I had the pleasure of working with Maddison to select the interior and exterior colours and features of my coastal home. It was a wonderful experience from start to finish. Maddison is very professional, knowledgeable and extremely helpful when assisting with materials and colour palettes that compliment each other. Our experience with MyChoice design studios Hobart has been excellent. All staff were professional, knowledgeable and very helpful when making our selections. A roller-coaster experience – We had a roller-coaster of a building experience. When first contacting Wilson Homes, and through the planning stage we dealt with Peter. started off great, until we were passed around between project managers. I was unable to get any contact for weeks at a time, despite calling and being promised a same day call back.

These delays pushed our pre-build past our 12 month fixed price contract. Miraculously only days after the contract expired, everything was ready to go. Along with an extra $30k+ price if we wanted to proceed.

Once the build had started, Luke and Aaron were wonderful and were in contact almost weekly to keep us updated.

We then moved in.

After 90 days we were tasked to submit and defects we had noticed for Wilson Homes to address.

When the initial inspection was taking place we were informed somebody would be in touch within the next 3-4 weeks to make a time to fix the defects. Over 3 months later I called to follow up when they would be attending. The next day an appointment was scheduled.

Most defects were fixed, but others took months. One being the pooling of water under the subfloor of the house. After inspection from Wilson Homes it was declared that drainage was unsatisfactory and would be fixed. This took many more weeks of myself chasing Wilson Homes to find an answer.

Months later the drainage was fixed, but water still appeared underneath the house.

I discovered that Wilson Homes had not connected the bath to anything and it was dumping straight under the floor. This had been signed off by a building inspector.

Other issues we encountered:

Bathroom glass was changed to a glass that can be seen through.

Driveway drains not installed.

Leak in sinks.

House full of condensation every morning.

Balustrades rusting after only 12 months.

Deck posts barely sitting on footings by centre meters.

If you build with Wilson Homes, please be your own advocate and research everything thoroughly.

Absolutely devastated! – A few years ago this was definitely the company to build with! a decent size lot. Not to mention we couldn’t get communication with our sales consultant and actually had to email a few other girls who where really good and did try help. We finally got in contact with our sales consultant For her to tell me she’s been moved on into another department so our build ended up a complete screw up!

Wilson Homes Overall – *Was very clunky during the admin, and then asked for more money from initial “locked in” commitment. Had to work closely and be a little pushy to get build signed off before contract ended and be left open to pricing review, came down to last week. build something special for us, they have built us a beautiful home and we love it. Had a few clarification issues with terminology on what was to be done in contract and had to come to agreements to make right. The national “customer service” team when responding to issues or feedback flick an email acting to care as the only process, no actual phone call or discussion. The post build follow up has been good, although tried to have my wife sign off on completion when list of rectifications was not complete, so had to again ensure things come to the end correctly, a few more things to rectify, but seem to be making sure all the settling in items are seen too. Have requested item that was identified by their inspection team be reviewed and again the “customer service” team have not responded. Again left wondering about the care. Just hoping to get to actual completion with what we paid for and so that we may enjoy our home for years to come. Had some items rectified, independent inspection of noisy heating, which was agreed upon, was to file report, still left hanging with no contact. Used secondary installer for reporting that did not note all of issue, so now has been labelled my problem. With lack of integrity showing, we decided to walk away from Wilson Homes for support and will address final issues ourselves at our own cost. A disappointing end to what could have been a much more positive review based on other aspects.
