Hi I have the same mixer and it turns and stops rapidly and now it can't turn on any idea of how to fix it?
I had the same problem and took it in for repair at a local shop (not Breville). I think the problem was 'n faulty switch or starting capacitor. Mixer runs again, but gears are rattling a lot, and the mixer is on its last legs. Ran for 15 years though.
Can I buy attachments for my BEM400S from different BEM models?
Do you have spear parts? I would need the egg bitter

Sorry, but I threw the mixer away when I placed my review. If you are looking at buying another, try a Kenwood 'Chef Premier'. Much better!
