and the walls which was between 2mm and in some places 7mm. Finishing in this way would prevent capture of dirt/dust, and also prevent mould as the floor will be mopped from time to time and I live in tropical Qld. Again, I am handy so went around with SikkaFlex myself, but this might not be so easy for others. Also, to me this should have been a part of the job.

The Carpet: So they laid entirely the wrong carpet. Then I was at their mercy to wait for the problem to be fixed. This meant I needed to apologise to incoming residents that they now needed to find alternate accommodation for a week as they had scheduled their move based on the timeline which included Carpet Court completing the service as promised when asking for all money up front. The carpet was the last part of some renovations which included painting, which I did. When they pulled up the wrong carpet it caused significant damage to the painted surfaces on the skirting boards as well as halfway up the door jams, and even dented walls. Once more, I'm handy, and had the paint there so did the repairs and touch ups myself which took me a day. I can however see this would have been a bigger and much more expensive issue for someone other than myself and my circumstances. Particularly if they did not have recent colour matched paint on hand.

I am not sure what this trend is of late where trades expect customers to pay in full up front? It reminds me of the song 'Don't pay the ferryman' and certainly takes away any chance you have to conduct assurance or quality check their work. It also leaves you at their mercy for remediation when they have little motivation as they already have the funds.

Useless organisation! – I first approached the lilydale branch in march last year to get a quote for vinyl flooring. After 3 weeks of chasing them to get a samle pack, they came out to measure up to quote. Never heard from them again! I waited 6 months and approached the kilysth branch. the installation, I rang to confirm before moving all the furniture. I was told that no, the installation would not be going ahead as the installer was in hospital for back surgery. After week of chasing them another date was agreed to. 2 working days before that date I rang to confirm. I was told that there was another delay because the installer had to work the weekend on would be too tired and needed a day to recover! The installer did turn up and did a reasonable job except for 1 poorly done join (there are 2 joins). After 3 weeks, a change in the light showed up that the other join was not "welded" and join was not sealed. I sent a message to the manager that I needed this fixed urgently. After 2 days the manager returned my call and said nothing could be done until after Christmas. I waited until the 18th of January and then sent daily messages with almost no response. Eventually I was told the installer would be here Thursday to fix! He didn't turn up and the manager will not return my texts. I now have to find someone to fix the problem. Useless organisation!

Very good product bad service on laying the vunyl – Carpet Court Philip ACT very bad laying after coming to a floor joint kept on laying so ended up with large gap. Also they didn’t rest the vinyl on site before using as per manufacturer instructions. Show details

some planks are not flush with each other. I believe the product is good, however the prep & install is the issue. I’ve raised it with Graham ((Owner), his response is that it “looks better than his place”. Very disappointed by the misleading advise, as we asked these questions prior to going ahead. If I have to put up with these floors Carpet Court should reimburse the cost of the very average installation.

Vinyl planks flooring – A fantastic product and well laid over my old slate floors, which now looks more than 100% better. So i am extremely pleased with the results and highly recommend it . For slate the layers first put a cement solution type slurry across the floor to make it nice and level and then laid the new floor covering plank by plank, too easy really, with no problems at all Show reply
