I ran out of cotton on black thread got threaded nearly to the end and not sure where to go from here. I followed the diagram on machine.
I'm just using mine for the first time and the hand wheel won't move. So frustrating! Any suggestions?
the number 1 thread keeps breaking. I cant get it to stay in position 9 without popping out and I cant see where to find position 10 - very frustrating as I cannot use this machine - please any suggestions would be appreciated
Rita, I don't have or use an overlocker. Please contact Janome they are Very helpful
Hi Rita, I’ve used the Stirling overlocker for the last 14yrs. They are a real workhorse. I would say that you have your tension dial too tight. Loosen all four dials to a 3 or 4 and run a piece of fabric under. Use the manual which will show you which threads correspond to which dial to tighten. In all honesty I’ve never gone past a 6 because it depends on the fabric. I hope this helps. The Stirling is based exactly on the Janome which I previously used for 10yrs.
The overlocker is very very noisey, is this the norm?
Can the cutting blade be replaced
Yes, but you need to contact Medion directly to order a replacement. I could not find them anywhere else. I replaced mine, from memory around $35.
How do I engage the cutting blade
How do I change the needles
I am wondering what the two dials on the right hand side are for please
To remove the left needle for which side do I turn the nail?
You might need to loosen both screws if it doesn't come out just loosening one.
Can I do a rolled hem on this overlooked?
Who makes Aldi Black limited overlocker
What brand of overlocker needles to I need to buy ?
I bought a new Stirling overlocker. I cannot turn the hand well and the motor sounds like it’s straining but the machine does not run. I have never used it… any ideas? There’s no packing screw that needs to come out is there? Feels like the mechanism is stuck
Did you ever work out why the wheel wouldn’t turn, I have the same issue, new never used. Thanks Tracey
I bought this overlocker, and it works fine. How can I change the seam width? Many thanks.
I love this overlocker and would like to a few extra feet (blind hem, elastic and a few others) I bought a set from amazon that fit singer, brother elna but not this Aldi stirling. Can someone please tell me who makes then...... AKA brand so I know what feet to look for. Thanks
Janome
What's the model number please
We bought a machine about 6 months ago from Aldi store in Endeavour Hills. We have lost our invoice but have the guarantee card. The foot locker is not working now. Please advise how we can obtain a replacement.
How can I use it
I am having trouble using my overlocker as the thread keeps breaking. I have googled for help and tried their suggestions but I am still having no success. Any suggestions? I have changed the thread, needles and threaded certain reels in suggested order!
Mine has been doing the same. It may be a built in fault. Like carpenters leave a fault that you have to pay another carpenter to repair. The blouse is cut out & I can't finish it for a sick person. I feel frustrated as there is nothing on the web that fixes this problem. Don't buy Aldi products in the future.
Thanks for your reply. I didn’t give up, I googled how to thread an overlocker or serger as they call them. Anyway, I retreaded, oiled and changed the needles and so far so good! Fingers crossed. It worked yesterday, hopefully it will again.
Hi I had the same problem I suggest you have a look at the little picture in the inside of the part where you can open to remove the fabric behind that is another compartment that stores the fabric that is cut off whatever jeans or pants you are overlocking. I pulled my strings a little bit more so it is hanging so the thread doesn’t keep breaking so easily. If you think the speed is too fast turn down the dial by one number. I keep practicing trying to keep my foot and the overlocking at a steady pace I find it helps when I get too confident and overlock too fast I find I mess up whatever I’m doing, keep practicing on cut offs for fabric it took me a while to get used to it. Good luck
I have a Stirling over locker and I have threaded and retreaded it many times but the thread keeps breaking. I even googled how to solve the problem but it hasn’t helped. Any suggestions?
Mind does the same its a fault and we have been ripped off
We will never buy Aldi products in the future.
