Tetra Snuggle Bed Questions & Answers
What are the measurements for these beds
I have used these for all of my grandchildren and found them fantastic but gave mine away when the last grandchild got big.i've now purchased a used one to accomodate my great grandchild when he visits but i want to get it cleaned and sanitised 1st.How do i go about this? as i think if it goes in a washing machine it will clump?
I was given a SH tea tree mattress I washed it and now the cover (not the removablecover) is all brown splotchy can I clean the mattress some how to remove stains
Do you still make a teatree bassinet mattress? If not am I able to buy online the snuggle bed?
I used a snugglebed for our daughter and we travelled with it, moved houses and eventually had her sleep in it innher cot until she outgrew it. We didn’t need a bassinet or any other travel bed until about 7 months.
We are expecting our second child in 2 weeks so our original snuggledbed is now almost 2 years old. It has been stored in its original bag.
Question - is it safe to use the same snugglebed ornshould we be buying a new/fresh one? I’m
Not sure how long the tea tree bark stays fresh. Thoughts??
I used mine for all three children, I really can’t say how long the bark stays fresh for or if it’s ever lasting? I always had blankets under it to soften it a little. But I really see no reason why you shouldn’t be able to continue using it for all of your babies. I just kept putting it out in the sun to revitalise it.
I was just wondering how this bed can be washed?
I don’t think I did, maybe just sponge it. I was very lucky my babies never spoilt our one. I just aired it in the sun on both sides. Sorry I can’t be of more help.
Hi is this bed smother proof? If bubby goes face down can they breath?
If they are strong enough to turnover they are strong enough to lift their head. I never slept him on his tummy so it wasn't a problem. Like any Moses basket or bassinet I would not sleep baby on tummy for fear of suffocation.
I was just wondering the same my baby is now rolling so wandering if it is still safe for him to sleep in?
My daughter came home from the hospital at 24 hrs old and went straight into her own room in the big cot, Which I had the Tetra Snuggle bed set in, She spent every single night in her own room in that snuggle bed, I often went in to check on her and found her on her side, Or cuddles up with her Face downwards, They are Made of Completely Breathable fibres, They have Passed All Australian safety standards, The base is filled with chemical-free and breathable Tea Tree Flakes, and the sides are firmly filled. Each Snuggle Bed comes with a removable cover for easy washing. Hand-made in Australia!
As long as Bub Is in an all over jumpsuit, No need for a Blanket, So then there shouldn't be any reasons for bub to be smothered.
I reccomend these to Everyone!
Hi, thanks for all the great reviews. If you don't place the snuggle bed in a cot, where can you put it? We have a tiny bedroom and won't be buying a cot quite yet. Don't really want to put it on the floor?!
Hi Miriamraphael, Good question. I put the snugglebed in the middle of my bed (when I wasn't sleeping in it). As i never used the snuggle bed during the night it wasn't a problem (that is, my baby was either in the snugglebed or in her bassinettte). My friends use it in the cot and it works well as the baby learns to associates the cot with sleeptime.

Hi Are these beds safe for babies heard alot of different reports? Can you put a newborn baby straight into a cot? What is the best option? Thank you Regards Noni
I felt quite safe putting our baby in this tetra bed although you need to be careful to put it on a stable surface so they can't roll/fall off accidentally. I also put the tetra bed in the cot when we were more comfortable having her in her own room. In my opinion you can put a bub straight into a cot but for SIDS risk it is better for them to sleep in the same room as you for at least 6 months. If you can have the cot in your room, win/win! All the best :)
Hi Noni, I don't think that I am in a position to deem the snuggle safe enough to rule out SIDS risk. My midwife told me to avoid using it, but i continued to use it. To be honest I used it as a sleeping aid (i had a very poor settler) for my newborn (until she could no longer fit which was about 4-5 months old). I put the snuggle bed in the middle of my queen size bed and always checked in on her. She slept in the bed from 6.30pm until her 10pm feed, then I put her in her bassinette (as she had no problems falling asleep any other time, only in the evening!). She never managed to roll onto her front whilst swaddled.
I would only suggest getting it as a sleeping aid if all else fails, so have your baby first! you never know you might have an easy baby that sleeps anywhere! I never felt comfortable to leave my newborn in it overnight or unsupervised.
I would say bassinettes are the safest for newborns.
