If all of these people take the bother to write a review about how unhappy they are that the chocolates have been changed dramatically from the originals, why haven’t to you responded? And told us why you changed the flavours.
Where did the dark chocolate orange filled one and strawberry cream one go? There’s two crappy caramel and two hazelnut varieties, as well as a disgusting mocha flavour. Bring back the old flavours!
Why since Cadbury roses had changed to Australian manufacturers the recipe has been reduced to dust.. it's disappointing to taste something that was a great gift in nz To something similar to over cooked caramel with crunchy pieces of sugar with no love and attitude put into it.. what has become of our recipes in nz
Cadbury is now owned by Mondelēz International an American multinational based out of Chicago. I would speculate that they decided to do an ingredients audit of Cadbury products and where possible substitute a cheaper alternative. I would again speculate that eventually they reached the Roses product and tried to work out a way to make them cheaper to produce while claiming it was all due to consumer demand. Not being a company insider I cannot verify my theory but one has to wonder what the motivation was to change an extremely popular, indeed much loved product (Roses chocolates) when no-one (myself included) likes any of the changes and I for one will no longer buy them as a consequence. I fear the same strategy is going to be applied to what was my absolute fave - Cadbury Milk Tray but only time will tell.
Can you please bring back the original roses. Loved them bought them constantly in the large tins and took them to work and shared. Haven't bought the new ones since I tried the new ones. Hate them. Also buy less of the blocks of chocolate now cause the sizes are constantly dropping but the price is always increasing.
They dont give a crap anymore, cadbury has been bought by idiots. Downsize products, hike up the prices and screw the consumer. Gotta fatten the glutton rich american owners back pockets. Probably go for a goverment bailout when they run it into the ground.
They've lost me and I'm telling people who used to give them to me as a gift not to waste their money. Dreadful.
Why are the new Roses that are so unpopular still being made? Your sales would go through the roof if you changed back to the delicious originals!
I used to love Roses chocolates but won’t ever buy them again. I used to love the creamy centre but hate the ones they have now Booooo to Cadbury
Surely changing roses is a mistake. The decreased sales must reflect this. Why do you persist in marketing this woeful product? Nobody likes them.
Its a corporate tax write off. That way they can funnel the funds offshore without attracting ATO suspicion.

Im going to say this and I don’t care what I get back. I’m a kiwi. The Cadbury factory in Dunedin NZ used to make the chocolates. Now they’ve closed down. Since Aussie now makes Cadbury, they taste like crap. Sorry. But I don’t care they taste like crap. You’ve ruined a classic box that didn’t need to be changed. The one flavour I loved is now gone. I’ve tried every single flavour of the new box. No way will I ever buy these again. Whittaker’s chocolate, Lindt, quality chocolates, Farrero, and even kinder chocolate have by far surpassed you big time. They make the better product. All of them. So Cadbury, what are you gonna do about that? Because, in my opinion and by looks, most others too, they have all beaten you immensely in this competition
Cadbury to chocolate, is like Holden is to cars. They started out great, but both are dead and buried.
A comment above has explained that Cadbury has been bought out by some dreadful American company. They are nothing like what we used to buy and love in Australia either. The Cadbury Roses (once my absolute favourite) have been ruined for Australian and New Zealand consumers by an American policy of cheapest ingredients combined with excessive price. Just a typical rip-off of their customers.

I was given a Box of Cadbury Roses today. I noticed one of the ingredients is shellac which is derived from beetles.
Why won't any cadbury representatives answer any of the above questions? I imagine it is due to embarrassment to be associated with any company be it either kraft, mondelez or cadbury who would pull such a rotten swifty on loyal customers (up until now that is, many customers have now gone).
If not answering I hope that somebody from Cadbury is at least reading these reviews and taking notice of them

Hi Fred, I know several people who have gone directly to Cadbury and were told that Cadbury need to keep up with changing times and tastes. My point is made in this forum along with many many others so Cadbury can see that changing something that did not need changing was a very poor marketing choice. They will have another quiet Christmas this year as well. Already I see the Roses on perpetual special because nobody is buying them...
Why have you changed the Roses formulae? MacDonalds won’t change the Big Mac... Coca Cola tried it and quickly reversed it. There smart. Your not .
They closed the NZ factory that made Roses. The twist wrapping machine has been scrapped. They're now made in Australia by a contractor. Hence no more twist wrappers. The factory that makes and packs them now uses the continuous sleeve wrapper.
I hate those new wrappers too!

why since craft is the owners of Cadbury have you changed the taste of the chocolate and an e.g. the hazelnuts are a lot smaller and less amount in the hazelnut bar.

This chocolates are a disgrace, i brought these for the strawberry cream and peppermint, i have brought two boxes ans opened to only find 1 peppermint chocolate in the big box of chocolates, whays with the sugar chunks in each chocolate?

Wondered what all the hype was over your change in roses chocolates. Just opened a box from Christmas. If life is like a box of chocolates, shoot me now. What a box of total disappointment. Why change the original. Your loss,will never buy them again. Listen to the chocoholics!!!!!!

Probably not! Remember how they removed the smooth dairy milk from the Creme Egg and everyone protested? They didn't change them back, so I doubt they'll return the Roses to their original form. If the Roses stop selling they'll probably stop making them altogether and introduce some other crap new thing that their marketers make up. We need someone to buy Cadbury from the current owners and return everything to the way it was!

Just tried the new flavours and will not buy again. I suggest they return to the old favourites.
