a pre start meeting, then 3 weeks off for Xmas and cannot get prestart and final plans finished and we are sick of chasing up the woman is doing the pre start who loves a delay with a smile. You get told at the start of the process it wi; be quick and the professional yet you always have to followup up and it gets frustrating and you need to find a boss as return messages on email may be answered in 24/48 hours after the fact. They act like a government department with red tape an issues with effieciency Even finding an electrician to provide a quote and answer a simple question seems like the hardest task takeing over a week. progress, which has caused this delay. ​Our current Supervisor Jason took over on October 2025. Since taking over, they have been professional, proactive, and an excellent communicator. They are clearly working hard to fix the mess left behind by the previous management of our site. While the contract (Section 8) protects the builder with a 20% interest penalty on owner delays, the company has offered zero accountability for their own failure to manage their staff. ​Summary: The quality under the new supervisor is great, but the company’s internal handovers and previous staffing choices have cost us thousands in delays. If you build with them, ensure you have a massive 'Liquidated Damages' amount in your contract to cover their scheduling risks." change them because they decided it wouldn't work over and over again because they have no idea what they are doing. The fixed contract price increase, the delays, stuff ups and at one stage using not the right plans. Then after u drag them kicking and screaming to the handover and then u need things fixed that they just didn't give cr^p about doing right in the first place and they ghost you, drag it out for 3 years then try say well it's been a while now it's different and thats not available anymore so we can't fix it anyway. Most useless infuriating, selfish company I have ever dealt with. Wasn't our first house we have built either. I pity people that choose them to waste their hard earned money.

went downhill from there.

It took three months just to complete the brickwork—with only one bricklayer on site, working alone, no assistant. After that, the site sat idle for 3–4 more months. Despite obvious delays, Summit kept feeding us empty promises: Feb 2023, then April, then May. Meanwhile, our landlord needed the rental back, and we were forced to move in with friends while still paying a mortgage.

Out of sheer frustration, I posted on social media—and only then did Summit respond. A site meeting was organised with the head of construction, more promises were made, and—again—most didn’t materialise. We had no choice but to move into an incomplete home.

We assumed they’d finish the outstanding work quickly. We were wrong. Here's just a sample of what followed:

- Kitchen panels damaged during construction took nearly two years to replace. Even now, the workmanship is poor, but we’re too exhausted to keep chasing it. I’ve left a detailed review about this fiasco on Ringma’s page.

- Side paving took over a year to be compacted after repeated requests. The team left a huge mess.

- Terrible paintwork throughout the home—some was "fixed" by the maintenance team, but nowhere near the standard expected of a brand new house.

- Our front door rotted within two years. We reported it in December 2024, and it was only replaced in April 2025. The installers left wood chips and dust everywhere and refused basic courtesy when asked to cut outside to minimise mess. When I raised concerns with Summit’s maintenance team, they dismissed me and accused me of being rude—simply for pointing out poor workmanship.

And their usual line? “Go to the building commission if you’re not happy.” They say it knowing full well the complaints process is long, slow, and often goes nowhere—something they clearly take advantage of.

This has been one of the most stressful experiences we’ve ever faced. If this review stops just one family from falling for their shiny marketing and showroom promises, it will be worth it.

provided to coarse brick, cheap internal ac air distibution grills. During construction stage, information provided by office of process was great, but onsite foreman works are terrible, and with no interest to make it better.

We are at the early stage of pre construction and so far have been very happy with Bill Shales and the design team. We are doing a one off design and there has been a lot of back and forth to get things right. We had a few little hurdles to get over along the way, but with Bills open communication and input, we got there and are now happy to be continuing to the next stage with Summit. Show details ·  1

timelines. Everything changed when we were allocated a new site supervisor (huge shout-out to Lewis Comer!). From the moment he came on board, the difference was night and day. He communicated clearly every week, quickly sorted any issues that popped up, kept the tradies on schedule, and genuinely cared about getting us the finish we wanted. Thanks to his efforts, the build got right back on track and we actually handed over earlier than we thought possible. The final walk-through and handover were completely stress-free – a massive relief after the earlier hiccups! The house itself has turned out even better than we imagined, and the customer service we received in the second half of the build has restored our faith completely.
