really good cover, paid out claim in full, service a little slow – I took out travel insurance for skiing in Niseko Japan for myself and my 2 children. some minor mishaps, physio treatment and equipment totalling $3k. used the online claims process. yes a little slow in processing, but in the end, full payment less deductible, at a good exchange rate, within 25 days. so yes, I would use this company again. Show details

DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS COMPANY! THEY WILL NOT PAY YOU !!!!! – Never again will I take insurance out with them . Took them over 6 months and countless phone calls/ emails and complaints to get a rejected claim. Got stuck in Singapore on layover due to falling ill and I’m glad I chose to stay in a hotel rather than a hospital because they paid out zero dollars to me. Customer service even admitted on the… Read more

phone the extra papers i had to supply during the process sat on someone’s desk for 2 months not looked at. Maybe not tell a person this it looks very bad !!!!! Out of pocket thousands and not one cent from these people and good luck getting a response they will only respond if you call and even when they say they will call you back they don’t . I took this insurance out thinking I was covered . Waste of money go elsewhere . Your policies and processing claims is a joke you need to work on this to be more efficient and more considerate to what a person went through. I would have taken something and didn’t need everything approved but to get zero dollars is a joke . Tell them nothing when your situation is happening as they will act like they care but they use this against you when it’s time to make a claim .Be warned !!

Worst Travel Insurance ever if you have to make a claim – We made 2 claims whilst traveling to Europe for 5 weeks all related to an unexpected illness for my husband. World 2 Cover were the most unresponsive, unprofessional and useless company I have ever dealt with. I have never made a claim for travel insurance but the whole process was the lengthiest process ever. It has been 3 mths and still no… Read more

payment received. I received every excuse under the sun and whilst they denied 1 claim because my husband didnt go to the DR the 2nd claim is still yet to be paid. Never once did I receive a phone call from there team. Even made a complaint that was supposed to go to the complaints team but a claims person contacted me to do absolutely nothing. I travel overseas every year and will never use this company again. The price was good but you never know how good an insurance company is until you use them and these guys are the worst ever. Dont BUY!

An insurance company that does not care! – They paid out most of my claims. However it took me countless emails and phone calls to follow up with them because there was hardly any response from them for 2 months! Their agreed turnaround was 10 business days from date of submission, I followed up on the 15th day, to be met with a request for more information on the 16th day. Once submitted,… Read more

didn't hear from them. I followed up on the 20th day and they tell me the clock starts again after submission of more information! Unacceptable! Gave them the benefit of doubt, followed up on the 30th day, still no response. Subsequently I raised a complaint to them, that finally got me a call from the Claim reviewer who again asked for more information. Though he promised to finalised the claim within the week, I had to follow up again after 1 week to be told it's still under review. I followed up again 1 week later, gave them a piece of my mind about how unprofessional they are and they do not have a customer focus in mind. Finally received an approved letter few days after that unfriendly email. By then I was just thankful that they approved 90% of my claim that I am not bothered to argue with them about the remaining items.

For this claim, it has cost me more in time and energy than the dollar value itself! Maybe this is their tactic of wearing you down, approve the minimum and hope you won't fight for the rest.

My advice, stay away! read all other feedback below and my experience. This is not a good company. You've been warned!

Paid medical claim - which was our priority – We were recommended by a nurse friend who does insurance retrievals (ie, she gets on a plane and medically assists people who are injured and accompanies them home). We think medical is the most important reason for travel insurance! While we were away our 9 year old got a lurgy that lasted for several weeks. I was able to open a case while we… Read more

were away and get advice (some of which I didn't take as it didn't escalate). On return home I submitted receipts for several visits to doctors, taxis to get to doctors and everything they prescribed including antibiotics, prebiotics and hydralites. Paid without comment.... at the end of our trip we were a bit caught up in political unrest in Guatemala and decided we should leave a few days early, so I called for advice. They weren't super helpful, basically said "do what you think is right and make a claim and then we'll assess it", which does not help with decision making. As it was the airline changed our flight for free and we never put in a claim for the $200 odd we were out of pocket for prepaid AirBnB.

Absolutely terrible insurance company – They delay their assessment for as long as possible and then deny claims other insurance companies would never deny. They have an out clause for everything in their PDS so they can deny any claims that comes their way. Avoid them at all cost! Show details

something out my control (which it was as I am not the sky which makes the rain and floods) they only offered 70% refund they felt they deserved $40 when zero work and insurance had been used!

They were refunded this partial 70% last week and still following up now for the refund and a tax invoice! I have all evidence which I am happy to post as well to back up my service, responses and follow ups!

I should have got 100% refund due to this being cancelled out of control but this company seem to think that there bigger that Hilton and virgin to not give full refund but those big companies did.

Highly reccomend stay clear of this company, only Have their interests not the customers.

**Claim DENIED because I was using it at the time** WHAT?!? yep, read on -> – Read the PDS prior to taking any policy with W2C. They will try find a way to deny your claim. While on holidays I crashed my drone and it wasn't retrievable. I called W2C and they said I was covered, they told me to go and get a police report and submit a claim once I was home. I submitted and 2 weeks later they wanted proof of purchase for… Read more

ownership (DELAY). I found the receipt, submitted it and W2C wants another 2 weeks to assess (DELAY). I follow up and am told all the paperwork is in place and they contact me in 3 to 7 days (DELAY). 2.5 weeks goes by and today I contacted W2C again. W2C said they would have the assessor call me this afternoon before close of business. An hour later I get another email saying they want another 3 - 7 days to assess (DELAY). I called immediately and said I would wait and wanted the claim finalised today. An assessor comes on the line and says they are declining my claim because in

Section 3.9 of the PDS - excluded ... "Sporting equipment, including surfboards, snowboards, sailboards and boogie boards, and Valuables including drone and radio-controlled/remote-controlled model car, vehicle, plane, boat and the like whilst they are in use .... "

W2C defines "Valuables" means passport, travel documents, jewellery, watches, precious metals or semi-precious stones/precious stones and items made from them, furs, binoculars, telescopes, computer games, any kind of photographic, audio or video equipment, computers, mobile phones, smart phones, tablets, electronic games, portable navigation equipment and any equipment or accessories related to these items, drones and radio-controlled/remote-controlled vehicles including (but not limited to) model cars, planes, and boats and the like and any equipment or accessories related to these items."

So you can take these items with you BUT, whilst they are in use they're NOT INSURED. All these items are not insured whilst in use .... CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!??!!

I asked the assessor then why was I told that because I had top cover that I was covered, just get a police report for the claim. Then after chasing W2C after a DELAY they then want proof of ownership. Submitted. Then on pressing W2C for it to be finalised it's only then clause 3.9 is pulled out. Why didn't they say it up front. The assessors answer was "a training issue". I replied with it being an incredibly poor customer service experience. Apologies, apologies and see ya later!

By comparison, I had a claim with Allianz ($3000-4000) 6 or 7 years ago and the claim was submitted and paid with 3 days!!! Lesson learnt. I'm going overseas twice later this year and as you could guess my travel insurance is NOT with W2C.

Full refund of travel claim approved! – Our US family holiday was cancelled in less than 24 hours due to my emergency hospital stay. W2C has refunded 100% of our travel claim, minus the $100 excess fee. Slow service but paid the claim – I travelled to the UK in March 2022 with my partner and 2 children, World2Cover was one of the few offering COVID cover for a reasonable price which is why we chose it. prescriptions etc. I contacted World2Cover to check if we would be covered for the extra time. They responded quickly to assure me it was automatically extended if the reason for an extension was covered by the policy (which it was).

Upon return home, I filled out the claims which were separated into 2 parts for the AUD and GBP costs as I didn't see how to combine these in one claim in the online form. The AUD claim was paid within 2 weeks which was great. However, we then had problems with the GBP claim as it was cancelled as they incorrectly believed it was a duplicate. After it was reinstated I had to follow up several times until it was finally paid, 7 months after the claim was lodged. I was very glad to get the money back but would have appreciated a smoother service.

existing $510.21, yes that's one day to an existing 21 day policy. Apparently they use 'price points' and so the consumer gets raked for an extra 123.14 or basically 5 extra days of cover I neither want or can use. I shudder to think what will happen if I have to make a claim.
