There were several moments where I was stuck between choices or unsure whether an upgrade would be worthwhile. Instead of trying to upsell me, she talked me through the practical pros and cons, showed me different combinations, and even suggested alternatives that suited both my style and budget. Those conversations gave me confidence that I was making the right decisions, not just expensive ones.
What I appreciated most was that Kara encouraged me to take my time. There was never any pressure to rush decisions, and every question, no matter how many I asked, were answered with patience and enthusiasm. Kara celebrated the little design wins with me, whether it was finally finding the perfect flooring, matching cabinetry colours, or working through laundry colour layout changes until they felt right.
Building a home is such a personal experience, and I walked away feeling like my vision had genuinely been heard and understood. I wasn't just another appointment in the diary, I felt like someone who was being helped to create a home that reflected my family and the way we'll live in it for years to come.
Thank you Kara for making what could have been a stressful process one of the most enjoyable parts of our build. I genuinely can't wait to see it all come together.

Error after error AFTER ERROR, then bailed with invented reasons – Prior to my last rating 9 months ago of exceptional, Wilson Homes failed to continue in this manner. Sole female income earner with 2 adult disability sons living at home. How hard would it be to build a house to suit all requirements? Very hard… Read more
apparently when asking to be presented with an error free plan for the last 9 months; same errors (outdoor shower and laundry door opening accessibility), then Wilson Homes late 2023 threw another being not transparent that they had a fixed price quoting error in retaining walls. Worked through retaining wall, other two issues continued with numerous requests to rectify. How hard is it to have a usable laundry door and an outdoor shower for dog grooming? 9 months of hard, that's how hard; but wait! Early 2024 Wilson Homes submitted for planning approval and drafting threw in yet another error of an indoor heat pump unit on a ducted heating plan!!!
I cancelled the meeting for today via email until such time as I could be presented with an error free plan. Today I received an email and letter from regional manager saying as I had failed to appear for the meeting, and due to Wilson Homes deciding 'for me' that I can't afford this build (without asking me, $140k+ income for this financial year!!!!) they will not be proceeding to build a house for me.
I had finished all selections end 2023, just waited for drafting to get the house plans correct, my affordability had doubled in the interim as I worked my butt off to achieve this.
Just a waste of time since first contact 9th June 2023, at a cost of over $30,000 for myself. See google reviews for more.
Avoid... This circus can't even get an outdoor shower right (not a new thing ah) and a laundry door to open. I'm embarrassed for Wilson Homes that plans were even sent to me with these errors having slipped through all the checks they apparently have.
One year wasted. Traumatic end experience.
Great sales pitch, at start.... All downhill from there. AVOID.

I purchased an already built 2yo.home that had a lay out to suit an all adult household, with extra features I wouldn't have obtained with Wilson without cost (high ceilings, solar panels, heat pump hot water etc)... A roller-coaster experience – We had a roller-coaster of a building experience. When first contacting Wilson Homes, and through the planning stage we dealt with Peter. started off great, until we were passed around between project managers. I was unable to get any contact for weeks at a time, despite calling and being promised a same day call back.
These delays pushed our pre-build past our 12 month fixed price contract. Miraculously only days after the contract expired, everything was ready to go. Along with an extra $30k+ price if we wanted to proceed.
Once the build had started, Luke and Aaron were wonderful and were in contact almost weekly to keep us updated.
We then moved in.
After 90 days we were tasked to submit and defects we had noticed for Wilson Homes to address.
When the initial inspection was taking place we were informed somebody would be in touch within the next 3-4 weeks to make a time to fix the defects. Over 3 months later I called to follow up when they would be attending. The next day an appointment was scheduled.
Most defects were fixed, but others took months. One being the pooling of water under the subfloor of the house. After inspection from Wilson Homes it was declared that drainage was unsatisfactory and would be fixed. This took many more weeks of myself chasing Wilson Homes to find an answer.
Months later the drainage was fixed, but water still appeared underneath the house.
I discovered that Wilson Homes had not connected the bath to anything and it was dumping straight under the floor. This had been signed off by a building inspector.
Other issues we encountered:
Bathroom glass was changed to a glass that can be seen through.
Driveway drains not installed.
Leak in sinks.
House full of condensation every morning.
Balustrades rusting after only 12 months.
Deck posts barely sitting on footings by centre meters.
If you build with Wilson Homes, please be your own advocate and research everything thoroughly.

extra due to the negligence of the builders mistakes of hitting rock when excavating - we were not responsible. Obviously a thorough inspection of the land was not performed. - Wilson Homes tried to get over $4,600 out of us and only gave us 7 days notice. - Staff were questioning if we were certain that we owned our block of land. - Our plans were forgotten about - this was admitted after questioning. - Deadlines were ignored - leaving us in immense stress. Again, this was admitted after complaints.
Post Construction:
- We have been waiting 2 months for our kitchen drawer handle and have still not received it. - 12 cm gap left under the fencing around the entire block. - Carpet was not installed properly - it started coming out almost instantly. - Our landscaping was not complete. We were presented plans of landscaping and the project coordinator pointing out our trees/plants we would get ect. When we complained to Wilson Homes regarding this, they first responded with the wrong plans and then proceeded to say our plans that were presented to us we would not receive. - Our once flat block of land has been left with a very steep bank. - Copious amounts of left over woodchip was left in our front yard.

a decent size lot. Not to mention we couldn’t get communication with our sales consultant and actually had to email a few other girls who where really good and did try help. We finally got in contact with our sales consultant For her to tell me she’s been moved on into another department so our build ended up a complete screw up!

build something special for us, they have built us a beautiful home and we love it. Had a few clarification issues with terminology on what was to be done in contract and had to come to agreements to make right. The national “customer service” team when responding to issues or feedback flick an email acting to care as the only process, no actual phone call or discussion. The post build follow up has been good, although tried to have my wife sign off on completion when list of rectifications was not complete, so had to again ensure things come to the end correctly, a few more things to rectify, but seem to be making sure all the settling in items are seen too. Have requested item that was identified by their inspection team be reviewed and again the “customer service” team have not responded. Again left wondering about the care. Just hoping to get to actual completion with what we paid for and so that we may enjoy our home for years to come. Had some items rectified, independent inspection of noisy heating, which was agreed upon, was to file report, still left hanging with no contact. Used secondary installer for reporting that did not note all of issue, so now has been labelled my problem. With lack of integrity showing, we decided to walk away from Wilson Homes for support and will address final issues ourselves at our own cost. A disappointing end to what could have been a much more positive review based on other aspects.
