Where is the button for carousel on & off
Hi Shaynie, I`m almost certain that the Model. JT359 MIcrowave doesn`t have the feature of a "TURNTABLE BUTTON" !! Some Whirlpool models do have the function where you can stop the Carousel to use larger dishes etc ......... but just to be sure....It`s probably best to give Whirlpool a call ... Cheers
Hi Shaynie, This microwave does not have an option to toggle the turntable on or off. Regards
My carousel has stopped. What should I do ?
Hi Shaynie,
Please give our Tech Support Team a call on 1300 762 219 for further assistance.

How can i bake a choco cake in whirpool jt'359?
I wish I could help you with this.....BUT ..I haven`t ever tried baking cakes in the micro......the manual says you can though. Maybe you could experiment with a small cake first and see how that goes ?? I have read about others who have had great success .......even baking fruit cakes in their Whirlpool. Good Luck....... hope you unlock the "secret' to cooking yummy cakes soon !!
Hi Robert, Cakes can be cooked in the microwave on the Forced Air or Forced Air Combi function with the cake on a wire rack to help the air circulate properly. Check the recipe to see the exact time/temperature for the cake you want to make. Regards
I have used the ordinary cook setting for baking cakes, etc
How do you get the fan to stop and light to go off after it's finished cooking?
Hi Colitha, The oven has a cooling cycle to prevent overheating. During this cycle, the light and fan are both operate, and the cycle will finish when the oven has cooled down to a safe temperature. Regards
what is the price of JT359?
My microwave is not working, I call service engineer to service he said this model is discontinue so I am not able to repair so I request you to guide me what is the way forward, please advice.
If you are comfortable with manual work get one of this
Whirlpool Microwave Oven Magnetron 6MT744IX JT369SL VT256SL (on ebay)
Few videos on YouTube on how to replace it
Good luck
Hi Nitin, Probably the only advice I would give is ....... as this Model has been discontinued and unable to be repaired.........may be a good idea to try and look for a secondhand one on Ebay or Gumtree??? Just keep watching...they do become available quite frequently and are usually cheap. Good Luck !!!
Thanks for advice.
what do the asseries symbols mean?
Which one
Is it worthwhile fixing if not working? Beeps and cannot change settings.
Hi Estelle, The only thing I can think of is >>> to just turn the microwave off at the wall>>>>> leave it for an hour or so >>> switch it back on and hopefully it has re-set it`s "little brain"..... It`s worth a try ... I `m lucky and haven`t had any problems at all with mine. Good Luck.. B
How to replace the bulb
Hi, I no longer have a manual for my microwave ...but If you just download a copy for the Whirlpool JT359 ...it should tell you how to change the bulb safely. Good Luck.
How much current at maximum wattage does the JT359/ALU microwave draw?
HI Mary G, The JT359 I have is listed as follows ... Microwave Power >up to 1,000. Grill Power > up to 1,200. Convection Power > 1.500.
8 Power Levels . I have found this microwave excellent so far. Happy Cooking Bella !
Have just been given a whirlpool J359 convection microwave from my mum-in-law who hasn't used it as her late husband used to be the cook in their house & I can't for the life of me get it to bring up the quick heat function so I can preheat. Can anyone here help please?
Hi Mrs G, I must say ...I hardly ever used this particular feature.....and now my son has the JT359 Micro ......... BUT ......, I think this is how I remember it....... .Here goes >> Press the CONVECTION BUTTON and set to the "required" temp.... say for instance..220 C. >>set the timer dial to ...for instance > 10 > 15 mins and then press START. The oven should start to heat up and from memory ...the display will tell you how hot it is getting ....sometimes you might need to put the timer on again for bit longer and you need to press START again >>> till you get the temp you want.>>> It should display the temp before you put your food in. (it`s one of those things that is much easier to just show someone rather than try and explain it in these rather complicated steps) I have actually bought two of the older Models ...I find they were much more "user friendly") ..... Good Luck... Bella.
Where can I download a manual for the JT 359/ALU Whirlpool microwave, oven, and grill?
Go to Whirlpool Australia.com and find the JT359 page it will have User guides on its page. Click this and there are 4 guides to download. the first appears to be a recipe book, the second is the manual for using the JT359, the third is a quick guide to the JT359 and the 4th is another recipe book. Click on the one you need and download it..I have never seen the quick guide before but will download one myself as I am constantly referring to the manual. The recipe books are not that great and the manual the same. Good luck. Cheers Pat
Hello fellow JT359 users!
Can anyone tell me, if the convection oven can be used without operating the microwave. I want to grill chicken as well baking cookies without the combination of microwave. I mean just baking and grilling alone without using microwave. I use microwave only to heat or warm food. I have had an old Siemens for over 15 yrs. and used the convection, grill, conventional oven extra but i must left it in Germany as we transfered hier in the Philippines. And yet I got this JT359 and not sure if the convection oven can be used alone without combining with microwave.
Thanks.. and hope if anyone can tell me.
Hi sorry have not used my convection to cook much so cannot help. Instruction book suggests roasting, etc on "forced air" which does not use microwave..have done biscuits on this. Grilling - don't know. Good luck with your cooking. Regards. Pat
My baking with oven only works a treat.
We get an Err2-messages on the display. Can anyone tell me what that means? The fan is getting kind of noisy, but the machine seems to work properly.
Hi Wieke..Dont think I can be of much help, as have not had this problem with either unit. Suggest disconnecting machine and reconnecting (works for my computer) if setting clock keep door open to allow time to do it properly. Otherwise you could ring whirlpool on 1300 363 344 they should be able to help. I agree fan is noisy and this unit is noisier than my previous model. Good luck and best wishes Pat
After the Err2 got worse; the machine stalled; started again; time went running up after opening the door () we solved the problem by buying the younger brother: JT379SW. An excellent machine!
What is the price of this?
Hello Carmel06, I paid around $500 for mine..... sounds expensive...but worth every cent. My daughter has one and it`s 15 years old. I have two and hardly ever use my conventional oven any more.(saves heaps on power bills). I think the current Model is JT369...........Shop around for the best deal........ good luck.... Bella.
My original Convecion Whirlpool made in Sweden finally malfunctioned and regrettably threw it away instead of repair.Bought
a Blanco which is worse than useless.
Need a convecion to fit in the following aperture
depth .445
height .330
width.600
Cant seem to find anything on the Internet, any suggestions? My cupboards were built around my old Whirlpool hence restrictions on size.
Price n o barrier, prefer a European make, but not holding my breath for something made in Europe/USA
look at the whirpool vt266 299 height x 521 width x depth 391 this is a crisp girll 'convection whirpool microwave. I have had two and swear by the brand and the quality of the product. Problem is nowdays that they are getting bigger in size to act as second convection ovens and a lot of kitchens are equipped to fit them. My other half is a cabinet maker so I know this is happening a lot, even fridges are bigger, and he had to change a few things here to fit my current microwave. Good luck but I realy do recommend the whirpool and am suprised about you bad luck with your previous whirpool. Cheers Meg
Thanks for your response,I didn't have bad luck with my original Whirlpool, it was perfect in fact more than perfect but after 10 years or so played up and rather than repair it (regrettably) threw it out not having any idea that I was about to experience trouble in replacing it.In my ignorance I assumed all Convection Microwaves were there sameWill proceed with your welcome suggestion.Regards Gerald Paech
Hi Paech...That VT266 Model is 24lt cap.I think your old micro may have been the same as mine.. an AVM230 ,cost around $550 when I bought it...(made in Sweden)and is 31.ltcap.It is actually over 15years old. It fits into your measurements perfectly..... This Model is often for sale on EBAY....my daughter recently got one of these for $105 ...hardly been used.(it`s worth considering for the time being ....till you find another new Model that you really like.... Nothing worse than spending money on something you will never be happy with!!) The new Whirlpool Model JT369 is a really good microwave too ...but unfortunately the shape is all wrong for your cabinet.. Sorry I can`t be much help re other brands ...I`ve always stuck with the Whirlpools as I know they are quality. If all else fails...you could resort to sitting a JT369 on your workbench. Good Luck...I hope you can find a good European one somewhere soon that fits the jigsaw . Warmest Regards... Bella.
Bella Thankyou, hadn't thought of looking at Ebay, I will do so and yes I think I did pay in excess of $500 for the Whirlpool and obviously the same that you have , I had no idea on Microwaves/convection and assumed all would be the same. How wrong can you be.Have now decided to keep my useless Blanco, monitor Ebay and should a Whirlpool come up with the correct dimensions, buy it at what ever the cost and consign the Blanco to where it belongs, the scrap heap.Thank you again for your advice and time in sending g me the Email.Regards Gerald Paech.PS I am so sick of buying Chinese products and quite happy to pay double to get something that works and lasts
The Whirlpool microwave sounds great I can't seem to find a retailer in Aust and even the Whirlpool site fails to load.
Where did you purchase your oven from?
Are you still happy with it?
Thanks Kerry
