issue and they told me it would take a month. Almost 2 months later I can't get an answer on when it will be fixed. I call Support and they tell me nothing except someone will get to me in a week with more information (have done this multiple times). The update I got this morning (a week after I contacted them) was to tell me they had no further information!! I am a small business and rely on this computer. Just not acceptable! On a side note, when I took it back to the store, the person behind the counter straight away asked me if it was my son's computer?!! I'm a middle aged woman, so obviously it couldn't be mine (it is)?!! Then when I told him I couldn't boot it up and it gave a particular error message, he asked me if this problem had existed since I first got the computer (2 years earlier)?! becoming unstable before completely refusing to boot up in March 2025. I narrowed the problem down to one of those three items but couldn't troubleshoot further.
29 March - Took it all in for a diagnosis and possible exchange or refund, and was told they would look into it and it might need to be returned to the manufacturer. I asked for an exchange and was told it had to be assessed first.
1 April - Received an email approving the warranty claim and that motherboard was to be sent to the manufacturer for assessment / repair
(3 weeks - No communication)
22 April - I email asking for an update - No response.
24 April - I called them asking for an update - I was told it is with the manufacturer being assessed and they will follow up to get an update from them. I asked about a possible refund or exchange instead of a repair and was told that is not possible. I raised the issue of Australian consumer law, where I believe this would be classed as a major fault and therefore should be entitled to an exchange or refund but was told I was incorrect. I asked to speak to a manager and was told they weren’t available but was promised one would call me within the next hour.
No call.
End of the day I received an email repeating that it is with the manufacturer and that I am not entitled to a refund or exchange.
29 April - I received a system email saying the motherboard has been dispatched to the manufacturer, for assessment and repair, 31 days after it was returned to the store.
3 May - I sent another email asking for clarification on when the motherboard was shipped to the manufacturer and contact details or repair number so I could get an update directly from them.
4 May - I received a response saying someone is looking into it and they will get back to me. No further response.
10 May - as of writing, still no response.
Having read through a number of reviews - there seems to be a striking similarity from anyone who has had the misfortune to return a product under warranty.
I'm no lawyer, but If something entirely stops working within the first year, I'm pretty sure that would be classed as a major fault. That places the responsibility on the retailer - i.e. umart to offer a replacement or a refund. Not to fob us off onto the manufacturer and say it's out of their hands. To anyone who has read this far thank you, I am lodging a complaint with NSW fair trading and would encourage anyone with a similar experience to do the same.
Review for Umart online as whole. Bought 3 toshiba 20TB HDD. Hdd shipping box opened as soon as I got my external HDD exclosure to install the Toshiba HDDs a few days after getting Hdds. Umart in store and asked for a refund. Told they had to send it back to manufacturer for assessment and would take up to 3-4 weeks . What assessment exactly I'm not sure? Poor packaging has lead to damage somewhere in transit which is obviously the case seeing how all 3 drives came out of the box damaged. 2-3 weeks after returning I get an email saying it is manufacturer and they are still assessing. Called Umart again today. Once again told at manufacturers with no updates. Asked for refund again once again told it would be put into my file. I was willing to wait for a while but now after more than a month since my warranty return I still have no Hdds, no refund, no idea when I might hear back from them. It is not my problem that the Hdds arrived damaged that should be an issue with Umart and delivery company(I'm sure they have insurance) or the manufacturer. I've asked for some sort of response by today which I'm sure won't happen.
Don't buy from this company if you expect any customer service when it comes to warranty related claims. This seems to a constant theme with Umart if you look at the reviews. They even had to put out and official statement on their webpage for clarification of warranty handling because of some bad press.
ACCC complaint to be lodged shortly. Seems like a fairly common thing for Umart just looking through some of the reviews.

Avoid Umart-MSY and Samsung G5 Curved 32 inch Monitor – Definetely stay away from Umart! Bought a Samsung G5 Curved Monitor. Stay away from this Samsung. it?" Still under warranty the monitor was brought back, because it fell off the stand whilst trying to tilt it backwards. There are only 2 pins holding the base of the base stand fitting to the monitor. One metal screw attaches the separate flimsy stand. Brought it back for refund, explained the issue. The unit was sent to the warehouse for further testing waiting to be refunded, as I believe it is a design fault. Because I needed on the day another monitor, bought a 32 inch 4K LG monitor from Umart - Ultimo. The stand is solid, the picture sharp, brilliant colours - beautiful monitor a totally different story to totally inferior crap of Samsung G5. After one week of Umart testing, the answer was given that there is evidence of overtightening the mounting screws and there is no warranty or refund for this monitor. Grrrrrr, there are no multiple mounting screws! There are 2 pins holding a short socket. The pins are fitted from the inside to a base the socket and the stand is attached by means of one central metal screw to the base socket. This is the only screw which can be locking the stand to the base socket. THE BASE SOCKET FELL OFF %$#%$^ Umart also told me that Samsung requested the monitor to be sent to them. I wonder why? Their warranty team evaluating the issue must be bakers or something else, or alternatively I start wondering if they are told to lie and tell surrealistic stories, which are so absurd it hurts. I rest my case here, but Umart and Samsung !!! - "Houston we have a problem" and thats me - if this would'nt be true it would be funny, but sadly it is. If you can, take my advice - avoid Umart and the Samsung G5 under all circumstance - buy an LG, HP, Lenovo or Philips. The Samsung G5 is really bad - Umart & MSY (MSY used to be good) but today a waste of time and money. I will send them an Invoice for my time, and will inform Fair trading and whoever else, give the thing to my solicitor to enforce damages if necessary through court action. - full stop.

be achieved and shortly after multiple bios updates and the issue becoming known to the public, ASUS changed the supported RAM on their website to be 6000mhz not 6400.
This is grounds for a refund and I'm not going to bring up the exact law from the ACCC for the hundredth time to prove it here, but the point is I bought a product which has been downgraded after purchase. What kind of product do you buy where it downgrades after purchase? I sure don't buy a fridge or a car and it immediately doesn't do what it says and downgrades after purchase.
I understand it's not Umart's fault that this technical issue happened, but I expect some level of customer service. I submitted a warranty claim at their store. I followed up at the same store and got more of "I can't help you", etc. They said they would forward my issue to the feedback mail which the COE and CEO reads. Not a single response from either the warranty claim or the feedback mail after 2 months. I at least expect A RESPONSE.

came time to get the monitor from West Ryde, something truly bizarre happened... they asked to unbox the monitor and to check if everything was okay, powered on etc. Now I have never seen this before and thought it was way above and beyond what I normally experience with other companies in Sydney. The team also were great to talk with and extremely helpful.
