The guy answering the call said he knew what the problem was so I took it back to Harvey Norman. After a week, the HN technician told me that HP will need to charge me over $2000 to fix the laptop. I will never, ever buy HP again. My previous Dells lasted ages without any issues. Only updated to newer models when they became outdated.

is all over the Internet and there is a class action against HP on this. I had to pay SGD80 for the hinge repair. The hinge is plastic and breaks easily.

Another problem was the harddrive which failed after a year. Good thing I had 2-year warranty and HP technician came over to swap with a new harddrive.

I trusted HP but it is producing inferior products, so how can I be expected to buy HP again? HP is losing customers like me.

issues with the charging, even we bought the extended warranty at the time. We requested them to change a new Laptop, as now after charging 100% the maximum I can use is for 2 to 3 hours; the answer I get from them is that's the maximum performance of the hp laptops and can't help you more? I could not believe the reply, as I have been using other brand Laptops, but their performance is lot better than hp. Very disappointed and will never use hp products again.

and died plus other issues, I would put it in the lemon bin unfortunately.

I was very easy on this laptop, not my main machine. Total HDD time active was 936 hours powered total. Cosmetically apart from the cover near the hinges cracked the only other damage is a crack that runs from the edge of the lower case through the middle of the screw at the middle front of the case. So basically looks like new.

I also noticed the blue tooth connectivity became slowly less successful of time to the point of not connecting to a device next to it.

The battery didn't take a long time to become a redundant part and always having to find a power point became normal just after the warranty expired. The power supply became flakey towards the end as well, to the point of dropping out when running, only charging for a few hours, then minutes, just stopping any recharge or supply until unplugged from the laptop and reinserted for another few minutes of use.

The touchpad also started having some strange issues, slowly drifting off to a corner, never knowing which one its going to head for. Would have made an interesting wager.

Build quality is on the low side, after 14 months the screws holding the screen hinges let go when opening and split the top of the case.

So overall scored low, doesn't paint a nice picture for machines that followed....

between tablet mode and laptop mode has its merits.

Unfortunately it has non-stop faults. I never used such an unreliable machine, even in the 90's. I'm logging faults with my IT department several times a day. The laptop constantly freezes, the trackpad misinterprets gestures, the screen gets locked in the incorrect rotation (and many more). It's been fixed in IT several times and HP/warranties have been involved. The most recent time it was being repaired for almost two weeks. Some errors seemed to be fixed, but with each passing day new errors and faults multiply.

By the way - I work in a school and I'm hearing the same thing from other staff with the Elitebook, and many students who use the Probook. Our IT department (large expensive school) is overrun. I don't know why HP would put out this nonsense and turn a whole generation of users away from their products.

immoral company that sells defective products and still stands by them. I purchased this product, 'hp zbook firefly 14inch g11 a' model directly through hp.com, so I purchased a genuine product through proper methods and procedures. This product repeatedly brightens and darkens the screen every 3-5 seconds irregularly. It is as if sea water is constantly coming in and out, and it is so clear, very noticeable and vivid that it is very stressful for the eyes. There is no way they didn't know about this defective product during the final inspection. Nevertheless, I think they may have chosen someone who is Asian and old like me. I have a reasonable suspicion that they waited for someone like me to get caught in order to avoid the loss of discarding a defective product that should have been discarded. They are shameless. I have strongly complained, but there has been no response for more than 1 month now. Products from bad company HP deserve consumers' attention. * Product is purchased on 10/04/2025 from hp.com

Parts fail after short period of time. Cant believe how poor the replacement parts quality is. DISGUSTING! – I purchased a HP ENVY x360 - 15-bp108tx from Harvey Norman in 2018. it costed me just shy of $3000 as it was the top of the range notebook at the… Read more

time. Within the first 12 months the rubber strip at the bottom of the laptop started coming off and last year as I opened the screen as I always do I heard a crack, when I looked at the computer screen, the back cover of the screen had come away from the touch screen itself. I took it to a computer repair shop close to home because they were able to do it with only a day of down time compared to HP which is 5-7 days turn around. The computer repair shop told me that this was a manufacturing defect and it was quite a common fault with these HP notebooks . I spent $325.50 to have this repaired at the computer shop with a genuine HP part at a cost of $181.82. The part took 2 weeks to order direct from HP. I assumed the original replacement HP part was going to last at least another 3 and a half years or longer like the original did. Unfortunately this was not the case, after only 6 months the same thing has happened. I contacted HP and they told me that warranty on replacement parts is only 3 months and that because the part was not replaced by HP, the part would not be covered under warranty anyway. They also kept telling me over and over that the computer is no longer under warranty. The only solution that HP was able to offer was for HP to replace the part at a discounted rate. When I explained that this is not an acceptable outcome I was told that this would be escalated to a level 2 agent and that they would get back to me that day. When I did not receive a call from HP that day I contacted them the next day to see where we are with it. I was assured that the level 2 agent would get back to me that day. 5 days later I received a call from HP's customer relations manager named Sushma, after explaining the situation once again I was told the same thing by her. I then asked her if she believed that it was acceptable that a customer would have to spend $325.50 every 6 months, because of a defect that this HP has with this product and I was astonished when her answer was "YES". She then proceeded to tell me the same thing the level 1 agent did which was that the computer is now out of warranty. After I explained to her once again that this part was replaced only 6 months ago and I was seeking a warranty on the part not on the computer, she then told me that it is because of the type of computer it is where the screen rotates 360 degrees and that is the reason why this happens. The only outcome for which I was disgusted with was that I would have to once again pay for this to be repaired at a discounted price through HP itself, with a return down time of 5-7 days when this is a known defect with this laptop. I am angry and disappointed that a large company like HP could do this to customers after they put their faith in their product. I would like to get a response in regards to this matter from someone else who can understand what it is that I am asking for.

away. Purchased Laptop on the 10th May 2022 Gave to my wife as gift 14th May 2022. Upon opening the carton we removed the laptop and went to turn it on. The screen is red and there is a crack across the screen. We took it back to Officeworks Liverpool. The sales guy said we broke it. they said "You must of dropped it". They checked for marks to see if it was dropped and couldn't find any. Since it was a Saturday we had to repeat the whole process again on the following Monday. Now i have to wait and see what HP say to see if they replace/repair the laptop or not. I paid Officeworks my hard saved cash and they should have replaced it straight away. So if you are on the pension and buy a laptop from Officeworks, open it in the shop to make sure it works properly before you take it home. It may save you a massive headache later. I will post a follow up when i know something new.
