Waited 4 weeks for glasses, the script was wrong and couldnt wear them. Returned them and was told eye sight change all the time, mind you within a week!!! They replaced them with another pair, the scipt was also wrong, hence, I could never wear them. $500 later and still no glasses. They are a sham. Show details

Been with specsavers for over 10 years. My first issue with a pair of glasses and appalling customer service at the Westfield Geelong store. I purchased a pair of glasses less than 18 months ago and have had to have them fixed 3 times due to pin falling out. Pin snapped and specsavers response! Sorry it's out of warranty.

I purchased glasses and my glasses are still like new condition and I purchased them around two or three years ago. The paint on the frame has peeled off and Specsavers Blacktown have refused to repair or replace the frame.

***DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE - UNSAFE PRACTICE*** My 17-year-old daughter went to the Brookside store to get her eyes checked by herself. To our horror she was advised she has a tumor behind her eye and NOT ONCE did the optometrist say, is it ok if we call your parents as this is serious. The optometrist wrote on a Specsavers business card… Read more

and said go and see an eye specialist in the valley, also this so-called medical professional didn't even have the courtesy of writing down what she thought her condition was or print out a letter. **UPDATE** After urgent checks at the Mater hospital and also the Mater eye clinic - NO Tumor was found at all. Specsavers you put us through absolute HELL! - A formal complaint has been made to Qld Heath, I will keep this post updated.

Urgently needed new spectacles when the arm broke a few days before leaving for an interstate wedding. The Specsavers store were fantastic, arranging contact lenses in short timeframe. I also purchased an emergency pair of glasses during Black Friday Sale as backup set. 2year quality warranty & a proud partner with Fred Hollows Foundation which I have supported for 40+ years. Show details

Having purchased glasses at Specsavers for the past four years I will never ever go there again. I would luckily and happily pay $1000 per pair to OPSM to not deal with Specsavers ever again at Coomera. Arguing with the customer when they are right just to have an invalid point or to make a stand is a very immature position for a business owner and manager . Show details

Specsavers spectacles used to be reliable. The quality of the frames are useless. Both my wifes and my own frames have broken at the hinge, and get this! They wont replace them. Have bought framea and glasses from Specsavers for years, but their quality has been lost. Will never buy Specsavers glasses again and I will be presenting my case to Fair Trading. Absolutely horrible customer service experience. I brought my glasses in for a simple clean, and during the process my frame was damaged when a screw broke. Instead of taking responsibility professionally, the staff member, [Name Removed], gave… Read more

confusing and inconsistent explanations about whether the age of the frame caused the issue.

When I asked reasonable follow-up questions about whether I should replace the frame to avoid further damage, I was spoken to dismissively and told that I “shouldn’t ask questions” and that it was a “st^pid question.” I was repeatedly talked over during the conversation and made to feel uncomfortable for trying to understand what had happened to my glasses.

I have requested that Specsavers cover the repair costs and send the glasses to the Albany store as discussed. If this is not resolved as promised, I will continue escalating the matter through Specsavers customer care and head office.

Very disappointed with both the handling of my glasses and the way I was treated as a customer. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this store.

Follow-up  · The head office was great. They didn’t tell me how the dealt with the complaint internally, but they apologised and gave me a voucher. They head office customer service has been amazing.

DON'T go to Specsavers !!! I returned with a complaint that I could see better with my old glasses. The Optometrist could not have cared less and made no effort to help me. Now I have to go to a better place to get the glasses my eyes require. Thanks for nothing. A waste of my money.

Been a customer with SS all my life that I can remember and spent many thousands on glasses on their recommendation, each time.. They have always been amazing and I have sent so many people there. that I can have my prescription changed using these brand new frames, after my eyes were corrected with surgery. I didn't want to buy the frames until after surgery but I was conned into getting them while they were on special and told it will be no extra cost to have the script changed using these same new frame until I went to do it, not even a years down track.

I was told that I had to purchase 2 brand new frames in order to get the new prescription. I went back 3 times and they rejected my brand new frames which I got from them.

Never again and never will I send anybody there for this reason, only. It has made me feel used and abused financially and these glasses have never been used due to the surgery I had to have after SS referred me to a private specialist the day they sold me expensive glasses.

I visited Specsavers at Robina in Queensland. The optometrist that saw me told me I had macular degeneration.I asked her what I needed to do and she explained to me nothing that could be done. I just gradually go blind. Receiving this information I went into a deep state of depression and then I spoke to my doctor and she said go to a specialist.… Read more

The Specialist has explained to me that I don’t have macular degeneration at all. I actually have cataracts. The difference between macular degeneration and cataracts is enormous cataracts can be operated on and quickly repaired Having received this information I decided to get a third opinion because I was so rattled by the Specsavers woman so I went to another Specialist. Both the Specialist visits were a great expense to me and the second Specialist also said no macular degeneration I do have cataracts. With all this information in mind I have made it my business to let everyone cross parts with no never to go to a Specsavers store regardless of what service they want. Very unprofessional and sending somebody off with a diagnosis of your you’ll just gradually go blind is disgusting. That woman should’ve suggested I go and see a specialist instead of giving me this diagnosis that she had no right to do as she obviously isn’t trained to do that.

I was thoroughly disappointed and upset today when I went to pick up my glasses from Specsavers Warrnambool. I ordered the 2 for 1 deal. Just reading glasses!! Reading glasses not prescription. Professional Misconduct, Scaremongering, and Aggressive Behavior I have been a loyal customer of the Charlestown Specsavers store for years, but I will never return. I went in for new reading glasses—specifically for reading, cooking, computer use, and my mobile phone—as my old glasses were damaged. The optometrist failed to listen, telling me he… Read more

"couldn't give me lenses for all that" and that I "had to choose," so he gave them to me for mobile phone use. I am a lady in my 50s who works on a computer and cooks; reading on my phone is what I do the least. He ignored my concerns and told me to keep wearing my old, scratched glasses for everything else.

The glasses I received were lopsided, uncomfortable, and caused a dull ache at the back of my eyes with "fishbowl" distortion.

When I followed up, the manager/owner claimed I had "severely degenerative astigmatism." This was frightening to hear, especially as the optometrist had told me my eyes hadn't changed much. When I went back for a refund, the manager was passive-aggressive. He shouted across the store for me to come over, then pointed and told me to "sit."

He then demanded my bank and BSB details, claiming he couldn't refund the original Visa card. I had to call my husband numerous times, and when he eventually answered, he gave me the bank and Visa details over the phone. However, the owner then took my credit card from the desk without my permission and suddenly processed the refund immediately—proving he didn't actually need the bank details after all. My husband could hear him in the background over the phone being abusive, banging on the keyboard, and grunting.

I have since realized my eyes are not "severely degenerative." My clinical documents explicitly state: "Old SVN are ok for computer use." When I asked him to explain the discrepancy, he raised his voice, waving his arm toward the door, and told me to "leave the store." I felt physically intimidated and overwhelmed. As someone with underlying health issues, being scaremongered about my vision to cover for a poor product is completely unacceptable.

Specsavers Midland WA. Have been going here for years but no more. Last year was given incorrect prescription and had to have glasses remade. Today I try to ring for advice only to find a robotic answering system, none of whose options fitted my needs. Then kept on hold for ages. Was asked to put in my number for a call back and it refused to take it and hung up. Had enough. Going elsewhere. Show details

I went there 12 months ago for my eye test because I wanted to take advantage of their eyeglasses specials which I did. slides in front of my eyes and demanded I report the responses even when I wasn’t sure . He was very rude and wanted a very quick response every single time . He needs to calm down more and give the clients a bit more time . He treated me exactly the same 12 months ago !I thought he might not act the same this time so that’s why I gave him the benefit of the doubt( against my better judgement ) I very gently and kindly said, ‘ you’ve got to be more patient with us older people’ I had to say it twice but it didn’t seem to register at all . I think he’s like that with everyone anyway not just older people. Very rushy and pushy and wouldn’t give me time. It’s a very important thing to do to get your eye test results right for your next set of glasses and he just wasn’t interested in doing the right and comfortable thing for me .

Dealt with specsavers for a long time... Today they lost not just me but the family. Recently broke my glasses and went back to specsavers to see if they can be fixed. chose as they were discontinued. So I engaged with Fountain gate who did have the exact same frames which seemed great however they wanted to charge me full price as they would cost with the lenses despite I didn't need the lenses just the frame. I know factually the frames are cheap just $20 to $30 dollars yet here spec savers Fountain Gate were ONLY willing to sell them to me full price $159.00 which is the same price as if I was to order them with brand new lenses. Disgusting service from the manager. Did not want to understand. She was only happy to try to price gauge me to pay full price for a 20 dollar frame. Congratulations Specsavers on your pathetic manner to con your supposed long lasting customers into a wraught. As for me all glasses bought from spec savers will be disposed of. Specsavers name will most definitely be tarnished every opportunity I will have to do so... Clap clap clap

I went to specsavers because my glasses, 10 months old and costing me almost $500 after health fund rebate because they were multifocal/transition/lighter lens broke. 11. Consequentially they weren't repaired, they were adjusted so I was back the next day, got a repair but they were very uncomfortable so back I went again and this time I was left sitting waiting for over 20 minutes. I walked out. I went home and did what I never thought I would do and ordered glasses online, 1/3rd of the cost of Specsavers. They arrived and were fantastic so I ordered a pair of multifocals. I didn't like the frame Id chosen on these when they arrived, they weren't a good fit. I wrote to the online store and with in a day they had sorted for me to have a replacement pair - no dirty looks like a specsavers, no sighing at being asked to fix anything - just -choose yourself another pair. Very hard to go back to supersavers after this. They need to up their game. Both in the frames they offer (boring) the price of the glasses and the extras (it was cheaper to buy online even though I didn't get my health fund rebate) and the service.
