the keys were being handed over - quite the opposite. They have dropped us like a hot potato, ending with promises but NEVER followed through (COVID could have been an excuse then, but not now). Almost everything that had been "fixed" within the first 2 years have almost all entirely failed again ...WHY, because it was built to the lowest standard. If this was attempted over east the (honest) building inspectors would have got it done again. We are gutted and we'll never recommend this company to anyone, in fact it's a great yard stick for how to deliver a dysfunctional product and get away with it. Would rate integrity as non existent, but they get mighty upset when criticized for doing wrong.

Mixed feelings – The process was quite drawn out with communication lacking (ask a question and it would take multiple people to answer) but considering Covid was in full swing, we accepted that. dips and bumps in the gyprock bog etc, areas they were bogged and not sanded or painted, an obvious hole in the wall bogged where the front door has hit it. Some of the skirting has come off mysteriously, cracked around the gyprock to window areas, the vinyl plank floor has lifted in a couple spots etc etc. one door handle has already broken in the spare bathroom (has been used once by visitors) and many others have come loose. There was about 5-6 months where the house sat (before handover) where the floor was half done and seemingly nothing else left to do. Even though it was just under $300k to build, it feels and looks very cheap - it has even been mentioned to us from friends sadly and it has ultimately left a sour taste.
We are awaiting the warranty inspection at the 6 month mark for all these annoying problems to be sorted. I would never go through this process again nor would I recommend it.

Our build came in under budget & the workmanship & overall quality is to a high standard...overall building our family home was pleasant & easy not at all what we were told by family & friends when we first mentioned we were building :)

The planning stage of the process was painful to say the least. Having gone through multiple people as they struggled with stability in employment of the positions, details were left out constantly and had to be re-hashed every time I was passed to a new person.
After having initially signed with someone for a price of ~$245,000 for the home, when this person left to be employed by a different builder, I was told that they could not continue with this price and was told the new price would be a minimum of $264,000.
The constant loss of employees and re-hiring resulted in my pre-start spanning multiple weeks, and going past my settlement date; because of this, when labour costs rose, I was hit with steep price increases (in excess of $10,000) as settlement wasn’t achieved on the set date. After having asked to add different points in that were spoken in person to have put in writing, it was conveniently forgotten about or never received, causing me to not have a paper trail to follow to argue the price increases.

waterproofing in bathrooms and due to the hand over at that point it was missed. The rest of the build was pretty much flawless. They were waiting on my front door for roughly 3 months and rather than delay the lock up and internal fittings, they secured a board over my front door so they could continue with the works and not delay my build time further. Not the most secure but definitely efficient. Very happy with my home and they continue to support me post-build as small things pop up. E.g. The air conditioning units were wired wrong and when I realised they weren't working they had someone at my house the next day to fix the issue.
Our New Home – Firstly, our home was built smack, bang in the middle of covid 19. Having said that, we were frustrated, often. good at his job, ensuring we got the home we wanted, not what he thought was nice. Our coordinator & building Supervisor bore the brunt of our frustration & always handled it professionally. The end result was evident in the expression on my wife's face when we walked through the home for the first time together as the "owners". "Wow, I love it"! she said. The workmanship was good, all throughout the build and the finished home was worth the wait. We were also extremely happy with the advice regarding our decor/colour scheme choices from both the Ventura Southwest team & external contractors. We are the third in our family to build with Ventura Southwest, following 2 of our children & are ways happy to recommend them to anyone who asks us, "Who did you build with"?

Great service so far – We we’re worried about going with Ventura due to a few things we have heard on the internet but our sales rep eased our mind, he has been awesome! Such an easy person to talk to. Keeping up with constant communication, advising us on the best items to add to our home but keeping to our budget. He has helped us tremendously. idea what was going on with each stage of the build, and had long delays for responses, and we even had to give our construction manager updates that we became aware of when visiting site, rather than the other way around. We had multiple price increases during the build, so ended up spending a lot more than we had planned, and also had to re-select flooring and fixings a long time after pre-start due to unavailability. Quality of the build is great, and we are very happy with the final product, however we are very put off from building with Ventura again due to the unorganised and delayed nature of the construction stage.

Never build with Ventura again – Our last home built was our fifth house we built under the banner of Ventura Home Group. Half way through the build, BGC took over ownership of the business. to finish and was reasonably happy. Come maintence time, it took 2 years to resolve the maintenance issues. Constant following up from our part and even to date, there is still an oustanding issue. Constant promises and assurances and even then the builder reneged on their verbal and written promises that they would complete the issue. Decided to go through the Building Commission, but the builder knows how to play the game and prolong the process. We decided to drop the complaint with the Building Commission as our mental heath and well being was far more important. Word of mouth is the best form of advertisement and there will be no recommendations from us. Our future builds will definately not be with Ventura South West (formally Ventura Home Group South West) They really need to learn the value of Customer Service.

question answered in quick time same as emails sent. I did have to rechose flooring and carpet again as what I had picked was no longer available but I was happy with that as it refreshed my mind for colours etc. The installation of the inside works was a fairly quick process. The site supervisor was good. There is a few things that need adjusting so will wait for the 6 month catch up. I waited almost 2.5yrs from start of signing paperwork til handover, the wait was definitely worth it to be in my own place!
Excellent ! – Ventura were so easy to deal with and had great communication throughout the process making sure we understood everything. Some wiggle room on timeliness – I am mostly quite happy with VSW as the parties I’ve been liaising with thus far, have always been excellent with communication. I do feel however, improvements could be made on their timeliness of completing some components. For context, I was in the prestart stage for 13weeks. persistent delay. Start of build was great and communication was great. Our construction consultant Marina Reimers has been great throughout this experience, keeping us updated and doing everything in her power. Now we live in our home, we couldn't be happier. There were few little things that needed fixing but have been resolved so quickly and efficiently…huge thanks to our construction supervisor Damian and construction consultant Marina. All in all my partner and I are very happy with the build and would highly recommend Ventura.

Ventura built – Ventura went above and beyond to get us to where we are today, however things did fall apart towards the end of the build when I had to do more the following up than what they did back.
