I have an Avan 499 and have no water flow pressure for the outside water tap ,, the water inlet has a knob behind the inlet for the outside water,what does this do?? how to get access to the inlet water pressure valve to check and clean it,, to check the water tank ,where to get access ??
Stephen, if running off your tanks ensure the 12v pump is on, if running off mains and still doesn't have pressure try removing the tap handle and replacing the seal. Also consider removing your pressure relief valve and cleaning it these become clogged and don't work well, I carry a spare one

We have had our van 2017. We have a water leak that we first thought was the front window but now think it is coming from the hatch . The water is not clear but slightly brown . Any ideas how to fix this ?

Hi, we wanted to get a second water tank, but have been told that we can't because of weight issues on the axle. Can anyone tell me if this is correct.
It should be OK but remember Avan are not generous with payload allowance so you would have to watch your ATM. You know, you would get more answers to this question and many more if asked on the Facebook Avan User group
Assuming that you have one 95 L tank (95kg) and want to add another 95 L this would make up 190 kg of your 300kg allowance for a single axle. This leaves you with 110kg for the rest of everything else you want to pack in your caravan. We found this impossible to do. After my experience of my Avan I would suggest that you are already past your ATM. To stay legal I would pay some money and have it professionally weighed or you could find yourself uninsured. There is a chance that you could end up with a unworkable caravan. Good luck.
Hi everyone, have just ordered a hardtop 499 aspire double. Not sure whether to get underslung axle for more clearance height or if people are happy with the overslung axle height? Pros for underslung is more clearance. Cons, higher centre of gravity. Tow vehicle is 100 series cruiser (no lift)

hello everyone i have a aspire 499 2016 which we love but shortly after getting it the pump in the toilet keeps on going and have to pull fuse out to stop it which stops some of our lights working in van only a couple but annoying thankyou any help would be great
We have a 499. There is a mains socket in the wardrobe with a plug in it but switched off. The lead from the plug goes down a channel in the wardrobe. Does anyone know what this is for? Thanks.
Is it for the hot water? Is it for the fridge? Microwave ?Don’t know the layout of 499. We have the 555.
On my 499 theere is two leads from the power point in the wardrobe, the black one goes to the microwave and the white one goes to the aircon but there is another black lead that runs down the corner then disapears at floor level,this is for the small screen on the outside of the wardrobe that tells water levels and battery levels as well as controling the water pump

Can we tow an Avan Aspire 499, prop pop top version if possible with a Suburu Forester (not diesel)? Has anyone had that experience and/or comments? Thankyou
Your vehicles towing capacity. Needs to be 1550 kg.
Suburu have tow capacity of braked 1500 across the range of foresters according to their site and they do say that max towing speed is 80kph. As the tare of the van is 1250kg you would be on the limits very quickly.
Can it do it, and how comfortably will it do it; 2 sides of same coin.Tow mine with a 2.5 TD Auto king cab Navara. No problem except we don't exactly speed up the grind into Toowoomba!
Hi folks, we purchased new an Avan 499 HT IN 2015. Has only done about 10,000 klms & the skylight hatch at the front has cracked the plastic frame towards the backside. Has anyone replaced one of these before. I rang the local dealer & he said that it is an easy fix just buy a new skylight $360.00 & put it in. Does anyone know who makes the skylight as I would like to ask them if I could buy the plastic frame. I cant just buy the frame I have to buy the whole skylight. Thanks very much Steve.
I had a small crack in mine too. I just removed the silicone from the top and also the 2 sides and resealed. Make sure you reseal the top with the crack at the same time so nothing leaks.
Had a similar crack problem with the frame, and fixed it with Fixtech 15 marine sealant. No more leaking.

Can’t help I am afraid. I have the 555 . I have glanced at the L shaped dining and thought about it . But that’s as far as I got , as I have no real need.
It can be, but I would suggest only suitable for Children as it is not a full size double and a little short.
We were told in could be done. There is a short table leg and a cushion insert.(so far we haven’t purchased) We have a aspire 555 L shape lounge. My adult sister and grand children have slept on the lounge by just removing the back rests. We have a table adjusting arm on all the time which brings the table out a bit from the seats as we found the table too close to the seats for comfort.
Thank you everyone I just entering the nomad life & I will be travelling on my own; excited & terrified mixed together; so won’t be the last you will hear from me. Needed to think about spare bed incase any of my friends or family decide to visit me.
