Council finally permitted this to happen. For a number of years we have wanted Coral Homes to build us one of their standard designs. We had meetings with Coral, showed them pictures of the land, and they prepared a New Home Estimate and then a revised New Home Estimate with which we were happy. So we decided to proceed to the Preliminary Agreement and paid our $2500 deposit. We knew from our discussion our site needed excavation, piers and some tree removal. However sadly after their site investigations they advised they didn’t want to build our new house. We are disappointed. Before the Product Review Mediation of the list of items to be provided for us with our Preliminary Agreement, we had only seen a partially completed contour and features survey, but not received after requests: the soil test and/or geotechnical report; the Council report on the land, including zoning and any relevant planning overlays or other requirements (town planning); or a copy of the site inspection report. At least if we had these documents, for which we have paid, we would be able to use them for designing our house with others. Since the mediation we are still waiting upon the completion of the contour and features survey and the soil test and/or geotechnical report. We know both of these reports have been done, as we met the people who prepared them when they came to our property. But we haven’t seen the completed survey or soil report! The survey and soil test and/or geotechnical report are a big part of the Preliminary Agreement costs which we paid. This doesn’t seem fair to us to not have our Preliminary Agreement completed.

experience 5 stars as the site supervisor (initials [Name Removed]) came through for us and got the house built in 6 months (including the 3 week break over Christmas).

The sales consultant and process was exceptional. The colour selection was excellent as was the electrical appointment but the tile selection process was not as good in comparison. We also found the admin stage to be quite lengthy and a mistake was made in applying for a form which set the start date back. Taken as a whole however we were pretty happy with the initial stages.

The build itself went very well and our site supervisor [Name Removed] kept us updated along the way. We were happy with his responsiveness to our questions. We were also very pleased with the finish of our home. The list of items to tidy up before handover was minimal and there were no major defects.

Post handover a few items cropped up such as a burner on the stove that was not functioning and this was quickly attended to. There are a couple of minor items that still need fixing up but they are non urgent items and we have been advised they will be fixed within the warranty period.

In conclusion we had a very positive experience with Coral Homes and in particular with the supervisor in the Northern Rivers, [Name Removed] (his initials). We would choose to build again with Coral Homes and would not hesitate to recommend them, particularly in the area we built.

and the excuses became a routine part of the experience. On top of the delays, we were hit with frequent and unexpected variations—many of which felt unnecessary or conveniently timed to increase costs. It felt less like we were building a dream home and more like we were being taken advantage of. What’s even more frustrating is that their advertising is completely misleading. Once you're locked in, the reality is very different from what’s promoted. We had read other customer reviews warning of similar issues, but assumed they must’ve been isolated incidents. After all, Coral is a member of the MBA, so how bad could it really be? Sadly, those reviews were absolutely accurate. We should have listened. If you're considering building with Coral Homes, we highly recommend doing your research and seriously reconsidering. Don’t be swayed by the glossy brochures or sales talk—our experience has been stressful, disappointing, and far from the professional standard we expected.

Once you sign on the dotted line you hear nothing for weeks to months. If you have any defects or a lot like us. It takes over a year and a lot of stress and phone calls to get anything sorted. English. As I was home alone with my toddler. When we moved in we had a kitchen sink that was scratched up, a lock for our outdoor sliding door scratched up, doors not sealed and now a water leek. You have to chase every little thing up multiple times and honestly you’re better off just going though fair trade it’s less stress. I would highly recommend to steer clear of coral homes. Honestly a nightmare.

I have been in the building industry for 40 years and I have never had so much trouble with a builder, they ignored our emails .messages and getting them back to fix things....well it's been over a year and we are still waiting. If you are looking for a builder take my advice and go with metricon or perry. Show details

Deplorable – Wow. Building with coral was one of the most painfull experiences of my life. It was that bad that we were asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement so we wouldn't use disparaging remarks regarding coral. 13 months past completion date costing us a small fortune in rent while paying a mortgage aswell. Overall we are extremely happy with our new build. It was seamless from start to finish and were given excellent communication through the whole process. Any issues were dealt with quickly and efficiently. Our cost came in under budget for the build which is always a bonus.
