I am gluten intolerant. They say the label says gluten free, but not on the bottle I just bought? Mike Lewis-Hart.

Info on the container of Benefiber: "Wheat dextrin is a by-product of extracting gluten from wheat. Benefiber ingredients: 100% wheat dextrin." My logic says that this product is gluten free since it is the end product of the removal of gluten, being wheat dextrin. But my inner skeptic says if it is really gluten free why hasn't the manufacturer declared that on the label?

If I were you I would check with my GP or specialist for their approval before adding it to my daily regimen. Good luck.

Please ask your doctor such medical questions as ordinary users should never give medical advice. I CAN say Benefibre is an excellent source of fibre. So easy to use, and no problems.

Benefibre is the possibility of interaction if taken with other medications ?

msleslie

Benefibre is chemically inert wheat dextrin and will not interact with medications. However, I personally avoid taking my tablets with benefibre in case the fibre somehow surrounds and impedes their full absorption as they pass through the digestive process.

Is benefibre gluten free?

msleslie

Benefiber's only ingredient is "wheat dextrin", which is derived from the starch of the wheat and contains less than 20 parts per million of gluten, hence meets most national standards as being gluten-free. The manufacturers claim that it is gluten-free on the label. I'd still just double-check with my GP before using it, if I were you.
