Politely, :) Why are people reviewing the wrong type on this thread , This is for the vertical shaped tub CREAMY CLASSICS for around 7 to 8 dollars as shown on the first photo at the top not the three after which are the flatter tub shaped ones for about 5 to 6 dollars , to very different types from the same maker. :)

Hello, This is Fazian from malaysia.I like Bulla's ice cream very much.I just want to ask whether E 471 in Bulla Classic Creamy Real Ice Cream Vanilla is made from plant of animal.

Hello , most I can find out is "animal fats are sometimes used and cannot be completely excluded as being present in the product" . Most often I have found if it doesn't say suitable for vegetarian it will contain some animal product like pig fat cow fat . I tried this Ice cream once and its terrible strange tasting , Other bulla ice creams like the cones taste of the same strange taste but the choc ice and others don't .

Is this product vegetarian?? Is emulsifier 471 derived from vegetable or animal?

Priyank

Boysenberry flavour color is Carmine which is from crushed bugs..not vegetarian

The 471 could be made from pork fat or olive oil. It could be 20% coconut oil from a stinking 30-year-old vat, mixed in with the by-product of a tanning factory. All you will see on the label is: emulsifier (471). (The ingredients say boysenberry syrup, which contains boysenberries. 160B color is from a seed. I don't see carmine listed.)

From there website: Emulsifiers 471, 476 and 477 are derived from vegetable. Bulls ice cream supplied to hospitals is labeled halal

Apologies, i do not know the answer to your question as i did not check the label

Email the manufacturers, that way you'll get the correct information. I think if it doesn't say "gluten free" then it's not.

Where can I purchase the 98% fat free single serve tub?

Jude
Jude

I have never seen single serve tubs. Best bet is to email the company and ask if they have them. I always buy the 2L ice cream; for 97% fat free I buy Peters Light and Creamy 2L . Skinny Cow Chocolate Vanilla & Caramel Cups are 97% fat free I believe.

I don't know about the Creamy Classics Lisa. You may have to email the Bulla company. I know they do have gluten free ice cream which is a lovely ice cream (not called Creamy Classics). Check here and you'll be able to recognise it in the shops. external link

It is still on the shelves in QLD. I hope they don't delete it as this is what I have had to turn to when they changed their vanilla 4L to reduced fat.
