We purchased the Electrolux stick vacuum cleaner almost 5 years ago (against my better judgement as I have little faith in battery-appliances - but… Read more

"SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED" INSISTED THAT THIS WAS WHAT SHE WANTED). Despite my prejudices (I use it half the time) I will admit that, in this case, I was wrong. We have found it to be an excellent machine - easy to use and an efficient cleaner with a good assortment of attachments. We have found that the dust container requires frequent emptying (I thing that most cordless stick vacuums have the same problem). The biggest disappointment with this product is the battery itself. The battery is displaying signs of extreme rigor mortis and, despite the fact that this model is still on the market as a current model, we have been unable to procure a replacement battery (either genuine or generic). As I have previously stated, we really like this machine, so we have actually purchased another identical machine. I can definitely recommend the "Animal" stick vacuum to anybody who needs a light, easy-to-manage vacuum cleaner for domestic use

50 ; 50 – The vacuum works well but the base station is very awkward to insert and remove machine .The lock sleeve is flimsy and breaks very easily . Every… Read more

time it breaks you need a new unit . ELECTROLUX did not design the upper base station good enough. This machine is the third one mum has had and its always the upper charging lock bracket which breaks and its $100 every time .Not fair . I have given Electrolux customer service enough time to settle my issue with this machine and they have been giving me the run around . DO NOT BUY THIS CHEAP CHINESE MADE PRODUCT AS YOU WILL BE SPENDING HEAPS OF MONEY REPLACING THE GHARGING STATION . THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE IS NOT INTERESTED IN HELPING MY ELDERLY MOTHER .

Surprisingly good – I have had this vacuum for a couple of months. It is used exclusively on hard floors (tiles), so I can't really comment how it would go on carpet. I… Read more

am quite happy with it's performance. It has an "Auto" setting for the suction level which provides for a reasonable run time and is effective for cleaning my floors.

On "Turbo" the suction is surprisingly strong for a stick vacuum, although on this setting run time is pretty short - perhaps 5 or 6 minutes only.

The machine is pretty quiet, it's fairly easy to use and seems well constructed.

On the minus side the vacuum (and it's wall mounted dock) are a bit bulky, and the dock is slightly awkward to position the vacuum on.

I took one star off for the fact that the self cleaning brush roll function really doesn't work. You still need to manually remove the brush roll and pull / cut away any tangled hair. At least the brush roll is easy to remove, with no tools needed (although the metal retaining spring that sits over it is hard to open and even harder to snap closed).

Overall I am quite happy with this vacuum - particularly at the price paid of $284.

Recommended.

Don't buy it! – From the first day it has little suction, doesn't even pick up hairs, doesn't pick up anything from carpet.Tiny holder needs emptying every 5 minutes. Wash filters, makes no difference. Waste of money. Show details

hour trying to get the web site to work, and then giving up and phoning. That required two calls as the first call gave me the wrong ordering site. It seems that Electrolux can not recognise any model numbers or part numbers. You have to call a human and then they can tell you what the part number is. Very annoying.

Should have waited for a Dyson! – Bought this vacuum for $799 as my desired Dyson was out of stock but was assured of its quality. Barely lasted 18 months before it refused to… Read more

recharge the batteries. Would have been under warranty but I was unable to find the receipt and the store from which I bought it has gone under (Godfreys). Tried to use a bank statement but electrolux stated that I had to have the receipt for a warranty repair. Quoted repair cost was $390, boxing day sale V8 Dyson $374. Easy decision! I should also note that the back and forth between the recommended repairer (Household Appliance Parts Wangara) Electrolux and myself took a frustrating 3 months.

carry parts so I contacted the company they use for repairs in Wangara. I was told that they do have a replacement battery on the shelf but it would cost $239.00. The most pathetic part is the battery warranty is only 3months from date of purchase. Safe to say we wont be replacing the battery or buying Electrolux.
