I've lost my key can I start with normal key
i have a tmax 500 2007 and it idles at like 1800-2000 when its at operational temperature anyone knows why? thank you

hi. I have t max 2007 with charging problem. I replaced the coils and the regulator, and still , have low voltage charging. seems to have around 12.3v . what can be the problem ?
Hi there, I got a 2011 Tmax 500. After I ride it, I park it for an hour or so Sometimes it won't start. So I leave it for 3-4 hour and it'll start like nothing happened. What could be the reason?
Hello there. I have the same issue for some time now and it was intermittent initially and then got more frequent. Sent workshops and the mechanic replaced fuel pump and serviced throttle body, injectors etc. It was alright for few days but i had to fly overseas. So when came back and rode more; the problem persisted. I had no choice but to do try and error troubleshooting since there's no fault code or whatsoever and no mechanics i know had any ideas. After replacing injectors, TPS, spark plugs and battery in sequence, the problem still persists. Finally i noticed the spark plugs had no sparks when it couldn't start so replaced with a used ignition coil; same sypmtom and noticed something odd with the charging. Voltmeter keeps re-calibrating while riding and the charging seems not holding sometimes. Rectifier is about 1.5 years old so i ruled that out and decidednto replace the charging coil instead. Ordered and waiting to replace it.
I don't know if this will help but i suggest you check your charging coil 1st instead of doing what I've done to get to this. I can only update on this when I'm back from a job in August.

I had a similar problem, turned out to be the fuel filter on the bottom of the pump. Fuel flow was not good, OR Has any one screwed with the injectors? If adjustments are made buy the diy mechanic they some times do not work. Best get checked using the data link.
My T Max 2017 pick up slow during acceleration. Does anyone come across this problem?

OVER RANGE malossi tmax. acceleration is very quick. best setup is 16 gram weights with white spring. Uses a bit more petrol than usual but let me tell you the tmax sounds very aggressive with stock exhaust.
Slow acceleration on take off, what can I do to accelerate faster on take off, it used to be quicker on takeoff, only 4000 Miles ?
How old is the V belt? Could be slipping/stretching, otherwise no idea. Take it to a Yamaha workshop.
The bike is a 2009 with 4,000 miles .
Change the weight slights in your original variator with 16 gram malossi,
The best setup for a tmax 500 2008-2011 is original spring and 14 gram malossi slights in original variator ,
OVER RANGE malossi acceleration is very quick. best setup is 16 gram weights with white spring.
Hello I have one problem With my tmax 2016 Iron max i can not start it i change battery on the key also on the scooter but Still nothing. I checked the fuse as well. any help?

Is the red kill switch on or off? Does the instrument panel light up?

I have a brand new t max 2018 since I got it while I’m driving it loose electricity and it become peace of metal .... nothing not even on the screen no power. It happened 3 times so far tell now ..... any good reasons !!, please advise
This is a Yamaha problem, not yours. Probably something really simple and will be under warranty
TMAX 2008 - 60,000 km. The problem started off as a chugging idle sound on start up instead of the usual smooth sound accompanied by a lower rpm. After a couple of secs and small jumps in revs normal bike sound would resume and revs would stabilise at 1,100 rpm. The problem only occurred after I switched her on after being off for 8 hours or so. The problem is getting worse. Now, in the morning the bike won’t idle until I have tried for to switch it on at least three times and given it some juice. Then the same chugging sound is present until it sorts itself out again and can idle at around 1,100 rpm.
Please, any advice?
My T-MAX won't start, just put a new battery on and all it does is click, any help??????

Please Help! I have 2003 tmax500 .. It wont go like before..i try to ride but max speed i get its 20kmh..i checked the variator and put new malossi rollers..i even changed the frizione plates and put malossi plates but it still wont go like before...i hit the gas and the rear wheel starts slowly and doesnt go more than 2kmh..please help me now what is the problem with my scooter.

Hi I have just taken a 07 plate out on a test drive been standing for a year started with a jump sounds great runs great battery is as dead as possible when riding all electrics we’re going on and off only when riding no problem when sitting and engine running help please any ideas out there GAZ
This will happen if you've got dirty battery terminals. If it's been sitting there for a while I wouldn't be surprised. Clean them up and see how you go.
Buy new battery and you’ll be sweet.
Hi i have a tmax 2014 abs and i have problem with the rear brake and i press the levers is hard and the scooter don't stop any idea and i have loss the brake caliber and it keep hard.
Any one know what is my problem?

No idea, take it to a Yamaha workshop. Never heard of this happening

Bring sonax. Renove the breakpads. Spray somax on the caliper pistons if this did not work replace the entire caliper
