Is Breville going to make a new version suitable for induction cooktops
I just had a look in the instruction manual & it says that is not suitable for use on induction cooktops.
Are you able to do delay start so you can prep the night before and does it come with a stainless steel rack or will any one be fit.
Hi Bel, It doesn't have a timer on it, so the only way to delay the start is to not turn it on...
But yes, it does come with a stainless steel rack so you can do roasts etc.
Hi Bel,
No you can not delay start times with this slow cooker, it only has a dial with High, Low, Auto & Off. Yes it comes with a stainless steel rack to cook roasts & other meals on.
I have just purchased Breville Slow Cooker BSC560 and read details on cooking roast leg of Lamb it does mention placing lamb on stainless steel rack.(No mention of any liquid or stock}Do you need stock or liquid in pan?Would appreciate some advice,
Bill many thanks

We were given this very large cooker as a gift, and as there are only two of us most of the time, I wondered whether it's possible to halve the quantities in the recipes?
For sure but what you need to be careful of that ot doesnt burn. What you could do us make extra freeze whats left over and then there's another nights dinner. I wish I could do that but with a teenage son who has mates here when its our turn (there's 6 of them and they take it in turns of clearing the pantry and fridge out) there's never any left I made a full sc full of sprag bol and it was all gone within half and hour. Ive now got the beville sc smart heat and it doesnt burn anything
Can this go in the oven?
Yes it can. The only thing Ive find is the non stick coating starts to peel of after a while. I've now got the beville smart heat which cant go in the oven but its fanastic cant go in the oven but I think its way better
Thanks Tease! I tried it last night actually and was fine but will keep in mind your experience in saying that the non stick might peel. Appreciate your answer. I love his model of slow cooker and now I know it go stove and oven also, in moderation perhaps, it's even better.
Can you get a replacement lid for the BSC500 model, if so where from?
Hi Grant - customer service can assist with spare part enquiries - 1300 139 798 or askus@breville.com.au
Thanks, the Breville team
Probably through beville
You can buy a replacement from Big Warehouse Spares: external link - $76 plus shipping. Given you can buy a whole cooker for about $140, this isn't a terrible idea if your cooker is still in good order.
Can this sear on an electric cooktop or just gas cooktops?
Hi Julie - gas and electric cooktops are suitable (on medium to high heat). Induction cooktops are not suitable. You can view the instruction booklet from this link for more information external link Thanks, the Breville team
Both, electric and gas!
(Not sure about induction)
Also you can download the instructions manual from Breville's website
Can you use the bsc560 on a induction stove?
Hi Maz - the inner pot cannot be use on an induction cooktop. Thanks, the Breville team
I have a Flavour Maker BSC500. Whenever I use a recipe that requires a liquid to be added, the liquid never reduces during cooking. When the meal is cooked it is swimming in liquid and I have to thicken it with Arrowroot. Does this happen to anyone else? I really don't think I should be having to do this every time I cook with it. It also barely simmers on the high setting.
The liquid is not supposed to reduce but I remove the lid & operate the cooker on high setting for 30-40mins or until liquid reduces by the desired amount. Alternatively, the liquid can be thickened by adding a mixture of cornflour and water and cooking On High setting without the lid until sauce has thickened
