Sunbeam Quantum Evo Stainless KE6300 Questions & Answers
VerifiedIs it 304 stainless steel?
Hi Kim, I cannot see the grade of s/steel written on the jug. 304 s/steel is the most used/common so i would guess it is 304 s/steel. regards Tom

I purchased this kettle 12 months ago, I am a pensioner and decided I would rather pay the extra and get a well known brand, my last kettle was a plastic $20 one and I had it for 3 years so I naturally assumed it would last a bit more than a plastic one. it is leaking at the plastic level gauge so now I am back to boiling water in a pot until I can get a new one, can it be repaired? the shop I purchased it from has closed down.
It's best to contact sunbeam for your warranty you can get a new one or a refund @ the number should be on the box or you could try directory assistance / I bought mine from myer and mine broke down so I replaced it with a high end as sunbeam which was even worse so my advice is to pay more money and buy a better different brand name electric water kettle @ breville is even better and there are a few brand name kettles out there such as kenwood / you are better off getting a refund or cutting your losses as sunbeam were good when they made plastic electric kettles nowadays they are just a dangerous poor effort @ i give sunbeam a few thumbs down
If it's out of warranty by a little bit @ it's not bad though if it's out by a month they don't really want to know about it though you could double check with the department of fair trading or you could try cutting your losses and just buy a new better electric kettle such as Russell Hobbs or like i stated before breville is even better than sunbeam kettles these days
I contacted the Sunbeam service centre - you can either email at sunbeam.com.au or call 1300 881 861. They replaced my kettle that was faulty - it took a while so make sure you keep contacting them if they don't respond, they will eventually. Hope this helps
Why are Sunbeam selling such bad kettles, these reviews are really bad. Do sunbeam care at all, maybe when we all STOP buying these products, they might?
Hi, In short, I don't know why they're so bad. Sunbeam used to be a good brand but I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole now. Replaced it with a Kambrook stainless steel one which is fine, so far. Before the Sunbeam Quantum Evo stainless, I had a Sunbeam plastic kettle which worked fine. Then one day I noticed the plastic was disintegrating where it was in contact with steam. With a screwdriver I scraped about 1mm of powdery plastic off before I got down to solid plastic. Needless to say it went in the bin. Seems that trusted brands and proven technology have gone down the drain, ie. kettles used to last for years and years. I don't think Sunbeam care as long as people keep buying their products. ProductReview is a great site. Regards

Not sure though our household sunbeam plastic kettle was great
Thanks Sunbeam ....... That kettle is so bad "How Do I Know" I had one and randomly every now and then it would not turn off. Glad it never burned my house down. Don't worry though, as you should have recalled these kettles, I made the decision never to buy Sunbeam ever again and I am true to my word. I have plenty of other Brands now and No New Sunbeam products. PS Your Customer Service Team DON'T Care When An Item Is Out Of Warranty ...... How about you put Two Years on them and not just that ONE year. You won't do that because you would receive every product back. I prefer stainless or glass kettles rather than plastic ones.
I have owned a Sunbeam Quantum Evo Stainless 1.7 litre cordless kettle with a hinged locking lid for years and it has worked just fine. The numerous comments about bad taste surprise me, as they just didn't happen.
However, the button that locks the safety lid has now broken (one side of the plastic hinge pin has broken off). I would like to purchase a new part, but I do not see any advertised. It is cheaper to purchase a new kettle rather than go to a repair shop. If I cannot purchase a new part and do the job myself (this is mechanical - not electrical) then I will place the kettle in the rubbish bin. That of course would endorse that we are a THROW-AWAY society, and sadly our environment would not be a winner.

Yeah good idea / I agree with you throw the sunbeam quantum electric kettle in the bin though you know what's even worse their elapse model as it's more of a piece of junk not to mention dangerous as water started leaking next to the switch area
