Christine, our home sales consultant - honestly, an absolute angel! She was amazing when it came to picking our new home and working out what would suit our land. She explained absolutely everything to us in so much detail and never once made us feel stupid if we didn't understand something (even when we probably asked the same question 10 times). As a first home buyer, I have a very strict budget to stay under in order to qualify for the $750k first home grant. I was amazed walking through the display home and finding out that the base build price, including the promotional package, would still keep me under that limit. After visiting so many builders, I found Burbank’s pricing to be extremely competitive and fair.
I recently had my colour appointment and, honestly, I was overwhelmed and nervous that the variation costs would be very high just to include a few extra things I wanted in my home. Not only was I impressed with the range of options available, but my colour consultant, Alycia Varley, was amazing throughout the whole process. She helped calm me down, guided me through the selections, and made it much easier to decide what I wanted.
When the variation pricing came back, I was genuinely surprised at how reasonable it was. Working in the building industry myself, I have a strong understanding of trade and material pricing, so it was refreshing to see a builder not inflating prices and instead genuinely helping people get into homes despite the current cost of living pressures.
I’m very impressed with Burbank overall. A big shout out to David Doak at the Yarrabilba display home as well. We were working within a very strict timeline when choosing a builder, and he was incredibly helpful throughout the process. Anytime I’ve called in a panic, he’s been there to help, which has been greatly appreciated.

Although we have never met our Customer Care Coordinator, Karla, in person, her excellent email communication has been greatly appreciated. She has kept us informed, answered our questions clearly and helped us work through the steps towards construction.
There have been some hiccups along the way. Initially, the contract was not ready within the timeframe we needed, so we had to arrange to settle the land separately. Later, delays on the bank’s side meant construction could not begin when we had anticipated. These challenges were frustrating, but we appreciate Patricia’s and Karla’s support throughout the process.

I felt like they both truly understood what my partner and I needed but also wanted - there was a good combination of giving us what we need and where it was worthwhile spending extra money - this can be rare to find in teams who definitely have sales KPIs and interests behind them as well. Exceptional Guidance from Barrie (Sales) The main reason we initially looked into Burbank was because one of their display homes was right near my workplace, making it incredibly convenient to visit. From our very first walkthrough to the moment we finally signed our initial contract, the process spanned over a whole year. Every single time we stepped into the display home, Barrie greeted us with genuine warmth and enthusiasm. He answered our endless questions with unmatched patience and kindness. Whenever we hit a roadblock, he would roll up his sleeves and sit down with my husband to figure out the root of the problem, guiding us through every complexity. Barrie’s dedication is the exact reason we gained complete confidence in this builder.
2. Kristine, Our Color Selection "Angel" The color selection stage can be an incredibly overwhelming milestone. Personally, I have absolutely no sense of color coordination, so facing a mountain of interior fixtures—down to every tiny detail in the bathrooms—felt like a truly daunting task. Thankfully, we had Kristine. She was our absolute little angel. We visited the studio multiple times, called her, and emailed her constantly. She was incredibly patient, addressing our queries one by one with such kindness and grace. Even when we changed our minds a hundred times or asked repetitive questions, she never showed a hint of impatience. Instead, she guided us with the utmost professionalism and a warm heart.
A Team Full of Passion and Care The truth is, Burbank's team is filled with people like Barrie and Kristine. They don’t just treat this as a job; they take real joy in sharing our worries and celebrating our milestones.

After lunch at the local cafe it was time for our electrical appointment with Hayley Tupaea. She was also friendly and spontaneous. She made us feel at ease and selection and placement of all the lights and plugs was a breeze. If she did not know an answer to our question she let her fingers di the walking through a group chat and Bob is your uncle.

We built the Wilshire 221 at Narangba (Job 249336) and handed over in 2026. The finished home is solid and we're happy with the build quality. Getting there was harder than it should have been from a builder of this size. Pre-contract: Every time our plans were updated by our sales consultant, other items changed without us asking. repeated back-and-forth before we could finalise the contract. Contract signing: The engineering drawings didn't match what our consultant had submitted items had been added that we never requested. Removing them was quoted at an extra $1,000, despite the error not being ours. We spent 90 minutes working through the discrepancies on the day. The app: Progress tracking was a selling point. In reality only the slab and frame were ever uploaded. The app then crashed repeatedly and was discontinued before our build finished. Customer care: Our coordinator was frequently on leave with no handover contact provided. Calls went unanswered and emails often weren't replied to. This was the weakest part of the experience. Credit where it's due three people made this build work:
Marissa (Interior Design) was outstanding. She worked through our internal and external selections properly and made sure nothing was missed. She picked up that our plan had an undersized vanity in the ensuite, which we then had corrected. That was her catch, not ours.
Haley (Electrical Consultant) was helpful, clear and easy to work with. The electrical planning was one of the smoothest parts of the whole process.
Adam (Site Supervisor) was excellent weekly Friday email updates, easy to contact, and straight with us. He's the reason the build itself went smoothly.
The gap: The one pattern that ran through the whole build was no cover when staff were away. When our customer care coordinator was on leave, no alternative contact was provided. The same happened at Practical Completion our site supervisor was away on family leave and no one else picked up the communication, so we went into the PCI stage without updates. For a builder of this size, there should be a documented handover process when a key contact is unavailable. Good product, good people. The process and systems need real work.
Our experience with Burbank started well, but the quality and communication declined significantly once construction began. The sales and design stages were handled professionally, and the electrical consultation with Hayley was the only part of the process that genuinely felt supportive. poor. We have been stuck in ongoing cycles of follow‑ups, repeated emails, and chasing even basic updates. Most notifications were simply payment requests, with little meaningful information about progress. Early stages moved slowly, then everything was rushed, and we were given only three weeks’ notice for Form 21 and completion.
Our third‑party inspector clearly stated the house was not ready for PCI, yet Burbank proceeded anyway. During the walkthrough, we were told defects could be reported within 12 months and would be fixed. After moving in, we identified several major issues, but the supervisor dismissed them because they were “not on the PCI report,” despite earlier assurances.
The workmanship has also been disappointing. Paint and grout quality are only at the bare minimum standard, not what you would expect from a new build. Many items appear to be completed to the extreme limits of specification, rather than aiming for proper workmanship with minimal variation.
On top of this, Burbank’s compliance and quality‑assurance procedures do not adequately address customer satisfaction. Instead of resolving issues, the process feels defensive and dismissive.
Overall, the lack of accountability, poor communication, and minimal‑standard workmanship have made this a very frustrating experience.
