from Choice on the Sebo K3 Premium I decided to purchase one. I really needed a quality vacuum that cleaned deeply and got rid of dirt and pet hair.
Nowhere did I read that beware using the motor head on certain carpet! The motor head is so powerful with hard bristles and spins furiously.
First try using the cleaner I ran it over a section of my carpet and to my horror it fluffed up my loop pile carpet causing damage. It wasn’t until I read the small print in the paperwork that it said not to use on any form of loop pile carpet.
On my timber floors it’s not that much better than my Dyson.
It has great suction and runs really quietly. Build is quality but it’s cumbersome to drag around and the hose is always kinking and cutting the air flow. The power cord is so touchy and just starts retracing back into the cleaner and reefing out of the power point.
I am really thankful that I still have my Dyson cordless to use, so quick and easy! I use it religiously and might get out the Sebo every month or two for a deeper clean using the standard head!
Now after purchasing in September 2022 it is playing up and continuously with the power cutting off. Obviously some sort of connection issue? You have to jiggle the cord or hose to get it running. The suction is also inconsistent. Such a shame as it is a sturdy powerful and quiet machine.
I am so disappointed that I spent so much money on a corded vacuum where you even have to change the bags.

Bought the Sebo E3 Premium specifically to correct the fuzziness on my Samurai wool loop carpet. It was really fuzzy beforehand and looked terrible.… Read more
The carpet shop advised the loop carpet wasn't faulty rather my stickvac was a problem. After many Googling sessions 'vacuums to remove fuzz from wool loop' the results all listed Sebo.
What I liked initially about my purchasing experience was being able to talk to a person at Sebo who knew exactly what my fuzzy carpet needed and how easy it was to remove the pilling. I find these days there are many Google AI recommendations but having someone here in Australia to talk to was helpful. I wanted to use the vacuum on my timber floorboards as well as on the stairs which were also covered in the fuzzy loop. The Sebo staff recommended the E3 Premium barrel.
Since using the E3 Premium vac my carpet is no longer a fuzz pile. The white power head just gobbled up the fluff. I imagine this feeling of satisfaction is the same pet owners get when they see their pets hair vacuumed up! It really is so satisfying to see.
The ET-1 doesn't come with the green brush included. This is needed specifically for wool loop and was an add on purchase. I was worried about having to change things over as I don't have great strength in my hands but it was very easy to swap the brushes over. There are pictures and that is my now super clean wool in the background after several uses. No screwdriver needed, the end piece on the power head just twists off once you push a button to release it. It sits on the steps of the stairs. I don't have to wrestle with the hose. I used the smaller turbo head (PT-C) to remove the wool fuzz from each stair. This accessory was included in the box along with dusting brush, upholstery, crevice and parquet (timber head).
I didn't realise what a difference a vacuum cleaner could make. Like most of us I thought any vac would do, they all suck right? But since buying the E3 Premium the fluff is gone from the wool carpet which is what I so desperately wanted, my house is also less dusty. I don't notice as much fine dust on my timber floorboards. The dark timber stain normally shows up every white speck of dust. I put it down to the carpets are cleaner.
Bag easy to change and seal with a tab that's connected to the bag. I just threw it in the bin. With the stickvac I normally have to hold my breath to empty it and swat away any dust that blows up into the air.
If you are thinking of buying new carpet ask how to clean it. Ask the carpet shop and carpet manufacturer so you don't make the mistake I did. If you're unsure I found Sebo's people helpful to talk to.
Highly recommend the Sebo's E3 Premium.

Over priced, badly designed and built – This $1700 machine couldn't withstand light usage in a 2 bedroom home. The wand handle is made of a flimsy plastic construction which comes apart… Read more
when even a small amount of pressure is applied in a turning or twisting motion. This occurs with normal usage on carpets when manoeuvring around corners etc. After the first use it came apart at the seam and clearly broke free of its internal clips so wouldn't clip back together.
When I took it back to the store, I checked the floor room model which also had the same problem.
Apart from that, the hose doesn't rotate 360 degrees on the barrel, so you end up with it becoming twisted and prone to kinks.
This is poorly designed and poorly built. For a brand that is so highly regarded, and so highly priced, this is completely unacceptable. This vacuum is marketed as professional grade but theres no way it would last 6 months in a professional setting, let alone 6 days at home. The fact that Sebo offers a 10 year warranty around the rest of the world but only 3 here says a lot. They don't stand by their products, or perhaps we're being taken for fools and sold inferior quality builds. Either way it's unacceptable. Returned it for a full refund. That was the first and last time I buy Sebo.
The Australian vacuum cleaner market is in a sad state. It's currently impossible to purchase a truly quality vacuum in this country. There's a niche here for a brand that can produce quality vacuums with power heads, without succumbing to greedflation and cutting corners as a result.
The photo attached to this review shows the problem seam, although it doesn't fully capture the problem itself because pressure wasn't applied when the photo was taken.
Dear Sebo, I'm preemptively responding to you before you get a chance to slap a canned reply on this review. You're welcome. I'm not interested in talking to your customer service reps, only to be thanked for the feedback. If you have something useful and meaningful to say, then say it. Otherwise you might as well say nothing at all. Generic or canned responses to negative reviews do as much damage to your reputation as ignoring them.

video on YouTube is highly persuasive! I checked out various reviews as well, but did not get a clear mandate. Giving it the benefit of the doubt, and acknowledging the generally accepted superior reputation of German products, I bought a SEBO Dart 2, preferring it over the Australian Tennant. Wrong decision! The machine is OK for domestic cleaning, but certainly not for commercial work. There were several problems:
(a) its cord was far shorter than regular backpacks, necessitating an extension cord;
(b) it could not suck anything more than about half a centimetre cube - its opening was simply not big enough;
(c) It sucked in from the right hand end but not from the left;
(d) the suction power was poor (I kept the machine very clean, emptying the bag before every job and following all instructions);
(d) its much touted orange and green lights that were to indicate right height of the machine vis-a-vis the carpet/floor was unhelpful;
(e) Withing a month both orange and green lights remained on simultaneously anyway, so they were useless;
(f) the machine died just after 1 year was over, i.e., immediately after the guarantee period ran out.
I can go on, but you get the drift!
Bottom line - stay away from this machine. The humble back-pack is superior, and at half the price too!
