to really sear thick steaks - using a temperature probe it's only just over 200° at the grate after pre-heat compared to the Performer which can get over 260° - plus you don't get those lovely charcoal flavours. It is much easier to clean than the Performer (it's much smaller to start with) and as it lives on a covered deck and has the fitted cover, it's only the cooking surfaces that need anything other than a wipe over. Overall we're happy with it and it is really good at things like a quick breakfast grille (eggs/bacon/sausages/tomatoes) where the higher temps aren't needed and you get a speedy result.

Not the best – Ok, a lot of hype however. Don’t produce a lot of heat. I’ve also come across 3 that have had regulator problems too, apparently common. Wouldn’t buy another one but not throwing it in the dump. Show details

the only thing this is good for is low heat cooking like roasts, so tried a lamb roast, lamb dripped into tray cause flare ups and then a small fire which I put out and removed meat turned it off, ate dinner and then when cleaning later noticed it was lopsided!! The thing had melted the frame WTH! WHO MAKES A BBQ OUT OF PLASTIC. the only insulation from the frame is a small washer.

I followed all the nonsense videos on you tube about cooking. I took it back to shop where I bought it and guy says never seen that happen, (quick Google search says its common) Shop dragged it out for months getting new parts, as soon as they arrived, the price of crap was on the net for sale, never will I own one again.

Oh and the other thing sunbeam innova and gasmate odyssey 2 bbqs have is control over both sides whereas this bbq has one control for the whole thing which is also a Pita as you have to use one heat setting for all that's being cooked.

keep clean and maintain. But the best point of all is the incredible after-sales service Weber provides...amazingly friendly, helpful and generous beyond expectation. My Weber Q 2200 had a bit of paint peel on the lid when it was over 4 years old, they replaced the lid & thermometer free of charge. When I had problems with the natural gas connection, they sent a service guy out to look at it, fix it, replace the gas connector & regulator - all at no charge. And about a year ago I asked to purchase a new battery ignition kit: they replaced it for me free of charge ("there's a lifetime warranty of that" I was told). How better can you get?? Weber's after-sales service is truly THE gold standard which all other businesses should consider replicating...but I bet they don't!!! Well done Weber Australia!

So when my latest 4 burner reached the end of it's useful life, encouraged by numerous positive online forum posts about the Weber Q barbeques, I decided to take the plunge and buy one, opting for the Premuim with it's higher hood and built-in temperature guage.

One year later I can say that it has completely changed my outlook on BBQs. Cooking to specific times and temperatures have made it a lot easier to produce good results. I did lots of reading, and watched several online videos to get an idea of how to do things. I also invested in a cheap digital timer and a temperature probe. Cooking steak, lamb, chicken and sausages is now really just a matter of cooking to the times specified. And I don't have to stand at the barbie while it is cooking - I am free to socialise, and simply have to turn the meat when the timer beeps. Steak is done in around 6 minutes, chicken thighs in about 25 minutes. The smokey flavour is fantastic, and you can enahce this further by placing a small al-foil pack with some wood chips in while the Q is heating up. Salmon done on a cedar plank is delicious and easy. We have found that we now mostly cook our meat in the Q instead of the oven, and vegetables like broccoli and asparagus.

It uses way less gas than my other BBQs, and is easy to keep clean. The triangular wire brush (thrown in as a freebie by the shop we bought it from) makes short work of the bits on the grill. We invested in the roasting trivett which enables you to do roasts.

All in all, it has honestly changed my whole attitude to BBQs. I can now produce good, consistent results on the grill. I'm definitely a fan of the Weber Q.

Great after sales service – Have owned a weber BBQ for 15 plus years. My Push Button Igniter stopped working properly and sent an e-mail to weber about it.. within a day had a reply and within a week had a new Igniter delivered to my door all free of any costs to me. Gets really hot without having hot spots, easy to use and clean and my brother in-law, who is the 'know it all Greek BBQ King' (self-proclaimed) cannot get enough of using it when he comes over and loves the results. It gets really hot, really fast, the thermometer is very helpful and we absolutely love this unit. We mostly keep the lid down and the flavour of the meat and speed of BBQing is better than the other two. My highest recommendation. A++++

Weber support desk and all I got was an "ok we'll send you the missing bits in the mail". No information when they will arrive and no offer of compensation for the failure and inconvenience, even when i hinted that might be the right thing to do..Would I buy another Weber product or recommend them?

Just simply amazing and great customer service – The Webber I’ve got is now over 7 years old and still functions like new and we use it as our oven for our house. A while ago the battery exploded in the ignition and Webber sent out a new one and received it the next day. great value for money – Purchased it 2 years ago, and it still looks new. Heat distribution is good, quality of the grill is amazing. So far has 0 rust and cleanse easy. I would recommend to add a native pressure adapter to see gas level, but the rest cannot complaint. Show details

We find it is super economical in how it uses gas and is so easy to clean and move around compared to those huge unwieldy stainless steel four burner barbecues that everyone has.

We love everything about it except for the flimsiness of the side tables that pop out. They are too bendy and virtually useless for anything over 500g.

Love love love my weber Q, customer support is A+ – What does this bbq not cook well, steaks come out perfectly, the most succulent roasts you've ever had, I've baked cakes in it, bacon comes out crispy and delicious. We have had a few issues with it as we live by the ocean and weber has replaces parts for us every single time even when it was past its 5 year warranty! Outstanding! Show details
