WARNING This company rips off long term users - we have been with them several years over which time they have raised our plan to$93 per month and I can jump in and but the identical plan (nodiscounts) for $55 per month. Spintel, I think, are like most internet service retailers. To me, there seems to be more than arms length distance between customer/tech service and the wholesaler, in my case Optus for a 5G wireless internet service. I had numerous problems with the internet "dropping out" for reasons that were not clear. Was it the incoming signal? Was it a… Read more

problem with the modem? There seemed to be a real lack of technical information available to see exactly where the problem was. The modem itself has a log file which I assume they would have had access to but no attempt was made to analyse this. And of course every call for help went through the same process: -Have you turned the modem off and on? -We need to do a factory reset (nightmare)!! -Have you tried moving it to a different location (why, when it had been working fine for the last 12 months where it is in the window, looking at the tower)

Having said that, the service has now settled down and the speed I'm paying for has been reliably maintained.

was silly of me to bork at the increase, saying its tough for everyone. Needless to say, I will be going elsewhere. why can't people and businesses be decent?

We had no internet connection from Thursday night, 23 April 2026. On Friday morning, 24 April, we contacted SpinTel by phone. I was happy with her assistance and appreciated her understanding and offers of help . I initially used an AI chatbot which was quick, informative and somewhat helpful though because i was asking the wrong questionto solve the issue, it wasnt able to resolve it. asked the bot to put me onto a person, which it did promptly, which is great.

I didnt have a lot of indication from there that i was being put onto someone else and had to wait maybe 10-15 minutes before i had a response. I dont think this is an unreasonable wait time but if there is a way to have a better idea that im still in queue and not a closed chat, that would be my one suggestion.

Once connected with a person (Xyra) they apologised for the wait and were very helpful, providing helpful screenshots of where i needed to go and good instructions on what to do.

Quite happy with my experience today!

Very disappointed with SpinTel. I was on a $50 international calling plan and stopped using international calls as soon as I received the notification that my allowance was exhausted. However, SpinTel charged me nearly $200 in excess international call fees. The issue is that the SMS usage notification was sent around 24 hours late. I had no way… Read more

of knowing I had exceeded my allowance until I finally received that message. I raised this with SpinTel and explained that I acted immediately once notified, but they have refused to acknowledge the delayed notification and are insisting I pay the full amount.

This is extremely poor practice and places all the risk on the customer, even when the provider’s notification system fails. Be very careful when signing up with SpinTel, especially if you rely on usage alerts to manage your costs.
