Have been going to specsavers Cranbourne for a number of years now. I Bought two pairs of glasses from them in February, within 3 months the arm came off one pair. Went back they replaced the frame no problems. Approximately 3 months later the arm came off again, back to the store. All they can do is replace the frame apparently. So they did. In another three or so months same thing happened. back to the store and this time I complained. Including the initial choosing and pick up, 6 visits to the store for the same pair of...
Never ending drama
Never ending drama - purchased my first pair glasses in January, within a month the arm came off - had repaired at a cost to me -approximately 2 months later same thing happened went back but those glasses were no longer available so at the same cost I had to pick a new pair - I have just had the arm of the new pair come off. Funny I have a $20 pair from cheap shop I use every time a pair break which are 2 years old and have never had a problem.
Fantastic service at Nepean Centro store
I went into spec savers at Nepean Centro store in Penrith today to get my sunglasses fixed. The lovely young guy that assisted me really went the extra mile to ensure I was looked after and received excellent service. He was just so nice. In my opinion he went over and above to help me out and wished me a great weekend. Honestly, it made me feel really special to receive such good customer service. Spec savers are indeed lucky to have such a great staff member as customers are also. Im disappointed in myself for not catching his name as I would love to thank him personally but anyway...great service! Thank you so much.
Excellent Service, Selection and Staff
What a great experience we had at Specsavers at Bateau Bay today.
It was fun going through the range of products and finding the best for both of us.
We also had a comprehensive eye exam which was professionally conducted.
Brad was our service provider this day and we have to say that he makes the process a breeze...and he's very competent and personable.
This experience just reaffirmed our decision to always go to Specsavers.
I have dedicated my life to the Australian Defence Force, defending the people of Australia, fighting for what we believe in. Unfortunately I was injured and have now become a Veteran with full medical cover with DVA. This however is not recognised by Specsavers in Castle Towers NSW. THEY CHOOSE NOT TO LOOK AFTER VETERANS.
Please avoid this centre if you believe veterans should be treated as worthy Australians.
I would have scored it no stars however unless you give them at least 1 they won't review.
Don't waste your time and money!
If you want your glasses sooner rather than later, then go elsewhere! Also there is no guarantee that it will be the prescription that they misled you to believe it would be! They will try to hit you up for more money after the fact!
To their credit, there was no problem receiving a refund, although I am now without my original lenses that they removed to fit the new lenses (they removed them as well) as they were nowhere to be found (funny that). Lesson learnt the hard way! You will find the lenses you need for less elsewhere!
After an operator error from Gladstone specsavers we had been left in a position of serious worry wondering what was around the corner. After a trip to Brisbane with the specialist $615, 1200k worth of fuel, two days off work we where told our son was perfect. After asking specsavers for some kind of compensation we where told that the machine that specialist used was of a better quality even after the fact they admitted it was operator error. Hopefully no other family has to experience what we did due to OPERATOR error.
I recently went in to our local Specsavers outlet in Warragul for an eye test that Id booked online. To say I was impressed by the whole process was an understatement. All staff were wonderful, i found the range of glasses satisfactory, I then picked my glasses, two days later I picked them up and now Im wearing them. I could not fault a thing and am disappointed by so many negative reviews when my experience was nothing but positive!
2 for one specials are a scam
I bought 2 pairs for the price of one. One was from the 2 for $199 range, one was 2 for $249. Total price was $599. They said the 2 for deal doesn't include the lenses. Like anyone is going to go in there and buy 2 frames. False advertising. Simple as that
Extremely bad quality - illegal standard of UV protection for sale in Australia!!!
I have always used up any outstanding health fund credit at the end of financial year by just getting two pairs no gap. No illusions that the quality of the frames is atrocious. I go back in every time I visit the Sunshine Plaza to get them resized as they are so enormous and stretch so much they just fall off your head constantly but better crappy frames with no gap in my pocket than leaving the money in the health fun. BUT I recently went to my normal Optometrist for a check up and happened to have my sunglasses with me. They checked the UV p...rotection of the lenses and have confirmed that they are in fact a level of protection ILLEGAL TO SELL IN AUSTRALIA!!!! I was then advised that I am beginning to get nodules on my eyes from UV exposure!!! How on earth they can get away with this is unbelievable! They are purchased to protect you and are in fact doing more damage than good!
Quality has gone out the door
I have used and been happy with some savers for a number of years. however the last lot of glasses I got were not great. I can see the quality of the frames is much lower, they are all just a little bit smaller now (presumably to make them cheaper). I have had my glasses adjusted a number of times since brand new as they do not sit correctly. My regular glasses slide off my face constantly and my sunglasses is like the lenses have the focal point like a pin prick and they make me quite sick as everything around that point is blurry.
Today I w...ent to have my normal glasses adjusted again and they said they cant because Ive damaged the glasses, which I havent....they have always been like that. I got them in Feb and they have needed replacing since brand new because of the issue with them falling off. I dont have this issue with the ones on display. The service today was the last straw and I wont be using specsavers again.
Prescriptions consistently not correct
Specsavers has been my go to place for new glasses for many years. I had Lasik 13 years ago and not needed glasses but due to illness the eyes changed in vision and I had to occasionally wear reading glasses. Over the years I went back for new glasses and they nearly always were made with inaccurate lenses which made them difficult to see through and meant you went back and forth to rectify them. This year I had cataracts removed which changed my vision again. I went back and the optometrist did a good job at recalculating my lense prescrip...tion but the glasses came back again with lenses I did not see through properly. I now have to again return to Specsavers and have my eyes rechecked so the lenses can be remade. May be after all these years I should consider using another company to see if they can get the lenses right the first time. Here is hoping all will be right this time.

No empathy, care for loyal customers - Point Cook
We are loyal customers of Specsavers point cook years, I, wife and my son every year spend around 1000 dollars on specs on this store. This incident occurred few days back regarding my son's specs.
We bought 2 glasses for him (sunglass, and reading) 6 months ago and one arm has come out while he removed his specs. I went to store expecting it will be a direct replacement under warranty, the person in the counter immediately said they can't repair it they have to replace it and it will be 30 dollars for replacement, I was quite puzzled by that ...and asked would not it be covered under warranty, he was saying only for manufacture warranty, and not for accidental. I asked what you mean accidental, it just came out when he removed glass, how could it be accidental. He said best he can do it for replacing it for 30 dollars. I was so disappointed and paid 30 dollars as my son's eyes much worth than paying for it and even though I knew they are kinder holding me for a hostage. I'm thinking whether it is worth having anymore relationship with a business who boast about their compassion.
Pushy sales people but good optometrists
Optometrists are good. They just do the checks and tell you as is. But the sales people when you sit down to order the glasses try to sell you add on extras which arent even cheap! The glasses they sell are just the plain ones with single vision so they try to make the most of getting people to buy add on bonuses which is really irritating! Its up to the customer what they will pay for. Some sales people are good in the sense they will not be pushy but there are a lot of people who just compulsively dont stop pushing!
Rude service cheap glasses lack knowledge
Re specsavers franchise in stocklands shopping centre at burleigh West, not only are they rude to their customers, they don't know what they are talking about, they know nothing about prism glasses, try to sell you Chinese contact lens when you ordered Japanese made, try to sell you up on frames, and what they do sell is low quality, and fall to pieces!! And their eye tests are not so accurate had to go to Brisbane to get satisfactory results. Highly recommend. Foresto eyeQ optometrists, they know it all very thorough, it's your eyes take more interest in who you let treat them!!! Spend more keep them longer. These stores Change hands regularly!!!
rude service cheap glasses
I bought two pair glasses. One for night and one for day. The night glasses came back the wrong colour. Sorry we don't refund. The day glasses was worn for one day when the lens popped out. Busy me just kept putting them back in the frame thinking I have to go back to the store and get this looked at until it popped out and I couldn't find the lens. But we don't refund and it all your fault was the rude service I received.
One of the worst customer service
Last week I booked an eye test with Macarthur shopping centre branch in Campbelltown NSW. The optometrist was thorough and polite, however, the fun began after the eye test with a saleswoman who was pushy rude and a compulsive liar, straightaway she wanted to know if I have chosen a pair to order I asked her that I want Carl Zeiss lenses, she told me if required it can be ordered, I asked her for price the reply was we don't do it, I asked what are the prices of their own lenses she replied what is point if you are not buying it. Further, I as...ked for my prescription which was provided but missing "PD" upon asking she said you don't need it unless you order the lenses. I told her that's not true and insisted for PD, at this stage she got really irritated and rude. Specsavers, stop ripping off people with your 3rd-grade lenses and frames on a premium price.

Questions & Answers
I got my glasses in February this year 2019 less than seven months old they are and they have snapped in two pieces in the middle of the nose been in the store and told I will have to pay £15 for a new frame I was only cleaning my glasses when this happened surly the glasses had a fault in as I wasn’t heavy handed so frames are only guaranteed for 3 months this doesn’t seem right to me. Any help?
Hi Cheryl. It looks like you're in the UK? If so, their Head Office is in Guernsey and you can phone them direct check their number out on their UK website. I have twice had the same experience with outlets in Australia and both times took them back and had the glasses replaced free of charge. If the UK Company don't do this for you (7 months is absolutely not a long time for wear and tear), contact the UK Government Department that deals with dodgy retail outlets - in Oz it's called The office of Fair Trading- I always find that just the threat of contacting them does the job! Hope this helps.
I just went into the Burwood Westfield Specsavers store in Sydney to get my eyes tested and choose some frames frames today (12/05/2019) to be told that I must pay the full amount upfront in advance before they would place the order, normally I would pay for new glasses when took receipt of them and I find this very unusual. I have transacted with Specsavers, BUPA Optical and others before & this the first I have ever experienced this demand. My question to Specsavers is this your normal policy?
I recently visited a Specsavers branch in Parramatta. I was told I can not refund a pair of glasses at all despite having refunded a pair of glasses in 2017 at a different branch. I referred to your legal policies for Australia and it states: "Specsavers will offer to repair or replace the products or issue you with a full refund." Under the 'no worries, no fuss' satisfaction guarantee, wouldn't I still have the ability to return my glasses if I am not fully satisfied within the 3 month period?
I had no problem but try another store/branch or maybe the reason is different to mine. Mine just did not work well and they (Wollongong branch went to lots of trouble to find out what went wrong and fix it quickly and at no cost.I did not ask for a refund rather to get the problems solved.
