Is broken sewer lines covered under house insurance
I've just been checking my statements and wondering why my account keeps going DR. I'm being charged $28 more for house insurance and I was never notified anything about it for months. How is this "legal". Just change it when you feel like within contracts ? That kind of attitude means I need to leave Allianz.

Its New Years Day. And Public Holiday tomorrow The house has carpet and cork flooring on slab. The cold water has leaked onto the floor. The carpet and cork can be saved if we act fast to dry it out. I have lodged a claim on line and backed it up with messenger. So far I haven’t spoken to a human because calling is explained to be inundated by flood calling and I cant get on a que. How can we expedite an assessor to visit to allow the insurer's preferred cleaning/drying company to start work? Cheers happy new year
Hearing a lot of negative comments for Allianz home building insurance here, hope Allianz takes these seriously and make improvement straight away.

I am a customer of Allianz home building insurance, very sad to read the negative review comments here, especially the long waiting time to call Allianz, the long processing time and the denials of the claims.
People should do a lot more homework on buying and renewal the home building insurance with Allianz.

We have been with Allianz for years. Last year, following major renovations to our property, we recalculated the value to ensure that we had an appropriate level of insurance. We were pleasantly surprised. It wasn't much dearer than previously. I also went to all the comparison sites, but Allianz wasn't on any of them. When I checked with Allianz, they were cheaper than the lowest comparisons on those sites. Fortunately, we haven't had to make any claims on household/contents insurance, but have on comprehensive motor vehicle insurance. They have always been helpful, polite and professional. We have been very happy with our dealings with them.
Has anyone suffered severely from the insurer’s response to the 2022 QLD/NSW floods?
I have no idea how you responded in NSW if it has been the same as my ongoing problem with you in Victoria I would have to guess yes

Yep QLD floods - initially offered cash settlement. I signed and sent forms back - 1 week later they call to advise they decided to deny claim due to gradual / ongoing damage…
With recent storms in Sydney, there was leaking from the ceiling in the media room. Due to continuing rain and storm over the last few months, it seems there is a roof brick mortar that is deteriorated and damaged and it took them more than 3 months to deny my claim. It is denied because they think my 15-year-old house gradually deteriorated ago. I guess they could use that reason for any damages caused by weather. What is the point of this Allianz insurance?

Hi. We have an existing Home and Contents insurance policy with Bank of Melbourne (insurer: Allianz) and need to explore our excess options as well as to make minor adjustments to the property details. We have called 13 22 66 spending up to 20 minutes on the phone on two occasions, and both times there was no answer. A week ago we also sent an email to customerservice@allianz.com.au and haven't heard back. I believe we made a reasonable effort to get in touch with the provider/insurer. Can we please ask that Allianz or Bank of Melbourne representative contact us on 0404 002 356 with regards to this? Our policy is expiring on 4 March 2022, so a prompt response will be greatly appreciated. (Sending a copy to Bank of Melbourne).
Does Allianz home insurance cover the subsidence, land settling or collapse?

wow no idea been with them 3 yrs never made a claim but all insurance companies have fault none perfect
Yes I probably would have thought that as well and have been with them 30 years. Was broken into 6 weeks ago and every single time I have called I’ve been on hold at least two hours . They are yet to reply to my claim via email and phone. Feel so ripped off and want to change companies but our claim is still outstanding. Change your cover because you probably aren’t !!

Don't know, but something is sure. We've moved away from due to their restrictive approach with home insurances. AAMI was more adaptable.

How can the majority of reviews show the same outcome we experienced and then one absolutely over the top too good to be true fantastic, should I suggest fabricated review pops up in between. Who checks the validity of these reviews? What checks are made to ensure they are genuine and not the company fabricating great reviews.

I'm not sure if this question is in relation to my very good feedback on Alliance (which shows as the most recent 5 star review at the top of the page), but if so I can tell you it's real. I sent a copy of the payout details etc to Product Review to verify my review of them. The claims officer went through our policy very carefully and ensured they paid us on every possible clause they could. We DID have a TOTAL LOSS fire though. Sure we had to get a couple of quotes: one from a builder to rebuild the house, one from a plumber for a rainwater tank (part of their $5,000 eco contribution that was paid in addition), and one quote for the cost of debris removal. The only thing that took time, was us finding people to get quotes from. Everything from the Alliance side was actioned quickly and efficiently. Would I insure with them again? ABSOLUTELY.
Also... prior to moving we had a small accident with the car, which is also insured with Alliance. Paid the excess and got the car fixed super easy with no hassle whatsoever. I've never had to claim on insurance before, yet within a 3 month period I had to make 3 claims! ALL have been great (the other one with Youi, whom I'm also about to give a good review to). Sorry you didn't have a good experience, but we really honestly did.
Thanks for your feedback but we have found this company to be nothing but probems. You may have been the one and only very lucky winner for the year. This was not a big claim and they have been obstructive and argumentative.
Its good to hear that our premiums actually pay claims, not just CEO bonuses, all be it very rarely.
I'm sorry for loss and glad you did not have the same experience with this company as so many other victims. They are a terrible company if they pay out only one case in hundreds.

Have a look at Allianz Travel Insurance reviews. There are so many 4 & 5 star reviews just for being able to buy the insurance easily on the internet but haven't made a claim. I guarantee if they need to make a claim they won't give Allianz anything like 4 or 5 stars - I speak from experience

Sorry, I don't know, best you check their Policy terms & conditions on line. Pretty ordinary when claims are sought , need to keep this in mind.
