tops quality. $4000 worth of a budget line of carpet for our newly purchased townhouse in Ballarat. OK not your Westminster or even Axminster of old. A budget line of carpet to be sure, more of a LDV than a Toyota. However it was only after some two or three weeks that we discovered that the boundary of the carpet as laid was peppered with small nails, painfully noticeable when walking barefoot, as one is want to do on occasions. I rang Solomons to report this issue. And I was told ' they all do this maam ' Now one of the benefits of being a Baby Boomer, along with the ability to read and write, is that we do have a history with carpet. I think I got carpet put down in my first home in 1973. And since then probably a dozen further times. My nonsense detector turned red. However I was prepared to exercise the benefit of the doubt. Yet the problem persisted. In fact it got worse. I called a second time three weeks later only to be told the same nonsense but this time I was told to use a hammer or mallet to squash the nails down. Hmmm. They did not tell me that when I purchased the carpet I would need to have DIY hammer skills. The third time I called I was told that the carpet layer, ' [Name Removed] ' would call me. Yeh, sure. Of course he never did. I am taking this disgraceful situation further. Let's hope that the owner's of Solomons, Carpet Call , really do come calling on this franchisee. In my opinion, if you are a Ballarat local and Fair Dinkum Aussie who believes in the values of integrity, honesty and quality then DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

We recently ordered and had fitted wool carpet from Solomon's Kawana, and could not be more happy with the whole process. Solomon's was the only carpet quoter to actually bring samples after having listened to our preferences, which meant we did not have to take a trip to the store, as we found a suitable sample immediately. promptly on the day, and was very friendly and professional, and did a beautiful job on fitting the lounge/dining area and a flight of stairs. Highly recommended, and would not hesitate to use them again.

Caution Do Not Waste Your Time with Solomons at Brendale QLD – I had the misfortune to use Solomons at Brendale to recarpet/vinyl my property. The property was empty and had a total interior repaint at a considerable cost and the final issue was to recarpet/vinyl the property to finish the renovation. the interior painting had been finished and after Solomons carpet layers had finished laying the carpet, the damage to the property/paintwork was considerable. Two door frames, one wall and three doors were damaged requiring a total repaint.

Solomons at Brendale refused to acknowledge that their carpet layers had caused the damage, so I am off to the Department of Fair Trading.

All I can say in my experience with them, go elsewhere and avoid them and I wish I would have read this review forum first.

of weeks. This was not true. Communication was poor (from parent company). Took months to arrange, and only because we persisted, but always felt they weren't interested. I wouldn't go near any Solomons flooring store because of this experience (nor the parent company).

Never again! – Terrible communication with customers. Carpet laying quality is poor with lumps and waves in the material. Edges along the stair not finished nicely. Join in pieces of carpet visible. No underlay underneath the open tread stairs leaving a visible difference in the level of floor. Nail spikes protruding from carpet grab strip into ajoining room. Constantly jabbing my barefeet. Surprisingly good customer service – They attended our home and helped us match an existing carpet that came with the house at a reasonable costing. They really went above and beyond on their own initiative. Dishonest and Unethical – Tried to purchase carpet from Solomons MacGregor and have never come across a more unethical and dishonest Sales person as I had at this store. Great service and the floors look fantastic – We were really happy with the end-to-end experience. The service in store at Belconnen was friendly. We received our quote and follow up emails quickly. Not the professional installation – After the installation of the carpet, the workers didn’t try again whether the wardrobe door can open or close, just told that couldn’t put back as the original place due to the door was too long and will made the carpet scrolled. Really not the professional attitude, just asked to find the handyman to cut the door down , but actually it didn’t need to cut. My mum dealt with Ajmal and he could not have been helpful with the carpet selection, the price was the best of the quotes, and the carpet selected is great. Never again – Booked, agreed to terms. At point of purchase all was good. Nice sales team and signed up. Layer arrived on time all was good. A large area todo. Not real impressed with the job and a large scuff mark down the wall confirms a roll of carpet is heavy. I understand that was accidental. after themselves think again. Fluff and small offcuts everywhere. I cant believe they didnt at least throw the vacuum over the job when finished to make it presentable but that's on me, they never did say they would clean up after themselves. Guess I assumed incorrectly. But it got worse. We were told all strips/joins/ramps etc were included in the price. Was told the layer was going to report that he didnt have stock with him. Fair enough, it happens, someone would be in touch right ? Well wrong actually, had to annoy them over a couple of weeks to finish the job. Constantly told someone would be in touch but never happened until I pestered them over a couple of weeks. They had full payment by this stage. Credit to Tanya because it just wasn't happening until she got involved After annoying them for a couple of weeks they did come finish the job and everything was included as promised but was so annoyed in the end about broken promises, lack of communication that I will never go back. pushy. Sharp practice – their business acumen is waging on sharp practice. They want you to pay 100% up front, and pushy sales. Not sure I would use them again. Not the best communication either - it went from being 'plenty of stock' at quotation to 'not much around' when it came to order, so the advice was not constant.
