Hi there, sadly the door must be replaced. This cost us $600 and then the new door sagged in due course! All because Westinghouse cut design corners and didn't include a replaceable hinge. I recomnend contacting Westinghouse and then posting their response on this site. Good luck !

I was told that I needed to pay for a technician to visit and determine whether it was 'fixable'. Given the cost and the likelihood that it wasn't fixable, I decided against this. When I spoke to Westinghouse, they eventually (and initially relunctantly) offered me a new fridge at a 'staff discount' which was very attractive.

I have been advised by generic fridge mechanics, that this is a design fault with all Westinghouse fridge door Lower hinges...they break. You have two choices purchase another Westinghouse fridge door at $400.00 OR contact a general fridge mechanic & have them make up a new bottom hinge. I chose the later option, which cost me $50.00 TOTAL. As because of both the very bad after sales service from Electrolux/Westinghouse I chose to give the work/ money to a small business operator.Since having the generic fridge door hinge fitted, the door works better than it ever did before. I think Viva Espana's solution is the best idea if you can find a fridge mechanic to do the job.

Pip ini, I have heard of another person making up a steel L piece that is fixed to the Botton of the door to replace the plastic that has collapsed. If you or someone you know can do this it may fix the problem it might be a bit fiddly. Hope this helps!
