Best of the best! – This was my first ever Weber product. It’s now 15 years old and with use every other day it’s going strong. I had to replace the regulator about 5 years ago, which with the amount of use it gets was totally expected and acceptable. When I phoned Weber to order the part they were very very helpful. This product has been the catalyst for me to… Read more ·  1

increase my collection to 4 Weber products over the years. And I still love this BBQ like the day I got it. I highly recommend Weber products. The only brand I use when it comes to barbecue.

Useless for caravan – So, purchased Webber Baby Q for our caravan, then found we are unable to connect to caravan bayonet legally, due to not having a flame fail safeguard. OK, followed up and device becoming available in November 2023. Wait it out until then. Device is finally available... at $199 per device. What the.... So my Webber Baby Q cast $320 + accessories… Read more

and now another $199 for this device. Turning into a very expensive BBQ. Think I'll go get the Ziggy that has all this, for a lot less at $319.

Every home should have one – Weber Q 1000 with a long hose. Very solid construction and features are designed well. Igniter switch makes it easy to start. Control burner knob for gas output. Lid handle is cool to touch when in operation. The drip tray is easily accessible and visible to remove to clean. This beauty is small enough to store inside your home or shed. … Read more ·  2

When I say " Every home should have one" I mean it. Any power blackouts and you're still going to be able to cook a meal for your family. Perfect for camping and even cooking on the balcony. There are extras for this BBQ like a separate 1/2 hotplate if you want to cook eggs etc so you're really covered. It's the best little BBQ we've had here. It's big enough to cook for a family of 4 -6.

My first bbq furnace – Bought the Weber Baby q for my balcony and even outing use which is quite easy to take with. I buy this one because friend recommended and myself also checked product review rating. It is easy to use and temperature stable. It is potable bbq so I have to prepare a rack for it. The original rack is way to expensive. Generally I am happy with this bbq and what it performs in future. Show details ·  1

Beware: Plastic frames melt – I have owned 2 of these Webers now (one familyQ and one BabyQ) , they are a good BBQ other than the dangerous fault of the steel frame melting the plastic stands when roasting. This has happened to me twice now, yesterday being the latest incident. Its a bad fault for an expensive BBQ so they need to built with a steel stand. Contacted company and hoping for a full refund on both BBQ's...but won't hold my breath. Show details

Flame safeguard device on Baby Qs not retrospective!!! – For months or probably even years now Weber has copped a lot of flack from their customers about Weber’s lack of traction in getting a bbq with a flame safeguard to market. Ziggy has done it but Weber hasn’t. In response Weber has been at pains to say they’ve been developing a unique solution that won’t require a gas fitter to fit and that it’s… Read more

being tested but it’s ‘coming’.

I was absolutely dumbfounded when I received an email from Weber on 24 March 2023. In short Weber announced in this email (for the first time) that the new provisions are not retrospective. They said “The updates are not retrospective, and do not apply to gas barbecues manufactured before re-certification. If your barbecue does not have the permanent marking on the data label or packaging, it was manufactured prior to re-certification and it is still can be connected to a bayonet fitting on a caravan by a non-qualified person.“ I understand this ‘recertification’ occurred in or around September 2022.

So in other words all those people who have Webers manufactured before this recertification event had absolutely nothing to worry about. They never did! Weber should have said that ages ago! Unfortunately Weber has caused angst and confusion amongst their customers and they’ve lost a lot of business as a result.

Compact, great cooking, not disappointed – Purchased at Christmas as we’ve moved to a smaller house and had no space for our previous six burner. Six months of use on, and we are not disappointed. We’ve cooked all sorts of things in here and so far, no complaints: Steak, chicken kebabs, croc kebabs, fish in foil, patties, sausages, eggplant slices, corn ..... no drama. It does cook… Read more ·  1

relatively fast, so we are Do the proper preparation: Get our accompaniments ready, bring our product to room temp, preheat the BBQ, pay attention to our cooking times. I suspect those with complaints may not adhere to that system. Our old BBQ, it took ages to cook, at cool spots, and it made the cooking a bit of a drawn out affair. If you want to stand around your BBQ for an hour turning sausages, this one is not for you.

We’re a family of four, perfect size for us, and I’ve cooked for six no problem. If you’re planning regulate large cook ups, you need a bigger size.

Plates clean easily. We did take on board a recommendation to get the Weber Q cleaner to help with shifting the grease out of the domed lid and I’m glad we did.

No regrets.

Baby Q maintains Weber standard! – G’day all, I was compelled to write this review after reading the negatives. I have owned a Weber Genesis E-330 for over 6 years and just can’t fault it. Workmanship, cooking ability (not always mine) and consistently! When receiving this Baby Q as a promo from a wholesaler I was a bit dubious of its abilities. Well, just like being at home,… Read more

I was wrong again!

It’s cooked great lamb rump steaks, heated up roti bread, cooked a butterflied lamb (remember to bring all meat up to room temperature prior to cooking) and a fantastic 30mm porterhouse last night!

It’s unfortunate that a few users have allegedly experienced some issues with the unit reaching temp prior to use but I’ve had only good experience with Weber.

When my Genesis was supplied and installed 6 years ago I received a call from the Weber installer letting me know the unit was commissioned and ready for use (natural gas model). He also informed me that he had noticed a scratch on the hood and would order a replacement. After inspection that night for the life of me I couldn’t find a scratch! I assured home of this but sure enough a new hood arrived and it’s still sitting in my attic ready for a Weber anniversary of some sort.

Buy it. You won’t be disappointed. Just follow the rules.

If your looking you’re not cooking!

Keep the lid down!

Regards

Wes

Great small BBQ – We received this in 2017 as a freeby for buying a carpet. We have been most happy with its performance. For 2 people it is ideal. When we have guests or a small turkey we will use a larger BBQ. We are in the south of Australia but use it all year. We cook most meat outside on it in all seasons. We recently could not light it but found that a… Read more

Love our baby Weber Q – We love the Weber q. It's quick and easy to fire up and can serve easily a family of 4. This is great for a impromptu steak night or ever cutlets which the kids love. I though having such a small bbq would not be great but it's actually a space saver and does exactly what we need when we need it Show reply

What? – It's hard to believe the poor reviews for this BBQ. We have owned 3 Baby Weber's over the years and have nothing but the highest praise for them. To ChrisL... to expect to BBQ on any plate without leaving some evidence is ludicrous. Forget the poor reviews, this baby is a cracker. Show details ·  1

The grill plates are disappointing – I followed all the instructions accurately and viewed Weber’s video clip about how to keep the bbq clean using a bowl of hot soapy water and a sponge scourer. The first time I used the bbq the food was cooked nicely. But the disappointment was the cleaning of the porcelain grill plates. The black pieces mostly came off but it still left some … Read more

black stains even after giving it a bit of elbow grease. They can’t be removed. I spent the extra $ thinking that I was buying a quality product. I’m not convinced. I phoned customer service and was told that it is natural to get carbon build up on the plates over time. (What? Even after the first use?!). It was suggested that I apply a paste of bicarbonate and lemon and leave overnight. I pointed out that the carbon build up on the plates is not disclosed anywhere on their website or in any leaflets, and if I had known this I might have thought twice about buying it.

I am very disappointed.

Long live the Baby Q – I purchased my Q1000 way back in 2007 and soon all the add ons like the side table, pizza tray, grill tray, light, cover and cart. It has been one of the best purchases I have made, lasting longer than three cars. It still looks pretty new and does the job from picnics to NYE parties at home. Coming to the close of 2020, (yes, I’ve had it for 13… Read more

years) the only complaint is the feet on the trolley rusted and it fell over and it’s hard to get a replacement as series 2 trolleys don’t fit series 1 Baby Q’s. So unless I find a trolley/cart that fits on the second hard market, I might upgrade to the Q2200. My family had had other brands in the past, but Weber had proven its longevity in three family households and I simply won’t consider any other brand.

Amazing Little BBQ – I love our Weber Baby Q. We opted for the smaller version and it's excellent for camping and roasts. We've also bought the trivet which is a must for roasting and that cleaned up perfectly in the dishwasher.

We always have ours covered when cooking and then put away in its carry bag so unsure how it would go out in the weather but it feels super premium so I suspect as good as any other BBQ.

This won't be replacing our big BBQ but for small steaks and roasts it's our go to!

"Portability" – I know that Weber Baby Q requires a 4.5kg to 9kg gas cylinder. However, is it still possible for me to use one that is smaller than 4.5kg? For portability, I would think a smaller gas cylinder is more appropriate. For example Bunnings only sells gas cylinders weighing 3.7kg and 8.5kg. I am a bit disappointed that I need to buy a heavier gas cylinder as this compromises the portability of the Weber Baby Q.
