pre-construction coordinator have been very open with how much things cost and understanding of our budget. They provided helpful insight and ideas to guide us through options and add-ons as we are new to the process.
We would've liked another meeting or even an online call between contract signing and pre-start to just re-inform or understand what the process and milestones look like in terms of construction start dates. They do however, provide one in the online portal provided but I guess it was also on us to initiate the conversation as well.

DO NOT BUILD WITH THIS COMPANY. In our contract it states that we must the final amount of money before keys can be handed over. Which is fine by us, and we did. But the contract also states that if there are any defects or little jobs that need to be addressed that they will. Here's the problem its been over 2yrs now and we are still waiting on… Read more
our not so new house anymore to be completed. Ive said it from day one that the quality or lack of quality in the finishings. Ceilings missing paint, paint also missing from numerous locations around the house, PowerPoints not ,door handles not fitted correctly, broken shelfs in cupboard, Over the past 2yrs nearly half the items that we chose to upgrade to better one instead of standard ones have an issue or something go wrong.
The biggest problem we have is that we have a squeaking floor upstairs which took 12 months and 5 visits from a couple of different trade's who had to cut the floor and install screws in floor frames that had not been installed at all. 6 months after that floor started squeaking randomly at first, but now it squeaks just about every time we walk across it. SO upper management's solution is if we can just keep monitoring it as it seems to be a seasonal thing, WTF This season next season it doesn't matter what season its still squeaking and there not even interested in resolving it let alone even sending someone out to have a look. We paid alot for our first new home, which was meant to be our dream home, but all we have got so far is a BIG NIGHTMARE that just keeps on continuing, The frustrating thing is that its always us making contact with them to found out if anything is being done to resolve these issues and all we is just the run around, sad thing is everyone i have spoken to that has built with Summit homes have had a similar experience with them. Hopefully I can one day write a review saying that our house has finally been finished.

it's even worse than before. Still no down pipes. I've emailed them last week and response was we'll follow up. Rain came today and it will be raining all weekend. Water is going everywhere. Few more things have gone wrong, 10 monts after initial inspection still nothing. Please think twice before you sign up with Easy Start or if you are women.

Pre start also took much longer then it should have going back and forward on things and with the portal displaying incorrect information and options. Finally in construction stage but I am very disappointed in Summit and my experience so far trying to build my home.

The whole build had flaws, mainly due to an inexperienced build supervisor who was nothing more then a glorified admin assistant. until August 2025 to get the slab down. Now in July 2026 and we are still months away from completion as tiling hasn't even started. Insulation was installed in March 2026. Cladding commenced early May, by which time much of it had blown out, and 9 weeks later the cladding still isn't finished! So many jobs left incomplete or unsatisfactory, from cavity slider door that was missing, plumbing in the wrong location, bricks that are still missing, fascia corners, benchtops, waterproofing...the list goes on. Communication is atrocious and my allocated Customer Liaison actively blocks my access to my site supervisor. I constantly have to chase things up, and despite emails being itemised, I rarely get satisfactory responses. I have had just 3 meetings with my site supervisor, two of which have been at my insistence after long delays and significant concerns in relation to project management and workmanship, and one of which was supposed to be a tiling meeting but the Tiler didn't turn up. Nothing but frustration and disappointment. I have previously built a two storey home with another company and that process was painless. I had been working with another company at the beginning of this process and every day I regret not going with them instead. Don't believe the sales pitch.
Follow-up · So finally, nearly 4 months after cladding of the front elevation commenced, the cladding has finally been finished! It was partially installed and then removed 3 times. Funny enough, after meeting Lisa, we found out that two of our friends had also built their first homes with her! Hearing how happy they were with their experience gave us even more reassurance that we were in good hands.

It wasn't because we felt "sold to" - it was because, as two people with little understanding of the home-building process, Scott made everything easy to understand and navigate.
We already had our block of land secured, so we could jump straight into the exciting part of selecting floor plans. Throughout this stage, we were incredibly indecisive, but Scott was endlessly patient. He spent hours with us exploring different options, explaining the pros and cons, and helping us understand what would best suit our needs.
Scott took the time to understand what was most important to us and shared a wealth of knowledge throughout the process. As a young first-homeowner couple, we appreciated his guidance on current trends, colour schemes, and design choices. At no point did we feel pressured or judged - only supported and encouraged.
We would recommend Scott to anyone without hesitation. He has been an absolute gem, and we are so grateful for the support, knowledge, and genuine care he has shown throughout the beginning of our building journey.

My experience dealing with Summit Homes was extremely disappointing. Products were installed incorrectly and not in accordance with the manufacturer’s published installation guidelines. There were also workmanship and finishing issues involving the framing, windows and brickwork. Concerns were raised, phone calls went unanswered, and I ultimately had to arrange independent reports before significant framing issues were properly addressed.
One of the most concerning issues related to a product that had not been installed in accordance with the manufacturer’s requirements. I contacted the supplier/manufacturer directly, who confirmed that the installation did not comply with their installation guidelines and that, as a result, the manufacturer’s warranty would not apply. This was a product that would otherwise have carried a warranty of up to 20 years.
After confirming this, I emailed Summit Homes specifically asking them to provide their own warranty for the product given that the manufacturer’s warranty had been compromised by the installation. They would not provide that warranty.
When I raised that the installation was contrary to the manufacturer’s requirements, the response I received was words to the effect of, “We have been doing it this way for years.” In my view, that is an unacceptable response. Doing something incorrectly for years does not suddenly make it correct. If a manufacturer provides clear installation requirements for its product, those requirements should be followed, particularly where failing to do so results in the homeowner losing a long-term manufacturer’s warranty.
This was not simply a difference of opinion about workmanship or installation methods. I checked the requirements directly with the supplier/manufacturer and confirmed the warranty implications.
Based on our experience, I would not recommend Summit Homes. Once the contract was signed, I felt the level of service and willingness to resolve legitimate issues dropped significantly.
I strongly recommend that anyone considering building with them thoroughly researches the company, obtains independent advice and has the building contract properly reviewed before signing.
Homeowners should not have to commission their own independent reports and continually push for defects and incorrect installations to be investigated and rectified. There needs to be greater accountability in the building industry when manufacturer installation requirements are not followed and homeowners are left without the product warranties they reasonably expected to receive.
Follow-up · 4 Bedroom 2 bathroom new build Product warranty, we only got the frame correct as we had our own inspector for structure. Resolution to warranty from incorrect methods of installation - nothing they just wiped there hands clean of it, WA needs to have a better system to report builders, you have to pay a fee to submit a problem to the government.

would have struggled to get this far through the planning process, as there is A LOT to think about. Tania and I went spent a few days visiting the suppliers and showrooms to do my selections and her insight was invaluable! So good to be able to choose your stone benchtops based off a giant slab, rather than a teeny tiny little sample. She also reviewed our plans with a fine-toothed comb to make sure everything was captured and pratical. With regard to the design, Robert has been amazing. He gave so much great advice and re-worked the design to suit our block and our lifestyle to a tee! Can't wait to see the finished result!

the home we wanted within budget was second to none, his product knowledge was unbeatable as we’d spoken with 4 other builders. Once speaking with Scott there was no competition, he made sure all our alterations and concerns were noted and resolved, he spent the extra time to help guide us and get us the most for our money, which now more than ever is something we were concerned with. The building consultant has been genuinely helpful and easy to deal with providing good advice around cost savings and value-adding options and being patient with my never-ending questions. The support has definitely made a noticeable difference to my overall experience.
Follow-up · Response to emails is still slow. No proactive communication, I've had to follow up all my email queries with a phone call. I'm now looking at engaging with another builder unfortunately.

I did not even worry about driving back and forth from Perth to check on the build as Paul kept me so well updated with photos, online portal and via text when I had questions. Building was so easy and stress free with summit. Highly recommend!
