What brand motor is on this mower ??

Ton`

It is a Toro engine with Overhead cams. It is a shocking engine valves constantly needs adjusting it backfires when shut down as mentioned start issues but also the dust filtration is not good resulting in one engine replacement already. For me never a Toro again if in warranty all good, as soon as out of warranty you are on your own.

Is this machine suitable for small commercial operations? Areas of mow between 1 to 3 acres on domestic lawns.

I would say absolutely. It has a good solid deck. 42" cut.

Yes, I have an acre to mow and for laughs, I mow my neighbours vacant block (1/2 acre) s well as he is away all the time and he gives me beers as payment. Put it in mow setting and it will make quick work of it

Who makes toro motors & what is their reliability on replacement parts if needed?

J.G.

Toro engines used to be made by Tecumseh. They are no longer in business, so I have heard.

The engines Toro uses now are either made by Briggs & Stratton or Kohler. Either of them have a quite good parts network.
