Hi. I've just set my welder up and there's a kinda squealing noise coming from the wire feeder which doesn't sound right. Has anyone else had this issue?

The wire feed spindle keeps coming loose. Had this issue since day 1. Should there be a locking nut? It causes my wire to unspool. Cigweld, what is the solution here??

Hey Steve, Thanks for reaching out - first please check that you have setup the machine as as per section 5.02 of the operating manual, there is a drawing indicting the correct setup. Secondly, If the nut is too tight it causes friction on the spool which can potentially loosen the nut. This can also cause strain on the wire feed motor which will reduce its lifespan.

Feel free to contact customer service via our website or social media if you need any more help.

I cannot control the spool unwinding during operation. Is there a spring missing ti tie the spool down?

Sorry no it is dc welder. You need ac to weld aluminium .

No you can use this DC MIG unit to weld Aluminium. Need to use pure argon it is said elsewhere. Need to consult experts on need to modify feeder line for less friction. Page 5-19 of this model’s manual, under the list of wires (Diagram 5-1) shows the aluminium wire type needed.

Good welder but the wire feeder keeps feeding a little extra every time. Not good for welding tacks on thin sheet metal as you have to keep cutting the excess wire off. Maybe a problem with the handpiece?

Yes. I have found this too. Very annoying. Is it the soft start feature that is culprit?

I am setting up my easyweld 130 and noticed that the positive and negative connections are opposite to the ones shown on the operating manual booklet. Has anyone else found this? Please advise as I don’t want to stuff it up.

The early models I believe had the two connectors swapped. Please just follow what the markings on the machine say. Sorry for the confusion.
