Toshiba Satellite C850 / C850D The battery icon has a red cross on it. How do I know if it's the battery or charger?
my son's toshiba satellite C850 laptop is not booting up. pressing power button for extended time does not work. Each time I press power button an orange blinking light appears along with the two white lights.
My laptop did this when the battery ran out of charge. Try turning it on while it is charging. If this does not work, it could mean that the battery is fine but the hard drive may need replacing.

Tried different things but nothing worked, so took laptop to a local computer repair place and they simply tested charger, it was okay, then tested laptop and it went. They did nothing except restart computer at their place! The man said that my experience could still have occurred at my place. but thankfully, my son's laptop is fine now. I will let everyone know if I find out what made our laptop do what it did.
How to reduce the brightness of the display of c-850 toshiba laptop, i tried the function keys but i cant change the brightness bit, so please help me to shortout this problem?
Try pressing the FN key on at the same time when pressing the bightness key it should work :)
