Terrible – If I could, I would give this 0 stars. If this net was slow then I would be ok with it if it was just slow. BUT NO it disconnects around every 30sec -10minutes, which is just too frustrating. I mean yes it's good when I go to my local cafe to connect to free internet but not when the internet discconect every few seconds, whats the point?
Its a joke STEER CLEAR and save money – I would not recommend they should be shut down for the service they claim to supply but do not all they do is over charge and supply shocking service i joined unwired in 2007 always remained loyal to unwired even got several family members and friends to join now i feel sorry for them but lucky for them they saw sense and switched providers i was… Read more
paying half the amount of money they charge me now and i received more usage and the same speed i also got loyalty bonuses no i pay $64 get speeds as bad as a dial up not to mention a bad peak/offpeak ratio the highest speed i have ever achieved was 130kb/s and that did not last more then 5 secs the best speed i get at any time of day or night is 40kb/s i get 50kb/s if i use a download manager i have pulled a all nighter to see if my speeds change thoughout the night they dont they stay the same i dont see how the network could be congested within australia at 3:30am every single day this service is nothing more then a joke i would rather $99 and get optus at least they are reliable and give you bonuses oh and you even get a house phone i dont see unwired offering anything to its customers except high bills and bad internet service no contract, no phone line required they charge a high price to get a service and you are lucky to get 5% of what you pay for the speeds are basically dial up its bulky and not exactly pretty to look at even at full strenght you still will not receive good speeds customer service is never helpfull

Connecting easy -disconnecting a nightmare – I've moved overseas and tried to disconnect - apparently email is challenging for them, and despite multiple requests, provision of account info etc it still hadn't happened...After month I rang them (via mobile from the UK) and was told I hadn't provided the requisite information -despite them sending an automated email acknowledgement. much huffing and puffing they agreed to reverse the charge for the final month that had been made to my credit card - but didn't. Numerous emails later and the only responses have been slow and repeat that they've tried to call me without success -despite having my new UK number and email address. Frustrating, expensive (hell, I tried to call them again but gave up after being on hold for over 5mins...UK mobile rates ain't cheap), inane responses, slow etc etc. I had some goodwill toward them as a user...after this, zero - appalling service. Finally getting disconnected. Trying to get disconnected - utterly lousy customer service which was both slow and dumb.
Excellent – I was initially hesitant to get Unwired internet after reading the negative reviews on this site, and the slow loading speed of the sign-up pages. However, my fears were unfounded as I am very pleased with the speeds at which webpages I browse are loaded. Switching from ADSL2+, the change in my internet experience has been minimal, except the… Read more
download of larger files, which take a longer, but no where as bad as what is described below.
I would recommend it to anyone who is an average internet user, for casual browsing and, school and office work. I suppose the the negative reviews should be taken with a pinch of salt from my experience!
(I am in a ground floow apartment in Brunswick (VIC), surrounded pretty much by other 3-4 storey buildings, yet the connection is pretty solid!) Convenience: Connect immediately within the coverage areaEconomical: Probably the most value for money compared to other wireless broadband. And there is no connection fee unlike fixed line internet plans.Speed: Fast for everyday browsing, emails, etc. It is different to network it compared to the usual ADSL modems.
Good – Overall, I really like this provider. I have had minimal dropouts and in the several years I have had he connection, problems on only a couple of days. Yes, its slower than other broadband connections, but my main issue was reliability. I was with TPG for many years and suddenly I couldnt connect - at all. They kept taking my cash, all the while I… Read more
couldnt get any connection, and the run-around I was getting from their customer service was disgusting. In the end, 6 months on - and the tribunal getting involved - they finally admitted they had mislead me as to the problem (which they couldnt fix) and refunded my money for the 6 months in return for me cancelling my account. To go from this to a connection I was able to use straight away, have had assistance whenever I called that was helpful (including a replacement modem free of charge) and connection almost 100% consistently for several years... couldnt fault it. Sadly, they arent available in all locations across Sydney. easy to set up, great if your landline is unable to hold a broadband connection Slow broadband speed, not available in all NSW / Sydney locations

Good – I have found the coverage of Unwired to be quite poor and it is often difficult to get good reception. Even when I am able to get reception, the connection speed is very slow and makes it almost impossible to smoothly stream media such as You Tube videos. The connection also drops out frequently which causes a great deal of frustration. With so… Read more
many other wirless broadband Internet providers available, there is no reason to use Unwired. There are many more better value and better performing wireless Internet providers available. Easy to set up. Portable. Constant disconnections. Slow connection speeds. Poor coverage.
Good – We note many disgruntled unwired subscribers have problem re signal strength - we live in heart of Syd so not an issue for us. If we were able to commit to an 18 month contract we'd prob have gone with TPG, but U/wired flexibility suits us right now. No contract. Easy to set up (need to disable firewall). NO EXORBITANT CHARGES FOR EXCEEDING… Read more
MONTHLY LIMIT - WE WERE SERIOUSLY BURNED BY VODAFONE 5Gig PLAN - just go over 5Gig and the montly cost went to hundreds of dollars. Slower than Vodafone, but we cld pay another $10 per month for more speed.
Good – Great modem connection option for flexibility of service, plans, and reception. I've also never had any problems with customer service for the very few issues I have had. Unwired is great for the convenience of not having to hook up to a land line or cabling. Paying a little extra to have no contract is also worthwhile. Loads pages relatively fast… Read more
and has great reception in Sydney. Videos take a while to open, but then I don't look at that many so not a major concern.

Terrible – It takes 5 minutes to open one page then an error comes. That has been for two months now. I can not use it at all. I have screen dump of waiting to open unwired home page with clock beside. If some one wants the pictures I can send to you. I have asked them to cancel the service on 11th. They said it is too late they has charged me $30 for the… Read more
month and I can not use it at all. When you I forgot my login name, they will never give to you and then you can not cancel your service, they still charge you monthly. They do send your login user name to the email you link to the account. Event you told them your name and bank account information they will not you know your login name. You stuck there.
I rate it as 0 star. it was just ok for me only see my email 2 times per week. 5 minutes to open one page then an error comes.
Terrible – Don't bother with the company.... I am infuriated!!! The speed they offer is stone-age stuff. Yes there is the portability of the modem and service but who cares when you can now sign up for SIM card based modem that is even smaller and more portable with faster speed, all offered at far cheaper rate. Don't bother... Are you kidding me this… Read more
company and the service she provides is a joke... I am compelled to write another review. I have already written to say how disappointed I was with the oh-so-slow internet service they provide, far far far lower than the speed that you are promised. What is more disappointing is that when I finally decided to quit the service provider after having been a loyal customer for 5 years, the customer service line person made it very difficult and frustrating. First I rang to say I want to quit, upon being asked why, he wouldn't even want to listen to my barrage of complaints and I couldn't even terminate the service over the phone unless I log into my account on the website and do something with the plan etc and he wasn't very helpful about how I go about doing it. Long story cut short, I am paying for one further month when I have already signed up with a different provider because I ran 2 hours into the new month while sorting out the website thing. He told me my account has clocked no megabytes (duh I had modem switched off a while by then) but as I ran few hours into the new month, they would still charge me the prorated fee. 5 years of loyalty and they still want to take 40 dollars off me for the service I would no longer be using.
Terrible – It is sad how much of a lie the Unwired motto is ("No wires, no wait, no worries") when there is plenty of wait, 2 wires, and a lot of worries. Don't use this unless you're only in Australia for a little while, or if you like bashing your modem. Because I've done that lots of time. Do not use Unwired. Other than it's extremely portable, nothing.… Read more
Nothing at all. Speed is terrible even though my signal quality is great... and it just gets WORSE. Peak and off-peak are ridiculously outbalanced, and once when I exceeded my limit (which is 40GB, 8GB peak, 32GB off-peak), I did not notice any difference in speed. What a joke. Ha, ha. And the LAG that I get when I try to play online? It's LAUGHABLE!

Terrible – I am on the $99 a month plan it is the fastest one they have and really I have seen faster dial up than this joke that is infact if I can actually get to a web page because when even a hint of a dark cloud comes over it packs it in and stops working like today it took me an hour to get to this page, I think part of the problem is the crappy modems… Read more
they send out and the other part is the lack of any brains to do the right thing dont get me wrong unwired arent the worst they are actually on par with virgin broadband, so all up unwired are no good at all and would not recomend them to my worst enemy, I am actually rating this -10 not 1 absolutely none where to start but here are just a few. unprofessional tech support and customer service very unhelpful and they over charge, I wish TPG would bring out wireless

Terrible – DO NOT GET UNWIRED AT ALL. Absolutely shocking coverage, you get dial up speeds, drop outs, no customer support at all, I say this because they tell you the same thing each time you call them. A total waste of money. I am in the process now of looking for a more reliable service with one of the other service providers. Unwired was the only… Read more
prepaid wireless product at the time I purchased it. Where do I start!! It takes 15 minutes or more to get connected, if at all & then it constantly drops out. Takes forever to logout of email accounts etc, Speeds are so slow it is equal to dial up. "No customer support" each time I call I am told to move the moden around and to face it towards the towers ?? they have no technical knowledge or skills. What a joke!
Terrible – ISP of LAST RESORT - BEWARE!!! Admittedly there are some users that report good service, but from what I've seen in various forums, there are equally a huge number experiencing the same unacceptably poor internet service that I have found. After months of frustration, i hesitate to say there's anything i like about unwired poor to dreadful… Read more
reception. service provided obviously suffers during peak periods although off-peak isn't brilliant either. month-to-month you can notice the service degrading seemingly due to unwired overselling their network, forget internet luxeries like gaming, video streaming or and heavy downloads.
Terrible – Their interpretation of their contract does not coincide with the layout of their brouchers in respect to the fair trade practices act 1974 under part 5 - consumer protection, sections - 52, 53C, 56, 58a(ii). They offered me 1gb/peak to put me under download usage so at to allow me to access full speed on offpeak ( you try downloading 30gbg at… Read more
64k). Like i said their interpretation is deceptive/misleading on the amount you get download at full speed, 30gb download at 64k. Maths dictates it would take me 1302.08 hours to download 30gb at 64k, there are only 727.44 hours in a month it would be impossible for them to offer the plan im on. K69cruise@hotmail.com Wireless Im on a 45g plan (off peak-30gb; peak-15gb) at $99.95 p/m. When you exceed either peak/off download usage, your is speed reduced to 64k which means if you download your quota in peak which is 15gb, your off peak is reduced aswell. Hence you spend $99.95 p/m and exceed your peak and you dont get full speed to download 30gb offpeak (impossible). I believe this against the fair trade practices act 1974 under part v - consumer protection, in section 52-misleading & deceptive conduct, sect 53c-misleading representation of a service they do not have, sect 56-bait advertising and sect 58a(ii)-accepting payment without intending to supply services. I will be lodging a complaint with the telecommunication industry odmbudsman.
Terrible – No connection, so what service is there to talk about. Your modem will say "limited Connectivity" when you diagnose. If you get this Unwired.com.au service be prepare to see these two Favourite word - Limited Connectivity. Portable No connection every week day from 6:30am to 7am, 8am to 8:30am 11:30am to 12:15pm, 3:30pm to 4:15pm, 6pm to 6:30pm, 7pm to 7:30pm
OK – I wouldn't recommend unwired to a new customer unless they are really against having a contract. It has served a purpose for me and was one of the few available without a contract at the time I signed up a few years ago but I think there are now better options out there and I will be looking to switch in the near future. No contract on my planYou… Read more
can move locationsSet up costs were reasonable - only the cost of the modem which I think is even cheaper nowYou can change plans at any time throughout the monthAt the time I signed up consultants would come to your home to demonstrate so it meant I knew the service would actually work Poor reception in my apartment blockSlow speeds - once when I had used up my monthly allowance by speed was limited - I could barely tell the difference! The modem I have is bulky - I prefer the USB style ones
Terrible – When I used 'Unwired' 3 years ago it was pretty fast, but as they've oversold their product the infrastructure hasn't held up. I really don't want to sign a contract but I'm going to get a USB modem and a cheap 12 month contract just so I don't have to spend about 5 times longer viewing half as many pages as some other wireless internet options. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS !#%*. No contract Slow as all hell
OK – Not very satisfied overall but the best bet for me as didn't have many choices becuase I am here jsut for 6 months and didn't want to sign any 18/24 months contract. I think they are overselling their product but not improving their infrastructure hence the speed is detoriating day by day. good gor people like me who are here for short term as no… Read more
contract. reasonable price. very slow speed though I have the best plan. The peak and off peak limit is not as per standard. Out of 15 GB just 3 GB for Peak time while peak hours are 1/3 of the day so logically we should get 5 GB during peak hours and not 3. If I overshoot my limit during any of peak/off peak hours, they reduce the speed for all the remaining time. I believe if I overshoot the limit during peak hours then the speed should be reduced for jsut that duration and not for the whole day.
Terrible – Don't buy this crap...seriously. Spending $50 per month for a connection I can barely use is not my idea of good value. As a result I am considering switching to another ISP possibly one that can actually give me even close to the speed I am paying for. I pay for the highest speed connection with the hope that I am getting the best service it can provide. However, the speed is pathetic even though the signal strength and quality is good.
Terrible – Do not ever try it. It's too slow, drop down frequently, customer service is too bad, and they trick you by easy registration and arduous cancellation. Nothing Very bad service and expensive. Their policy is unclear, Ex. you have to do 2 phone calls as they said to me to cancel. While when you register you only put your credit card number. I told them when I did the cancellation first time no one told me that. Ironically, they said "the person who talked to you first time is from technical support, and she did not know that"???!!

Terrible – They claim to have low prices for 15gig of downloads, but at this speed its a farce because it would take a month to download just 1 gig. Terrible – No wonder 'Zoo Magazine' rated UnWired 1/5 stars in one of it's latest October magazine articles. I just wish I had known it was this bad, now I've wasted $100 on the modem. Gamers don't you dare even think you can play an online game with this....runescape? Yeah maybe lmao. But when playing games like CSS or Halo you wont even be able to move.
I'm done. Don't make the same mistake I did. 1. The only thing that's a pro is that you don't need a phoneline.... -.- 1. They call it "Unwired" but for the standard modem pack you need it to be plugged into a power outlet. (An 'On the go' battery needs to be bought for the modem, so much for f*****g portability)2. I live in Merrylands, NSW, AUS. The reception is terrible! At moments the reception will spike high but eventually just drop back down. (Wasted countless hours trying to reposition the modem and do other tricks to get a better signal)3. Even when the reception is high the speeds are as slow as dial-up!4. At times it takes 5 minutes to load a webpage (Sometimes, constant refreshing is needed aswell!).5. You get what you pay for, a cheap internet service.
Terrible – 30 gig for $100 is way too expensive for the slow speed and poor service. For that price you can get 30 gig of adsl2+. Unwired is pathetic stay clear of them. good download quota speed is pathetic even with full signal uploads are not free very overpriced Show details
Terrible – It is better to find out now than latter. The non convenient way they do business. They change the rules like I change my shirt. Please read my rating as Negative. The Speed is pathetic.
Excellent – Would recommend Unwired, if you are having trouble getting ADSL (or Cable) connected or don't want the added cost of having to pay for a phone line (like me) then go for it. It is as easy as they say it is to set up, and the freedom to take your broadband connection with you is a great advantage (especially if you move house). No need for a phone… Read more
line. Very easy to set up. Non of the initial connection problems that can be associated with ADLS and Cable. Only a small gripe, but it isn't as fast as similarly priced ADSL, but then again you don't have to pay for line rental.
Terrible – If you are planning to use UNWIRED for your life time, it may be a good service. Difficult to disconnect!!! You need to look around the web page. There is NO UNSUBSCRIBE MENU or instruction. You CANNOT remove your credit card information. You can change the credit card number but only to another working credit card. I canceled the service and UNWIRED CHARGED MY CREDIT CARD for the next period. I didn't get my money back yet. Show details
Excellent – I live in a new area & have been trying to get broadband for quiet some time, I even had all your big names door knocking offering me deals. In the end Unwired was the only isp that could offer me broadband at any price. TWO THUMBS UP Unwired broadband is nine times faster than my previous dialup account. Keep in mind there are other plans that will deliver higher speeds. Had it for two months so far and cannot find anything bad about it.
Good – Unwired gives you ultimate freedom. When we went on holidays, we stopped paying for a couple of months, and then started paying when we came back. Who lets you do this? Awesome plans. I am waiting for Unwired to set up in Queensland so I can rid myself of my broadband plan and expensive line rental. Unwired Broadband is so flexible. You can go… Read more
anywhere with it. They also offer you so much freedom. You can change plans monthly or even in the middle of the month. The connection is not 100% stable, but then again, neither is the ADSL2 system I have in place which uses a phone line.
Terrible – very poor, coverage is poor. This was probably a good option 3 years ago. I would consider Telstra Nextg or naked DSL or 3... moved. Their advice was that I should take it to another suburb to test it because the coverage in my area might have been lost - but what am I suppossed to do move to suit their service? Eventhough I wasn't able to get online they still wanted to charge me for it and called my up and abused me for not paying the bill, but I refused to pay for a service that I wasn't getting. They refused to cancel the account. I had to end up changing my mobile number to get rid of them. Is very convenient option if living in Sydney or Melbourne. Otherwise not worth having because the coverage is that limited. Also beware of customer service which in my experience was not worth the good points overall. Did not maintain quality of service overtime. Customer service were rude and unhelpful.
Bad – It all started rather well years ago when the choice was rather limited with reasonable and reliable service but lately it the speeds (both dowload and upload) have become unuseable and unstable. Thinking of switching over to something more reliable. Portability and no contract Slow and unreliable speeds. So slow makes Skype unusable Show details
Terrible – overall this product is outdated and is probably relevant in 2003 but today there are so many better ways and options to wireless broadband that offer better coverage, mobility and only a slightly increased price No mobility, today I roam with my Telstra 3G modem , unwireds large modem doesnt offer that feature. Also I notice some form of shaping on their network when conducting downloads and FTP during peak times at night around 9pm-12pm Show details
Terrible – Started out working ok, then over time, it just got worse and worse, to the point it would no working at all. poor support service, they said " cannot fix, just buy a new one" very unsatisfactory performace and service. portable Does not work a lot of the time, slow speeds, unreliable Show details
