When it works, it does what it’s advertised to do. But!!!!! It failed after 4 weeks. It’s a short term perception of having a clean pool with minimal effort. These robotic cleaners are not long term solutions to pool maintenance.

Relatively happy with the purchase. Have a rectangle-shaped pool with seating up one end in each corner. It climbs the walls and makes its way onto… Read more

the seats. The only issue is fine dust & sand. The 150micron basket is very average for this price point and struggles to pick this up. Ideally, it should manage particles less than 100 microns with ease. Overall, I still need to use the pool broom to suck up the finer debris. Hy-Chlor offers upgraded fine filter pads (50 microns) at an additional cost. The catch is that they only work effectively when the machine is running in ground-only mode.

Overall happy with this as an entry level robot pool cleaner. I have a roughly 10,000L above ground vinyl pool. It sits below a palm tree so I would… Read more

often get nuts and berry's falling into the pool. This wasn't an issue in summer as I would get in and manually vacuum but as winter came along I had to choose between letting my pool slowly fill up with berries OR putting my big boy pants on and braving the Antarctic conditions (17 degrees Celsius :/). After a few attempts I chose a third option! While I know there are probably better options out there at a similar price, I ultimately went with the Hy-Chlor purely because I could buy it from Bunnings. If I did have any issues with it I knew I could just take it into Bunnings for a swap or credit as opposed to dealing with some online customer service rep or bob from my local pool shop. In the Hy-Chlor range the i1 is the base model from what I could see and was suitable for my needs.

It cleans the floor of the pool only and to be honest it does a pretty good job. Now I just leave it in all week and on the weekend I will pull it out to charge it and clean out the compartment that collects the debris. So far I recommend this device. It is simple, not alot too it really, which I actually like as it means less things that can go wrong with it. It just travels around, bumps into the wall, then heads back the other way. The wheels have a little bit of movement in them so that it doesn't travel on the same path all the time.

The only reason I am giving this 4 stars is because it would be great if the battery lasted longer. So far I am getting maybe 2-3 days of cleaning out of it, and on each day it cleans for maybe 2 hours. Being battery powered I can only imagine this will degrade over time but that is more a limitation of the technology than anything.

So far so good, as long as it keeps eating those berries!

This product works just fine but you need to understand what it is – I am writing this as there appear to be a lot of negative comments on this type of product. So, I can fill in a couple of blanks. Chlorine is almost… Read more

always used to disinfect the pool. There are a few ways of adding this chlorine. Using a dedicated chlorinator or just adding chemicals. The Hy-Clor product is Calcium Hypochlorite. In essence, chlorine bound in calcium hydroxide. It is cheap, it's major attraction. The other options for powder (or granular) products are much more expensive and based on another chemical product. When calcium hypochlorite is thrown into the pool, the chlorine is released (slowly) and calcium hydroxide remains. That can be seen as a cloud or haze in the pool which upsets plenty of owners. It settles on the bottom and just kind of rests there. Calcium hydroxide is not very soluble in water and so you need to help it along by keeping the pH low and brushing the bottom. The cloud will disappear.

Noisy pump – Purchased from Bunning and the price was good. It works well. The downside is the noise, it is very noisy compared to any of the pumps we have used… Read more

previously. As we have had to make major changes to the plumbing of the filtration system to fit this pump, it makes it a difficult decision to return the pump for a refund. Fir now we will put up with it!

couple days there was a greasy scum line around my pool the pool toys were covered in greasy scum .My pool pump seals started leaking My cartridge filter pressure went up at least 25% and as I could not remove the product i have to clean my filter every day soaking it in detergent . My pool level has gone down approx. 100mm. Hopefully the product will eventually disappear from my pool I returned the product to Bunnings and got a refund. I informed Hy Chlor and they said to return it.
