Great for taking paint off your walls. Other big brands work just as well and don't remove paint from your walk. I advise not to use them.

I have just bought a Zero Weeding Brush and used it today. Allwent well but I can see I will need replacement ‘brush’ or, potentially, the whole… Read more

screw in ‘head’ (should rubber seals or valve fail at some point). I am now very concerned to see so many stating their less than satisfactory experiences with obtaining replacement parts. The item was not inexpensive, given all it is, but seemed a good solution to avoid deep bending, given age and knee replacements! It would seem to me that Yates itself, as a seemingly reputable enterprise, should be the ordering point for replacement parts for their weeding brush. Please address this shortcoming and provide assurances of an efficient and reliable supplier.

I have been using Yates Weed and Feed granules for quite a few years and it has always been an outstanding product. Always blacken then the lawn… Read more

would come back very quickly into a green lush lawn while killing the weeds. BUT this year no idea what has happened! Didnt blacken anywhere near as much as previously and 2 weeks on my lawn is looking very ordinary with many, many brown spots! I followed the exact procedure that i have always done. But obviously as mentioned many times in the reviews the formula has been adjusted and unfortunately for the worse.I will be finding an alternative and Yates have certainly lost my future business and also the fact that i would always recommend this product to everyone. Very very poor quality it's wood chip and won't grow even a weed. In my opinion the worst mix in my 35yrs of gardening BEWARE don't buy this brand of potting mix.

Don’t waste your money on this garbage – This is so ineffective you’d have a better chance at killing weeds with spring water. I can’t believe how awfully [Content Removed] this product is. It may as well have made the weeds bigger. I bought a 2-pack so now I’m stuck with double the waste.

Excellent – I used this for citrus leaf miner and caterpillars destroying my plants. It’s working really well but repeat treatments are needed with all the wet weather. This stuff is well worth the money.

Brilliant – I bought Yates Path Weeder from Bunnings. One litre cost $34.93. Only 200mil per litre of water is all it takes making it reasonable value for money.… Read more

I use it for the weeds that never quit in between the pavers, amazing and annoying how a broadleaf can grow through a tiny crack…It kills weeds quickly. I also use it in the garden on the nutgrass ( not near plants). I have found it to be more efficient than others that I have tried.

Killed my orchids. Is not even suitable for orchids, as it is mostly soil and very little bark. Used some, sealed the bag and less than 3 days later,… Read more

went to put up more and the bag was full of mold and flying insects. Absolutely waste of money, particularly when you factor in the loss of very expensive orchids as well.

C'mon Yates, maybe a bit more thoughtful with the measuring device – I just used this product and I like it. However when I bought it, I was glad to see it had its own attached method of measuring out the product,… Read more

until I got it home and checked more closely. The instructions say to use the product at a rate of 6mls per litre of water so I expected to see the measuring scale to be 3mls, 6ml, 9mls, 12mls etc, for what would be required for ½litre and 1litre measurements since all the sprayers I've come across seem to be in 1Litre increments. So why have measurements of 7.5mls, 10mls, 15mls (Yay this one is good for 2½litres of water), 20mls and 25mls. Maybe I'm missing something or maybe close enough is good enough. We'll see.

the best lawn fertaliser i have found – It is natural and organic so you dont have to worry about nasty chemicals, it wont burn your grass if you over apply and it wont stain concrete… Read more

unlike chemical fertilisers. And best of all it works better and faster than other fertilisers. Also over time it improves the structure and moisture retention of the soil and encourages earthworms and beneficial soil micro-organisms. works exceptionally well, is completely natural, relatively cheap leaves a slight maneure smell for a couple days

Don’t bother with this product – My indoor plants have become infested with Fungus Gnats (small annoying flies that breed prolifically in potting mix). As a keen gardener I have… Read more

tried various techniques (sticky traps, minimal watering, re-potting, cinnamon powder etc. to no avail). So I tried Yates Fungus Gnat Barrier. As far as I can tell it appears to have done nothing. The sandy particles are easily displaced if you top water your plant or if you disturb the soil thereby allowing the adults access to the potting mix. Also the fungus gnats seem to inhabit the bottom of the pot as well. The product is quite expensive so I wouldn’t recommend it. Sadly I haven’t found a solution to this problem, yet!

The begonia will be thick with large strong foliage and then the flowers will make it the best begonia in the street – If you buy new and naturally small Begonias, put them in their own pots, about large mug-size, feed until they reach the size that you want, with … Read more

All Purpose Thrive dissolving Fertiliser. Let’s call it Treatment One ;

Using an 8 litre pump sprayer. Put two heaped spoonfuls of the fertiliser in the container and fill with water. Shake the container before each use and spray foliage every night until it has reached your preferred size. Maybe a month or two, so be patient. Water in the morning every third day, so as not to continually wash all of the fertiliser off the foliage.

It won’t flower during this period, but when you are ready, change to using Thrive Flower and Fruit the same way. The Begonia will start to flower in 2-3 weeks, and flower profusely in about 4-5 weeks. Keep it up with this fertiliser throughout the flowering season.

If it starts to become scraggly neatly cut the long stems just below the main leaf level, and carefully pull out dead stems. Never hack the whole plant back. Then continue with Treatment 1 followed by Treatment 2, and so it goes on.

If you are in a frost area it will help if you continue with Treatment 1 and mix 50mls of Clear White Oil with the 8 litres of fertiliser to protect the plant throughout the cold period. It is a good idea to use Treatment One through Winter even if you don’t have frost. It will strengthen the foliage for Spring. If you are in a mild climate you can alternate Treatment 1 and Treatment 2 for about 2 months at a time. The photos show the progression from Treatment 1 to Treatment 2.

Extremely Effective – My beautiful geraniums and pelargoniums were being eaten by Plume Moth caterpillars, tried manually killing them and numerous other products… Read more

including neem oil to no avail.

Applied this, and within a week I had no new damage and saw numerous mummified caterpillar carcasses on the leaves.

This stuff isn't an insecticide and requires the caterpillars to consume it, so you have to follow the directions and apply it thoroughly over the foliage, to the point of run-off.

I used a pressure sprayer with a wand so I could spray the undersides of the leaves where they were, you also need follow-up applications to take care of any unhatched eggs.

Three applications later and I'm finally moth-free, thanks Yates.

And the great thing about this is that it's natural and doesn't affect beneficial insects, only destructive ones that eat the foliage.

For Citrus Leaf Miner, it has to be the most useless product on the market – For the Yates Pest Oil Insect Control Spray Concentrate I was extremely diligent when mixing the correct ratio exactly as indicated on the cannister.… Read more

The mixture ratio for Citrus Leaf miner is given as follows:  5ml / 1ltr. of water. It does not work and never did. I upped the recommended dosage to 10ml / 1ltr. of water. Citrus Leaf Miners seemed to eat this stuff for breakfast, lunch and dinner as no matter how methodical I applied this under and above the leaves, they thrived. I am in WA where the Citrus Leaf Miner is a huge problem so one can find Yates Pest Oil Insect Control in premixed form at most of the big supermarket stores like Big W, Woolworths or Coles. If one wants the concentrate, one would have to shop at say a Bunnings or Mitre 10. I have tried both forms, without success. My next and last attempt to address the Citrus Leaf Miner problem on my citrus trees was to increase the frequency of application. Instead of eliminating Leaf Miners they multiplied. It was good money wasted time after time until the realization in that it was by far one of the most useless products I have ever encountered. Avoid at all costs.
