Hi. Is there a way I can programme the serie 8 dryer for a cold setting?
Hi Janice W, thank you for taking the time to reach out. On your appliance, there is a timed cold setting option. You can find more information on this in your manual, otherwise please feel free to contact us directly on 1300 369 744 so we can further assist you. Regards, Bosch Home Australia.
The water symbol is displayed after 20 minutes and the dryer stops working. The water container and filters are clean. What is the problem please
Sounds faulty. Check with Bosch.
I have a serie 8 heat pump dryer, WTW87565AU, door latch receiver and door both busted. Have replaced door and receiving latch. Closes perfectly, stays shut, as before was busted, but now getting 2 beeps when I try and start it. Child lock off. Internal light comes on when open the door, but does not go off when shut door. I presume not sensing that door shut, any suggestions?
How do I reverse the dryer door on a Bosch Serie 8 tumble drier model WTW87564AU?
You can't it is as you buy it
I have the Bosch Serie 8 (9kg) dryer WTX88MH0AU/01 model. I realised the base unit collected a pool of water when I pulled out the horizontal fluff collector. I have the impression that there should not have any water in that area as all the water is collected in the condensation container. Is it something I had not done that caused this collection of water in the base unit? I had soaked all the water up and cleaned it but after the next use there was still water collected. Is this normal? Please advise. Thank you!
Hi, I have a discontinued Bosch Home Professional washing machine model WAY32891AU/21, and Series 8 WTW87564AU/09 dryer, and I am having trouble finding which stacking kit to purchase, as we are moving and will now need to stack the 2 appliances, any idea, which stacking kit I should purchase. Thanks
Brand new Bosch series 8 dryer. Have only used it 3/4 times. We connected the drain hose correctly, no kinks and is not blocked but water is still filling in the drawer and not coming out of the hose.
Exactly the same problem ....did you solve it
HI how can I stop washing from balling up in the dryer? THe drum only tumbles in 1direction so I constantly have to shake out items, especially sheets. Is there any way I can program the dryher to tumble both ways? thanks, Janet
Hi Janet, I only dry towels in this dryer and they’re not a problem. I have a Bosch condenser dryer, without the heat pump, at home that I dry clothes and sheets in and I have the same problem of the sheets balling up and in my case I put it down to the fitted sheet acting like a catchers mit and filling with the other sheet and pillow cases. I haven’t tried all the settings and it does appear to only turn in one direction, so unfortunately I don’t have an answer to your question. Cheers, Kent
Hi Janet - I find it helpful to avoid putting the sheets in on their own. If you add other items to the load, it tends to stop the sheets from bunching up. Good luck!
Hi Janet - I've just emptied my Series 8 dryer and even having two sheets and four pillowcases doesn't stop the cocoon bundle from forming. Tumbling in one direction is a design fault as is the water in the bottom filter but Bosch doesn't care. Can't wait to get rid of this expensive rubbish.
Hi, Can you stack the Bosch Serie 8 WTX88M20AU on Bosch Serie 6 WGA244U0AU. If this is possible, which stacking kit is required?
My new WTW87564au is extremely hot to touch on the sides and top, when operating. You could literally fry an egg on it and a child or older person could burn their skin. As a result it is heating my laundry quite shockingly. Apart from this, it functions as expected. I have previously used the Bosch WTX88mm(?) heat pump dryer which was always cool to touch, even if running for hours. So I feel this is faulty and have asked for a technician visit to check. Does anyone else have this issue with their dryers? Appreciate any responses.
Ours gets warm too, but not to that extreme.
Hi, Thankyou for your question. We're glad to hear that one of our technicians is assisting you with this! In the meantime, if there is anything we can do to assist you further please feel free to call us on 1300 369 744. Regards, Bosch Home Australia.
I have owned this dryer for about 3 months and today while preparing the appliance to run the quick care program (CP1) after CrE appears, I noticed there is a lot of water sitting in the base unit underneath the condenser. I have not noticed this in the past. I understand that water collects in the top condensation container, however it is now collecting water in the base unit. Does anyone else experience this, or should I contact Bosch directly? The dryer still works.
Have you followed the instructions to connect the pipe work to have it drain automatically?
Yes, it's connected directly to a drain underneath the laundry sink and the small plug in the base of the condensation container is stored in the space allocated for it on top of the condensation container.

I'm looking to purchase a Bosch front loading washing machine and also a heat pump dryer and want to know which models are stackable together. Both need to have an energy rating of at least 4 stars. I have limited space and am looking for width and depth under 600mm. Thank you, Anne
Also I would like a stacking kit with drawer so need the suitable models please
Don't recommend this dryer, having issues that are very difficult to diagnose & fix myself after only 2 year warranty. (Have to order a repair flap from ebay shipped from China because dryer doesn't come with it & no one has it in Australia. This is just to get into it to take a look, let alone try and fix it).
Our Bosch Self cleaning heat pump condenser dryer has been working fine for 3yrs (series 8 WTW87565AU). It has started not drying properly in the last few months, taking all day to dry (as posted many times by others in this forum), stopping even when a very small load.
The moisture sensor is not malfunctioning. We clean the lint filter and sump after each load (I.e have maintained it well)
It looks like a known issue with this model.
Has anyone got a fix? It is so frustrating - it was far more expensive to buy than other dryers but we could not vent a new dryer outside and didn’t want condensation and lint inside!
An item like this should not need to be replaced after a short time. I feel particularly disappointed as Bosch are generally seen as a reputable, reliable brand, but this issue is clearly one with the machine…
Any assistance really appreciated!!!
It sounds like something has failed, however when we bought one, it never dried from day 1 (see my review) so our issue was different to yours. I’m not sure why you thought it was fine for 3 years and now it doesn’t dry. Perhaps yours was a different version as they made many different versions of the series 8 and ours was a bad version and yours wasn’t.
I’d suggest you Google Consumer Guarantee and Consumer Law. It states if a product has a major failure, you are entitled to a refund, repair or replacement. I’d say your issue is a major failure so you probably have a case to move forward. Bosch and the retailer will pretend they don’t know anything about these laws but I can assure you they do know of their existence. You will need to push them.
Good luck
Have the same one. There is a video on YouTube that shows how to strip it down and clean out the condenser - takes a good few hours and is quite tedious. I think it is a defective design - the self clean doesn't work and you will find that all the plates at the condenser are lined with lint so the air doesn't get cooled and the water from the clothes doesn't precipitate. Very disappointing product. I normally strip it down yearly and rebuild to keep it working.

We have exactly the same issue. It is so frustrating. Taking all day to dry half a load. Along with being diligent to clean out all the filters etc. so there is no easy clean out? What a poorly design dryer. Very disappointed with Bosch for this. We will probably purchase something else and it won’t be Bosch.

When I put the dryer on, it usually stops before the clothes are fully dry. The only time it seems to dry the load fully is when there is a load of towels in there. For other loads I’m continually having to go back and put another 20 minutes, then another 20 minutes. Is there something I can be doing differently to stop this happening?
No I have the same problem. It’s a dud I’m afraid.

Our Bosch Serie8 WTW87560GB has after 5yrs. When pressing the central selector on button, nothing happens - you have to keep your finger on the center of this dial and all the red lights around the outside come on, but nothing on the main rectangular screen. As soon as you take your finger off the central dial, all the lights go out. I’ve taken all the panels off and removed lint galore and the heat exchanger and condenser elements are ok too. Any thoughts?

I have an error message CrE. I cannot find what this is
This is your machine telling you it wants you to run a cleaning care cycle. Read the manual. There is a bit of a trick to get the care cycle to engage. Turn on the start button, put one finger on the drying target button and hold it there while turning the dial clockwise down to position 4( on my dryer this is Delicates). As soon as it reaches 4 lift your finger off the drying target button and then, if you have done it properly, Cr1 will flash on the Led screen and alternate with the time of the cycle. Once this has been done correctly, pull out the water condenser tray , tip all the water out and put in a litre and a half of quite warm water and put back in. Make sure the fluff filters are very clean and then start the cycle. When it is done, tip out all the water, clean the little filter in the water tank if it needs. I think that is it. Check your manual for the exact instructions for your machine. This is the basic cleaning cycle and there is a more intensive one which the machine may request although I have not encountered this yet. If you need clearer guidance ring Bosch, they talked me through how to engage the cycle. I was holding the drying target button down too long, when I first tried to do this.
when i put a load in the drier the display will say that the cycle will go for approx 1h 33mins. it starts to count down normally for about 2 minutes , then it will display 1 min and then it stops. I am new to this drier, am I doing something wrong or is there a problem.
The dryer shows the maximum time for a cycle then stops whenever that dryness level is reached. It is important to set the maximum dryness levels for each cycle before using and then it will keep that memory. The book advises that some cycles never fully dry, eg easy care and shirts so that these can be hung up to dry crease free. Use the maximum spinning cycle on yr washer to reduce the amount of water to be removed from clothes. Read the book thoroughly to make sure it is set up correctly. Hope this helps.
I've tried to plumb the unit internally (using the top water drawer) and also externally (into the laundry tub) and still having the same issue of water build up in the lower 'condensate' tray.
I called Bosch last week who said that this is 'normal' as this model is a self cleaning condenser, and that the unit uses this water during the 'self-cleaning process'..... I find this a tad odd and can't find any mention of this in the user manual.
I would like this either confirmed or myth-busted by Bosch including where this is mentioned as being 'normal' mode of operation in the user manual.
Paying decent coin ($1800) for a dryer of this quality and there are still so many question marks in the community over this issue is very frustrating.
p.s. where can you buy a replacement black stopper plug that is plugged into the bottom of the water drawer (when not plumbing out)?
Sadly it seems true that it maintains a puddle of water in the lower tray. I think this is a recipe for mould and smells myself. I wish I hadn't bought one of these dryers and it will be the last Bosch I buy.
yeah it is true and no word from mister Bosch as of yet.... any idea where I can buy a replacement black stopper plug (the one that is plugged into the bottom of the 'top' water drawer)? can't seem to find it on the Bosch website.
Hi from France! Came across this site searching for complaints about this model turning out musty smelling clothes (SMH) despite going through the « deep clean cycle ». My previous Bosch condenser dryer lasted for nearly 15 years and never once did I have this issue which seems to stem from the « auto clean » function keeping moisture on the system. Honestly such a waste, I wish I had stayed with the traditional filters (which in retrospect aren’t much of a pain to clean after every load).
Mine somehow came without the little black plug and I found one online here. Tried searching for Australia to no avail but here’s a UK link: external link (The one I got was just as stupidly expensive.)
The water in the base of the unit comes straight from the heat exchanger and is then pumped up to the condenser drawer. So every time it is used this water is replaced so with regular use there shouldn’t be any problem. Plus this design cuts down on most of the other regular maintenance done by hand with non self cleaning machines.
Hi, can the Bosch WTH8300AU heat pump dryer be stacked on the Bosch WAN24121AU front loader? The dimensions similar but not the same. We intend to also purchase the WTZ20410 stacking kit.
Hi , Thanks for the question regarding your Bosch appliances. Unfortunately the WAN24121AU cannot be stacked with other appliances due to the dimensions of the machine. This is the only washing machine in our range which doesn't allow a dryer to be stacked on top. If you need any more help, feel free to contact us on 1300 369 744. Regards, Bosch Home Australia
