detailed breakdown over multiple meetings and emails, I was told this couldn't be provided due to "software limitations". As a customer making a major financial decision, I don't believe that's an acceptable explanation.

The quotation process also took much longer than expected, with repeated delays, which further reduced my confidence. In the end, I moved to another builder who provided much clearer documentation, itemised pricing, and was able to explain every variation in detail. The difference in transparency and customer experience was significant.

service. Regrettably, I was wrong.

It has taken more than two years to build an 18-square home. While I understand that COVID has significantly impacted the industry, all of my neighbors, whose homes commenced after mine during the same period, had their builds completed well before mine. This prolonged timeline caused me considerable financial strain due to accruing interest, and yet, I received no acknowledgment or support from Burbank in this regard.

While the sales process and the design studio experience were positive, the delays and lack of communication that followed were inexcusable. Every time I reached out, I was met with a standard response about the challenges facing the industry and a request for patience. I must remind Burbank that patience cannot be unlimited.

At the time of handover, I was unable to collect the keys at the house and had to visit your Altona office instead. From there, I went straight to my new home, only to discover paint chips in the corridor. When I reported this to the construction supervisor (who is apparently part of the management team), his behavior was appalling. Not only did he refuse to address the issue, but his attitude and tone were intimidating and hostile. It was a deeply unsettling experience, and even as I write this, I still feel shaken by his conduct.

What concerns me further is that I have been told this individual also bullies staff and leverages his management position to his advantage. This raises serious questions about Burbank’s culture and its treatment of both customers and employees.

To Burbank management, I urge you to reflect on how your customers are treated. It is disheartening to feel that, after contributing to your organization’s success, we are met with such disregard. Let me be clear: I do not wish ill upon Burbank or its founders. I genuinely hope that your organization achieves success and becomes a leading builder in the country. However, this cannot come at the expense of integrity and customer respect.

Please ensure that bullying, whether internal or directed at customers, is eradicated from your organization. It is a symptom of a deeper issue that needs immediate attention.

Finally, I must express that I will not consider Burbank for any future builds—not solely due to the delays but because of the way your team made me feel throughout this process. I wish the founders of Burbank all the best in their endeavors, but I sincerely hope that you take this feedback as an opportunity for growth and change.
