retailer to discuss the problem I was having - the pump was still working fine but had started cycling and the pipes would knock. I tried priming the pump but couldn't stop it cycling so decided it was time to get a new pump; this time a self priming one. My son-in-law removed the old pump easily and the new one slotted in easily with the old fixtures. I was very impressed with the price and the new pump is working perfectly.

Quiet, powerful, and user friendly. 4 star because putting a lot of the user interface behind an app isn't great.
Good pump – Grundfos pump is very easy to install and the price is very affordable I will definitely patronize them again Show details

We are on a 2.5 acre outer city block in WA, with 130,000lt above ground water tank. We had a typical pressure pump that worked fine, bit noisy,… Read more
inefficient and was limited to only one water operation at time as the pressure drop was very noticeable, which made showers a coordinated event. We looked into updating to a smart variable style pump, similar to our recently updated pool pump. Found the Grundfos SCALA2 on line and it seemed impressive, and I was familiar with the brand from my construction experience. It was a easy install, modifying the previous pump pvc piping. The recommended flexible hoses where unobtainable from the general hardware so I just made sure the supported pvc outlet and inlet were not binding in anyway. I have noticed 25mm flex pipes are now available from Grundfus.
Its been over a month now and it's been great. The pressure is great, pump is quiet and variable control works as it should. We were hoping to be able to have both showers with full pressure operating at the same time, but the hot water temp reduces, a bit too much to ignore. Initially we were disappointed, but realised its not the pump its our hot water pipework, being too small, 15mm diameter copper running over 30m between showers at opposite ends of the house.
We are happy with pump and I would recommend this pump!
A very solid little pump, extremely quiet which is great for us as it is installed under our house. We live off grid and it does not use an… Read more
inordinate amount of power but is certainly packs a bit of a punch. Bit of a odd shape which makes it difficult to both access the buttons and read the pressure gauge but that definitely isn't a deal breaker. Unbelievably well packaged. Hoping for many years of trouble free water unlike our last pump.

for my type of residence. The Grundfos SBA was very easy to install myself and provides good power for the household water. The best improvement noted is that the water pressure remains more constant than previous and it is not turning on and then off all the time like previous pump. Highly recommend.

15-20"years and more from their pumps. It's crap and a Waste of money. At he time of purchase i did question this item That its expensive but the supplier said its the best available. The retailer that I purchased it from was able to convince the wholesalers that it must be replaced for free. So we have a replacement. But it still does not give me confidence in this product . From past experience it's better to stay with well known reliable brands
Not a straight forward pump solution – Bought a Grundfos CM-PS CMB3-37 and a 200ltr pressure tank, about 7 months back and found the following; 1. the first 200 ltr tank that arrived was… Read more
broken on the plastic base. It was so weak, it could not be stood on its base, when slid out of the box. I rang my mate, who is a 4 year year Mech Eng. Who berated me for buying chinese gear, when he saw it. When the replacement one arrived, we very carefully slid it out of the box and did not let it touch the ground, then picked it up and slowly put it down, in the vertical position. Its a 2 man job, don't try this on your own. 2. The flexible hose that connects the base of the tank to the pump head is too short. You have no options on movement, when you get it connected. Needs to be a bare minimum of 200mm longer. If you use the inline filter, the pump has to sit 100mm or so higher, off the ground, so the hose is too short. 3. The Grundfos filter unit leaked like a sieve. I tried turning the o-ring upside down, stretching it a little, but no joy. I ended up putting 10 winds of teflon tape around it, and that fixed it. 4. The air bleed valve on the inlet side of the pump had a slow dripping leak from day one. Needed teflon tape to seal properly. It was hard to trace where it was coming from. I thought it might have been one of the pipe joints. 5. The pressure dial arrived with a crack running from top to bottom on the dial, but the box had no signs of impact or scratches. [See picture] I wondered if it had been a sale return to the Grundfos warehouse in NSW? Who knows. 6. I tried making the adjustments, as per the instructions, for the cut in and cut out pressures, but there was no perceptable change in output pressure. because the pressure is average, the washing machine needs to have water added by hand with a bucket, otherwise it dosen't get enough water, in time, when it starts its cycle.
So in Summary, i think you need to spend more. This one struggles, on a 3 bedroom house. In hindsight, I would have sized it larger, if i would have known the outcome from a practical level. I would have liked to be describing a better experience, but for me that was not the case.

our 100m bore. The pump was designed to pump up to a tank on a hill, producing a total head of 160 m. While the water quality is fairly soft and suitable for stock and garden use, the pump has again failed.
Upon inspection, it was found that a weld had failed on one of the 3 straps, designed to hold the 33 stages together. A weld that attaches the drive hub to one of the 33 impellers also failed. The combined failures of these welds, has contributed to a failure of the drive shaft, between the motor and the pump. The pump has to be replaced.
Grundfos failed to satisfactorily respond to the problem, simply offering a heap of unrelated excuses. It appears that Grundfos have quality and durability issues with their products. Several farmer's in our area have reported experiencing similar problems with Grundfos bore pumps.
I would say that while they charge a premium price for a product, which they claim is very durable, this is not the case. A far cheaper pump costing a third of the price, that only lasts half the time, might be a better option.
