Hi, Is the base of the portable cot supposed to be sitting on the ground?

HI I just wanted to check if this cot meets Australian Safety Standards and if you are able to provide any documentation as proof please.

Hi, I have two Valco Zephyr cots as they are fantastic and easy to use however both cots have one small tear each in the front mesh panel. These cots have not been over used and have been well look after. I have tried contacting Valco and continually get a voice recording telling me all operators are busy, please leave a message. These cots are useless to me in their current condition and I would like to know if the material part of the cot can be replaced? I have looked on the Valco website and have had no luck finding this as a purchasing item. Does anyone know if you can replace these? Thanks

Hi everyone, I can't find anywhere (including the valco website!) what the weight and height limit is for children using this cot? Everything just says "Newborn +" with no upper limit. Please help.

Hi Moni Joy, there is no weight limit listed, as the Zephyr Portacot is generally used until the child attempts to start climbing out of it, or reaches a height of 89cms (35") (whichever occurs first). At this point parents should discontinue its use. Since the mattress relies on the floor for support, weight does not become an issue.

What are the dimensions of the cot assembled?

Hello Jen_18, the Zephyr Cot specifications can be viewed on the Valco Baby Zephyr product page under Specs here: external link  . Hope this helps.

Am I able to purchase the removable part of the cot (not the frame) as my mesh has about a 15-20cm tear in it from the mattress?

Hi, I'm unsure - you're best to go direct to Valco, I seem to have lost mine :)

How lovely is Valco Baby! I finally got around to contacting them, and the man I spoke to was very helpful and is organising a replacement for me, free-of-charge. A huge thumbs up to Valco Baby! Thankyou! (An even bigger thankyou when he calls me back to confirm it's on it's way!!)

I have this portacot and am overall very happy with it. Does anyone else find that on the top frame of the cot, that it won't lock into place (where it folds in half to go in the bag)??? Or have I just got a faulty cot?

Valco Baby

HI there, your cot is certainly not faulty. The Zephyr has been designed to fold quickly and therefore the two longer top frames don't lock. If you wish to pick up the cot we suggest using the short frames of the cot.

Can you use this for smaller babies? I was looking for a portable cot with a bassinet layer so it would be easier to put them in and out when they are little. Is it necessary?

I think the Valco would be appropriate. As the sides of the cot are a lot shorter it's fairly easy to put your baby in and out of the cot. My parents had a larger port a cot with bassinet insert which we used at their house however we just use the valco out and about as it's easier to transport and a whole lot easier to put up and down.

You could definitely use it for a smaller baby. It would be a bit awkward putting them into and out of the cot but no more than putting a bigger baby in. You can't use the bassinet attachments on portacots for very long as ther is the risk of rolling.

I hope this helps.

What size will a baby fit in it?

Hi, my baby was 12 weeks when first used cot. Looks to be plenty of room for growing baby to toddler. Same size as baby bjorn travel cot so should fit toddler until 2-3years.
