Have been with Suncorp for many years. Never have I seen a bank fall from grace so fast. From their online service, to their two apps that you basically need to operate your finances with, some what. Wasting our time, all because this system is not working. There is a lack of knowledge of the product, a decline of educated senior staff. If this… Read more

had been the1st or second time I would move on. There is not enough customer service, not enough experienced staff, so I'm afraid we will be moving our business else where. Today it was the over the phone service, and the Morayfield store Qld. Tomorrow it will continue in other branches, after looking at these other reviews. Sandra Jones

I was previously a Combank customer for 45 years and changed my personnal and business accounts to Suncorp in 2013 due to the apathy and lack of service I experienced at Combank. I subsequently also moved my SMSF and Trust accounts across in 2018. I do 99% of banking on line and visit the Suncorp branch maybe twice a year when I have something… Read more

outside the bounds of what I can do online. I have always received prompt & helpful service when I visit the branch at Carindale, Qld. Yesterday, I went with my son to Combank because he wanted to transfer a large sum exceeding his transaction limits to my account. This ultimately took 1 hour and 45 minutes, all but 5 minutes of which was waiting for service. They then charged him a fee of $30 for the transaction. I had done a similar transaction with Suncorp to an external account for twice the value that took 5 minutes at the teller and there was no charge. That included a comprehensive check of the process, data and scam risk by a supervisor before finalising the transaction. I left an appropriate negative review for Combank but though it only fair to balance the ledger by acknowledging the good service I have received from Suncorp over the last 13 years.

Avoid avoid avoid, buyer beware – Walked into Suncorp Burwood branch today 21/12/2022 in the morning. Empty, no customers. Three staff members. Not a single one offered to assist me. I attended to open an account. Stood there for many minutes with my family. No response. Eventually a staff member said hi then walk past me not waiting for a reply. Didn't help. The store was absolutely empty. Show details

I recently visited your Capalaba branch and was very disappointed with the service I received. There was only one teller available, resulting in a line out the door. To save time, I attempted to make a deposit at the ATM. While the first set of… Read more

deposits processed successfully, the second set became stuck, and the machine issued a receipt stating that a teller was not available. After waiting in line for approximately 30 minutes, I was informed that it could take up to 45 days to resolve this issue. This is completely unacceptable. I understand that errors can occur, but the lack of support and long wait times for assistance reflect very poorly on the bank’s customer service. I hope this matter is resolved quickly and that steps are taken to improve service at this branch.

Absolutely terrible! I have banked with them for years, recently I've had nothing but problems with them. Today the girl on the counter refused to count my money and put it in the bank, she then pushed into me and accused me of swearing. Which is… Read more

100% a lie. The manager from a sealed internal room agreed with her. Both are being extremely dishonest, makes you wonder what they are doing with your money they can't even be honest to your face!

Follow-up  · The branch was Mackay, I was depositing cash a mix of notes and coins into the bank. The manager completely lied that she heard swearing when she did not. I have since put in a formal complaint, I have received an apology from the customer complaints department. I will never walk back into that bank, I have since moved banks.

Terrible. Can’t access my money as their app doesn’t work and they don’t know why. Desktop version also didn’t work until they fixed it so I could not access my account for 2 days. Then tried to purchase hotel tickets and card declined despite plenty of funds available. Called Suncorp again and once again they advise not sure why. Show details

I am really happy with my construction loan, thanks – I am really happy with the mortgage. One of the best available rates for construction loan with offset account. Really zero fees plus $2000 cash bonus which was really helpful. I also recently changed my mortgage to interest only with again zero fee with the same rate. I would specifically like to send my gratitude to progress fund team for processing the payments to my builder super fast. Thanks guys and keep up the good work! Show details

Don't waste your time. We have banked with them for over 20 years, and we have finally reached breaking point. Their business banking division is utterly incompetent. Our accounts have been randomly locked, demanding identification documents they already hold on file. We were then told that ASIC had the wrong information on their side. After I had… Read more

to contact ASIC directly, they confirmed all records are accurate and that the fault lies entirely with Suncorp, which only reinforced what I already knew. I agree with everything previous reviewers are reporting. I can not express how dissatisfied I am with Suncorp Banking both branch and online. Our business account has been frozen due to “get to know your customer” policy! We have been with this bank/building society for 40years - if they don’t know us by now they never will and pretty soon, once… Read more

So, recently I had to help someone I sponsor in Australia who can work here, to open a bank account for work. Couldn't do it online as they are only a resident, so went into a branch with them with all the ID and requirements for verification. Fair enough. So, after listening to all the policy and blah blah that the person read through I said… Read more

just open an everyday account. They will want to open a savings account and a joint account and we were told that you can just do that online or via the app after this. There was a typo on the name and then they couldn't open the account that day as they had to get ICT to fix the typo, crazy. Several days later they finally open the account. All good. But then when we go on the app or online to open other accounts, it won't do it, and we're told to go back into the branch to verify ID and documents. So why would we go all the way back into the branch to verify the same ID and documents the bank has already verified and taken copies of. There's already an open account. Weeks later we're still going around in circles trying to get this done. And of course, it's not like the sole branch here is in a convenient location or has flexible working hours. It's frustrating and a total lack of common sense. How do you maintain customers?! I'm continuously just sending emails saying, just open the accounts but why should I come in and do the exact same process over and over again. Their response is just do it online or via the app. IT DOESN'T BLOODY WORK!

⭐☆☆☆☆ (1 star) This branch deserves a zero-star rating, but as that’s not possible, I am giving it one. I recently had an extremely disappointing experience with the Suncorp Gladstone branch regarding a simple request for an ATM card. After ordering the card over the phone and nominating for it to be sent to this branch, I was advised it would… Read more

arrive within 2–5 business days. It did not.

I followed up with customer service mid the following week, only to be told they could not provide any update. An internal email was reportedly sent to the branch, which went unanswered — a recurring theme throughout this process.

When I visited the branch in person, I was met with long wait times and visibly understaffed counters. Upon finally being served, the teller informed me that the card hadn’t arrived — but this was said without actually checking. A second staff member, identifying as the branch manager, repeated the same line and offered no courtesy or willingness to assist. While not overtly rude, both staff were abrupt, dismissive, and failed to demonstrate even a basic standard of customer service.

I requested for the card to be redirected to a different Suncorp branch closer to where I live. This simple, reasonable request was neither acknowledged nor actioned, despite follow-up calls to customer service and further internal emails being sent.

Over the next week, I made additional enquiries through both customer service and the local branch where I had asked for the card to be redirected. No updates were ever received. The receiving branch had no correspondence from Gladstone, nor any information in their system. The consistent silence and inaction from the Gladstone branch is unacceptable.

In summary, this experience was marked by poor communication, failure to follow through on internal processes, and a distinct lack of professionalism or customer care. Given the current 1.7-star rating for this branch, I consider that figure overly generous. If zero stars were possible, I would have selected it.

This has been one of the worst banking experiences I have had in recent memory.

Worst company ever! Steer clear at all costs. Needs to be investigated. Firstly, their insurance department is shocking. Not at-fault accident, they wanted to write the car off and told them no. The quote they got was astronomical ($6,000 more) and Youi (the at fault driver's company) said to cancel the claim with Suncorp and go through them as… Read more

they would fix the car. Suncorp proceeded to write the car off a week AFTER the claim was cancelled, and never told us the car had been put on the WORV even though it had been fully repaired. Then said we just had to go through the process to have it put back on the road, despite it not being written off and was literally sitting in the driveways, fully repaired. They refused to take it off the WOVR, and it took Youi having to contact suncorp and tell them how to do their job properly to get it sorted. All the while without a vehicle for 3 months. Naturally the policy was cancelled, and went with a new insurance company. THE DAY the vehicle was finally able to be driven again, a guy ran up the back of the car and drove off. Police didnt help, local council said none of the CCTV footage was aimed near there, and a fb appeal to the community drew up no answers. That day it was still insured by suncorp, but they claimed because the policy was cancelled, they wouldnt insure it. When asked to provide where on the cancellation it said this, they just said they couldnt give a definitive answer. Legally It was cancelled for Dec 5th at 11:59pm. The accident happened Dec 5th at 3:30pm. After a lengthy process, they refused to help, and I went to the AFCA, who was blown away by how much the company had actually done that was absolutely illegal. It tooks months for the AFCA to sort it all out, and today as it sits the car is still not repaired, nearly 6 months on. Should have cancelled the Bank account with them as well, but as i run a business there is alot involved with this. My card for the account has expired, and when I called to get a new one because it had never been automatically sent out like normal banks usually do, they refused me access to my account. The security questions asked were my name, DOB, and address. I thought maybe i hadnt changed my address, but a quick look on the online banking site proved otherwise. They refuse to send me a card, they refuse to confirm my identity, they refuse to send me through to someone who can help. Ive called numerous times, and when i went into the branch they said i could order a new card through the app (which my request was denied). They cannot tell me why im failing my security questions, and I am gobsmacked as I am unmarried, your DOB does not change, and my address is correct. I explained how i have a toddler who isnt going to sit for 1-2 hrs waiting, and the local branch only ever has 1 person working, and 20 people lined up (no doubt all experiencing the wrath of incompetence from this company). I finally gave up and opened a new account with a new bank, and upon trying to transfer my money over, I am getting messages saying my funds cannot be transferred. So now they are holding my money, and I have no way of accessing my funds to get the bare necessities to survive. I have no way to get into the branch, its a public holiday the next day, then the weekend. So I am completely without money for the next 4-5 days, as they wont even let me transfer $50 to my new account. The behaviour and treatment from this company is despicable.

Simple but urgent request for a loan document takes one email cycle per day (e.g. they sends request for additional doc, we responded quickly, then they will to respond the next day). This is unacceptable in today’s standard. Very poor performance.

I visited a Suncorp branch today with a simple request: exchanging a $50 note for two twenties and a ten. The teller asked if I was a Suncorp customer, and when I said “No,” he refused to make the exchange—apparently, that's the bank’s policy. So, I walked across to a nearby coffee shop and asked them the same thing. Without hesitation, they… Read more

swapped the notes for me. Pleased with their service, I bought a coffee and a cake, rewarding them for their customer-friendly attitude. This experience highlights an important lesson for businesses: policies should never come at the cost of goodwill. The coffee shop prioritised service and gained a new customer, while Suncorp—along with any of its associated entities—lost a potential customer for life. There was no additional cost to the bank, only an opportunity wasted. In the time it took the teller to refuse me, he could have simply made the exchange. And now, here I am, sharing this experience online for anyone interested in how Suncorp values service—or rather, doesn’t.

I have a suncorp bank account, and opened a Suncorp platinum credit card. I recently closed it and made sure it was paid off, unfortunately overpaying by $154 because of the lag in the system. (09:30-16:00 Mon-Fri) - I called Suncorp to see if they can re-pay me some other way as to visit this one and only branch in office hours would mean I would have to take off half a day at work and lose more money than I am paying in. After being on hold for 30 minutes and being passed between 3 different operators I was told this is the only possible remedy - to attend the branch. What a joke. If you live on the east coast then maybe this bank would be ok - But if you live in Perth and work Mon-Fri, avoid - this bank is not customer focussed. At least open for a couple of hours on a Saturday morning!???

Poor Service for Banking – looking to open a kids account...informed that i would then need to return to the Branch to verify identity which I had with me. Then informed I would need to make appointment. No other customers were in bank at the time. Fail to understand the customer service. Don't open till 9.30...close early and then unable to accommodate a simple admin task.
