Does the Breville slow/pressure cooker BPR-700 come with an optional stainless steel replacement for the Teflon coated bowl?

The yoghurt function goes from 1-2 on screen then 83 degrees. It just keeps going back and forth with these numbers. And the preheat light stays on.

Is the ‘top door compartment’ the hinge bit that holds the lid on? (referred to in the soldering solution to the EI problem)

I have a breville pressure cooker model bpr 700 bssanz. It has served me well til today. Now I get the EO error message and it doesn’t work. I tried resettling the silicone lid seal repeatedly, and unscrewed and rescrewed the lid nut, made sure everything else was in the right place, turned it off at the wall for 10 minutes twice but not working. What is wrong and can it be fixed?

If you look below a few have had the same. Soldering a broken wire seems to be the go.

I have had my Breville Fast Slow Pro for a couple of years and have really enjoyed using it. However, it will not get to temperature any more (eg: for sear, reduce etc). There is power to the unit but the screen just says 'pre-heating' and it doesn't warm-up. Anyone got any quick-fixes?

The gasket may be leaking. You could buy a replacement.

First time using the Breville Fast Slow Pro Pressure Cooker to make a Chicken Stock recipe straight out of the cookbook that came with the cooker. Lid shut, pin matches up, valve in right place. After it gets through pre-heating it starts spattering liquid out through the pin all over the lid and kitchen bench. I've never seen this before in our old pressure cooker. I ended up turning it off as it was so messy and dangerous with hot liquid spraying out and I'm guessing would only get worse throughout the next hour of cooking. Does anyone know why it did this?

E0 Error is an open circuit on the top door sensor. We have had ours for 2 years, Breville warranty is 12 months. Tried to sell me a new one. As an Electrician I decided to open the top door compartment and located a broken wire to the top sensor. Clearly a massive design flaw, as it seems to be a very common fault! Soldered the wire back and works fine now. Took less than half an hour to fix.

I have just had the same problem and following your experience, also found a broken wire. Soldered together and works excellently again. I cannot imagine how this wire would be broken - appeared to be cut - so I can only believe to be a massive design flaw. Easy fix though with a soldering iron.

Hi Michael, hope you are well. I can’t find the place to connect that black wire back. Can you remember where the place in the lid?

Hi Michael, hope you are well. Can you remember where the black cable was connected inside the lid? I’m having the same issue.

Has anyone broken the hinge that holds the lid in the upright position (wires intact) and used the pressure setting safely? I love this cooker of a winter and will be so sad to lose the pressure cooking setting

No I haven’t, I would get it repaired first before using

Hello, Just wondering how long it takes for the pressure to build up on the fast slow pro cooker. Mine takes ages. For example for Bolognese it takes at least 20 minutes for pressure to force the pin up , then about 20 minutes for it to preheat and then 20 minutes for the bolognese to cook. So I have to allow at least 1 hour before the food is cooked. Another issue I have is I have to “manually” raise the pin with a chop stick, as it always comes up with a message “lid not sealed”. But I know that it is sealed. I have ordered a new black rubber seal that goes under the lid and see if this makes any difference. The first fast slow pro II purchased I returned as it would always come up “lid not sealed”. But the second one also showed the same message, but I figured out how to overcome this. In summary it takes ages to use the pressure cooker - I thought it would be a lot quicker. Does anyone else have these problems. I have emailed breville and have done all the checks they suggest, but to no avail. thank you

Hi Christine, What you have described is the most complaints about this model. Sadly when I am rushed for a meal, my Fast Slow Pro BOR700 let’s me down every time, this is with the lid not sealing. The time it takes to build up pressure is normal for a pressure cooker. I haven’t found any fast way to build the pressure. I don’t cook my bolognaise sauce in pressure cooker as it takes the same time. I tend to cook tougher cuts of meat. I hope this helps

Thanks Joan, appreciate you sharing your experience. I feel a bit let down by the cooker, I thought it would make life easier, but not quite as I hoped. Thank you

Christine, I had the same issue with the pressure. It used to take an hour for 1,5L liquids to get to pressurised condition. The "open lid" issue is a must, I think )) I literally closed my eyes on all these problems till the issue with 1$ replacement release valve, which was unavailable to buy and I was advised to purchase a Whole Lid for $65)) I'll never buy it again.

Thanks Alex for sharing. Yes it’s very disappointing that it doesn’t work like it should.

Breville BPR700BSS On pressure cook veggies 7.5 psi for 8 min took 30 minutes to preheat. After 8 minutes the veggies were cold as well as the 1 liter of water. What is the next step in trouble shooting? Can this be fixed?

Only used one other time to slow cook pork chops.

All valves move and clean and the silicon ring is clean and installed correctly.

No error codes

Hi, I bought my Breville Fast Slow Pro about four months ago. The first two meals were brilliant though the rubber seal (gasket?) is very hard to get in in one tight spot around the rim. The Breville now has steam escaping through the lid, and often where the nut tightens when fitting the lid after washing. I've checked the valves are all clear, rewashed them but still have steam escaping. Initially, it escapes through the normal methods and then defaults to any gap in the lid which seems wobbly. It does not sit tight to the base. I don't know what else to do.

I'm guessing you have fitted everything back together incorrectly. I used this appliance for a few years and never had that problem! Maybe give Breville a call??? They should be able to help you

Frances
Frances

Thanks Charlotte. I've spoken to Breville since posting. Other people have this problem actually. It is usually a fitting problem or the rubber ring. We've gone through all the usual things on our first call. I missed a return call later that day but she kindly emailed and I'll follow up on Monday. She kindly gave me the option of returning it to the store I bought it from but thinks we can find the problem. I loved the food it produced until this problem and the best stock I'd ever made so I'm hoping a solution will be found if I am doing something basic incorrectly. I don't want to return it unless I really have to. I'll clean my glasses and make something from the recipe book that worked fine before this problem. ;) Thanks for your reply. It's actually very encouraging. Even if I do have to return it, I would have it replaced after your advice.

Are you able to cook on a stove top with the inner before putting it into the pressure cooker?

Charlotte R
Charlotte R

Definitely NOT - but the unit has a sauce and sear function so you just do that in the same pot in the pressure cooker but with the lid open then do the pressure cooking afterwards - one pot, such easy clean up!

Just want to say thanks for the reviews. No-one wants to risk the evening meal being raw when they get home from work. I'll be looking at other brands for my investment of time and money.

How do you seal the lid during pressure cooking, I have issues every time , it is very frustrating and time consuming

JACKIE BROWNE
JACKIE BROWNE

It's vital that the tiny valve in the lid is positioned properly. You look down the hole, see the circle at the top of the valve and then it will work. I think it pressure cooks beautifully. I have never used it as a slow cooker.

Maureen L.
Maureen L.

Can someone tell me how to seal the pressure cooker correctly, it is so finicky, most of the time it won’t seal after along time “getting to pressure and heating” Why is it so fussy? I thought it was suppose to be a fast cooker? That’s a joke!,

tronny
tronny

Agree, it is hard to seal. Make sure the seal is in position, fully pressed around the lid under the wire holder part.

Maureen L.
Maureen L.

Tried that, triedto not turn lid hard closed, pulled out sealing ring and cleaned, replaced, even reduced cooking time and pressure amount one of this works!,
