Good value for money – Compact coffee machine with a powerful steam wand. The key is to firstly flush the water before steaming the milk. Secondly fill the milk to the v shaped bottom of the spout. Third push the valve up before steaming the milk. Steam the milk for 30 seconds then push the valve down to let air in to create the Crema & steam the milk for a further… Read more

You got to love delonghi.
When I give them a good review of the delonghi dedica. No recognition, absolutely zero.
But when I give an honest review of their absolute Rubbish of a lemon, Delonghi Magnifica Evo, they cry like babies. Got to love delonghi.
Perfect little coffee machine – Love this little machine. Makes great coffee, easy to clean and takes up so little bench space. We've had it for 2 years now, use it every day and it's still going strong. Show details · 1
Fantastic little machine, and I say that as a previous owner of a Rocket Giotto – I owned a Rocket Giotto for about 4 years, and used it to make 2-3 coffees on it every day. I bought this was a back-up machine, mainly to take on weekend getaways and road trips. The Giotto makes cafe quality coffee but is very bulky and takes 1/2 hour to warm up. I decided to downgrade from this $3600 machine to a $280 Delonghi, and I… Read more
couldn't be happier.
I made two modifications - I sawed off the steam wand to reveal just the rubber tip, so I can froth my soy milk and do a rosetta pour. I also replaced the pressurised basket with an aftermarket non-pressurised basket, which also increases the amount of coffee ground it holds (from 7.5g to 10g).
This is the result! I am so happy with the machine, I'm considering buying a spare when it's on sale!

Quick shots from a small footprint – I can’t find the receipt but I’m pretty sure I have had my Delonghi Dedica EC 680 manual coffee machine for three years. Its small footprint was important in selecting it to replace my old unit as worktop space, if not at a premium, is not infinite in my kitchen. Three finishes were on offer – red, black and stainless which I chose. It has proven… Read more
easy to keep clean.
It’s small but can it make a decent espresso? I have pulled at least ten shots a day, for family and friends, every day for three years, and I have had consistently good results with beans I grind myself or pre-ground kilo bricks. I am happy with the crema delivered by the Dedica.
The machine is programmable in terms of coffee temperature, coffee volume, water hardness and stand-by time. Programming is straightforward using the three buttons above the group head. These same buttons convey operational status and indicate when to descale.
The filter holder has three filters - one shot, two shot and ESE. The filters are pressurised which promotes consistent extraction but may not suit the more expert domestic coffee maker. The frothing wand is of the panarello type which assists in the creation of froth but again, may not suit the more expert domestic coffee maker. The machine has a 1 litre water tank which I typically fill once a day. The water heater is of the thermobloc type which is very quick to reach operating temperature and recover.
Recently, I have started experimenting with various brands of ESE pod with the idea in mind that visitors can easily make a coffee themselves even though they are unfamiliar with this type of machine. To extend this idea, I have bought a Lavazza milk frother so that the ease of use of a capsule machine is approximated.
If you want to use a taller glass or mug, you will have to remove the drip tray to get more clearance. Delonghi has released the Dedica Deluxe 685 which is slightly smaller and lighter with some differences/enhancements including a second smaller drip tray under the main drip tray to address the clearance issue. The Deluxe’s frothing wand also features a sliding collar to select frothing or heating. At the time of writing both models appear to be available, the Deluxe at a modest premium.
I have descaled the Dedica regularly as indicated by the steam button light changing from white to orange. I have replaced the group head gasket twice and replaced the two shot filter once. These spares are easily available on eBay and elsewhere.
All in all, this is an easy-to-use, well-priced, solid, competent coffee machine for the rest of us.

Last only 6 months and pump is gone!!!!! – The coffe taste is excellent very neat easy to store don't take much room on the kitchen easy to use But the machine I have purchase Dedica won't pump the coffe after 6 months or was a faulty one bought it from The Good Guys Noarlunga when for service and it took 4 weeks to get a response from service department after several hard chats with… Read more
service and the manager of the store they agree to reimburse my money, that was a smart move from management of The Good Guys. I will buy something else won't trust Delongi .....sorry .....big name on coffee machines but at $279.00 should last more them 6 months someone on this page said 2 years warranty ...wrong the warranty excuse me is only 1 year On the manual from Delongi mate !!! have look on comments here and some said fantastic machine I have bought it last week sure hope it will last more then 6 months as my did't pump the coffe after 6 months Beware and good luck!! But you have to tell the truth sometime. The service company for Delongi first up said that the holes on the containers where you place the coffe where too small and the machine can't pump the coffe through what a easy get away, so I said to them how came it was not problems for 6 months??? I not a technician myself but what you have told make not sense I think is the pump system mate so after 4 long week and several phone calls they opt to refund my $ 279.00. You got to fight for your pension dollars
Very happy (if slightly hyper) customer – I bought this 3 days ago (my first machine) and I think I'm going to love it. Currently I'm experimenting with the amount & tampedness (not in the spellchecker: means how squashed it is) of the beans as I have been making the coffee too weak. Tried less tamping today (per the instructions - duh!) on a double dose and now have the heart rate of an… Read more
eight year old.
I love that the machine seems to be sturdy and the instructions are pretty comprehensive. I think I'll need to keep referring to them for a while.
I am lucky that my normal mugs are short & fit in the unit but I can see that it would be annoying otherwise as the cup gets warmed as it is used so you would have cold coffee if you had to decant it.
The milk frother is an unexpected delight! I thought that it looked too short and deliberated for an age over whether to get a less attractive, bigger unit with a longer frother. However, this all works well and I am able to win my kids over with fantastic hot chocolates. Again, this could be to do with my stumpy mugs.
Cleaning on coffee machines is going to be bad. There is milk. There are small filtery holes. I shouldn't think that this is any better or worse than the other machines.
Beautiful coffee, easy to use – I received this machine as a gift just over a week ago. I've never owned an espresso machine before so was considering a pod coffee machine but my husband bought me this instead seeing as it can use the ESE 'pods' as well as any brand of ground coffee you desire. I did try the ESE pod (I received some as part of the gift) I wasn't thrilled with… Read more
them and found they did little to save on time or add to convenience. I also didn't like the coffee used in the one I tried or the amount of waste created.
The machine is very straight forward, easy to use and clean, super fast to heat up and takes little longer than an instant coffee to make (I don't drink my coffee milky so don't need to use the steam wand). The clean up is over in a minute as well and can easily wait until you've finished your cuppa.
As for steaming milk I have tried it for hot chocolate, only using the wand in 10 second bursts as advised by the manual. Within a minute you have beautiful creamy, warm frothy milk. Clean up for the wand is also easy. The wand can be used for hot water too. I was using it to turn my espresso into a long black but I found this messy and tedious and it's easier to boil the kettle. The machine pumps the water out in bursts so that by the time your cup is filled the water is splashing all over the place.
Unfortunately the machine seems to have an issue with the power button and auto off function. The power button was working fine for the first week but has since decided it's stuck in the on position. I have to turn it off with the power point. As the machine keeps the water heated and ready I thought the auto off function was great but the times I hot side tracked and didn't turn the machine off it remained on the whole time. This would use quite a bit of power I'd imagine.
The only other 'con' is the pressurised portafilter which ensures lovely crema every time but it's artificially produced rather than being a product of quality fresh coffee that's been made well.
Overall I can hardly wait to get out of bed in the morning to enjoy my coffee. The machine looks great in the kitchen, takes up less space than a toaster and is so pleasant to use I can't imagine considering a pod machine ever again.

Great machine – We've had this machine for 4 years..the on/off button felt like it was sticking, so run it directly from the wall switch. Don't over tamp the coffee. We love it. Takes minimal bench space which was the initial appeal. So much of coffee is what you get used to. Don't use the milk frother. Show details
Excellent espresso maker, and so compact! – If you want a genuinely excellent, attractive espresso maker at a reasonable price but don't have a lot of room for one of the behemoth "standard" machines, the De'Longhi EC680 is exactly what you've been looking for. This machine requires about the same amount of counter space as a Keurig coffee machine. Technically, it's only 2/3 the width of a… Read more
typical Keurig, but you want to leave a little room on the right so that the steam wand remains easily accessible.
Best coffee maker – So happy with this coffee machine. I’ve had a Nespresso machine before and hated it, too expensive to buy coffee pods and didn’t like any of the coffees or I wanted a simple machine that made good coffee and allowed me to use organic coffee. After having tasted coffee made in Italy using one of these machines I was sold! So easy to use, coffee… Read more
is always hot and I can use organic coffee. We bought the Alicia Latte milk frother and it works like a charm.
Friends who have bought expensive oversized coffee machines can’t believe how much better coffee from our machine is. And it doesn’t take up half the kitchen bench!

Coffee Good but – I've had my machine about a year and a half. I really do love the espresso it produces (along with a good quality of chosen ground beans) but...I find the descaling requirement is WAY more often than other machines I have had, the process of descaling is really inefficient and recently, after descaling, I cannot get the machine to produce espresso… Read more
shots. I have done EVERYTHING in the manual and / or videos but when I do not have coffee in the filter and just use water - no problem. The MOMENT I place coffee in the filter - no liquid comes through the filter at all. I'm pretty disappointed because I love the machine. But....,
PS: I was contacted by delonghi & offered some assistance - but then I never heard from them!!! Service is so bad.
Do not recommend both prodcut and customer service – The coffee machine is very poor quality. Getting broken very often. My friends have the same one and the same problem occurs (pressure) My broken when under warranty and I have sent it back in August The last one part of the machine (handle) and from August (we have end of November) I am not able to use it as the missing part is out of stock Show details

Absolute rubbish product – It's a rubbish product. It made about 8 cups of coffee and then refused to make another one. Coffee loaded and nothing came out into the cup so I scooped all the coffee out and put it into my 3 year old $69 Aldi machine and it all worked fine. When it worked the quality was no better than what the Aldi machine made and a far cry from what you get in a coffee shop. It's going back for a refund. Show details

You better be a true barista to operate this machine – I bought this on amazon. Hate this machine, as I wasted more espresso when the water would not brew and drip and got stuck frequently. Would not matter if I packed the espresso lose or tight had many issues. Also the milk froth leaked water in my milk and watered it down. Waste of money and difficult to operate!!! I’m apparently not a barista or this is defective machine. Show details
Pod Famine – Machine is very good but availability of ESE pods is very bad. I searched from Canberra today and found that there was no supplier with stock within 200k. Resellers seem to have given up on them. Bad news DeLonghi!. I will just need to find another source of ESE Pods. If you can't get resellers interested in selling them why don't you ask competitive mail order suppliers to add them to their offerings - or improve your own service. Show details
Nope – Had this thing serviced a bunch of times because it's perpetually breaking down. Has to go through the de-scaling process all the time which is super annoying. Pretty darn useless in my experience. When it's working, the coffee tastes fine I guess, but I would caution against buying one of these. Show details
So happy with it – We brought this to replace our sunbeam coffee machine and it's 1000 times better! It is compact so takes up no room in my bench. I love that it doesn't use coffee pods (better for the environment) and it heats up really quickly! I have nothing bad to say about this machine. Very happy with my purchase. Show details
Love this machine – Love this machine! You can use pods or ground Coffee in it so it gives you a variety of coffee styles. It also is very quick heating up so makes it easy to make a quick cuppa in the morning before work. I chose the silver to blend in our kitchen, but I would have liked a wider range of colours! Researched this before buying it and were very happy with the purchased! Show details
A great machine but the noise – I purchased this machine as the Distinta has been discontinued. The dedica is a compact, easy to clean machine. Crema is lovely and pulls a decent shot. Love the adjustable temp for coffee shots! Disappointed that the machine is quite noisy due to the metal parts, but still pulls a great shot. Show details
Good sized espresso machine – This machine makes a good coffee and sits next to my coffee grinder taking up very little space on the kitchen bench. All the parts go in the dishwasher ok. The milk frothier is not the bestie that it is not real creamy and tends to be watery, but it does the job of heating. Show details
Great for a fam – I love this product as i bought it for my birthday. It is easy to use and makes delicious shots. The only thing is i bought mine from the good guys au and it didnt have the right milk frother attachment as seen in the pictures. I wouldnt mind a new bit! Show details
Great coffees but room for improvement – Perfect compact coffee maker to fit into my apartment's small kitchen. Probably even a good size for a caravan if you can spare the money! The only problem is I had to scour the net and the guide to figure out what the… Read more
different blinking lights meant (should be the front page of the guide or a seperate extra page). Also, despite having a milk frother so made for full manual coffees, the distance between the base of the machine and where the coffee comes out only fits a small cup. Perfect for a piccolo but you will need to use a small cup and tip it into a bigger cup if you like anything bigger. All in all, great product and would recommend, but just be aware of those 2 minor issues.

Grounds spread every where – Had this for a couple of years now and it's so annoying to use I've bought another fully automatic one. To start with you need ground beans which means you. Red a grinder then you need to put beans in the group head and tap down which is an art and you spill grounds every where once you've done that hope you did it right because if you haven't it… Read more
won't screw in then when your all done you need to get rid of all the grounds which is just one messy process before you enjoy the coffee
Solid espresso machine, weak steam wand – This thing has been churning out perfect espresso shots everyday for the past 5 months and i love it for this function. However the steam wand is relatively weak and takes a long time to foam up the milk and ive never really managed to achieve that perfect barista-standard glossy foamed texture in the milk. But the machine is great for the price… Read more

Good little machine! – I absolutely love my coffee but spend a fortune on takeouts. I love this little machine which makes a really nice cup. Its easy to use and looks smart on my kitchen counter top. Saving me lots on cafe bought coffees!!! I chose the silver model but comes in a great range of colours red and black Show details
Great little machine – Use this machine 2-3 times a day without any issues and love it. Simple to use and makes great coffee for a bargain of a price in my opinion. Perfect size if you're just after a couple of cups at a time. It did leak a bit when I first got it but it must have settled itself as this is no longer an issue. Show details
Perfect! Can't live without it! – Love this little machine!! Upgraded from an Aldi pod machine and haven't looked back! Love the taste of my coffee which comes out with a lovely froth without having to use the milk frothier. I love how compact and easy to use this little machine is. Easy to clean and well worth the extra time it takes to manually make your coffee opposed to using a pod machine and better for the environment!!. We use our coffee grains in the garden! Show details
Love my coffee machine – This is a great coffee machine. The coffee is so creamy and tastes great, it's extremely easy to use. I suggest watching tutorials before setting up this coffee machine so you know what you're doing. Descaling is easy but again watch a tutorial or 2 on how to do it. I have only had mine for 3 weeks and although it had to be returned as it was faulty I still loooove the coffee. It comes out so creamy and the crema is beautiful. It also makes lovely silky milk every time. It's easy to use but I suggest going on YouTube on how to set it up and also of how to descale it as it's a bit weird. I do recommend buying this though
Excellent, highly recommended – This is a very good machine after a series of Sunbeam coffee machine breakdowns and returns. I discovered that you can get a mug under it by removing the drip tray. It has a small water resevoir but that's OK, it's right next to the sink. It is also fairly quiet and makes a great coffee. The steamer makes great milk froth easily and the nozzle… Read more
doesn't get milk burned onto it. I just ignore the flashing descale light - it still works perfectly and I'm not spending $29 on descaler beacuse a light says so, I know this is at my own peril ! It did come with a small amount of descaler though.
amazing machine – I love the Delonghi Dedica, It is easy to use and makes great espressos, i have used pods in the past and this machine is much better. quick and easy to use and no need to go out for coffees any more, comes with cleaning info and products to de-scale Show details
Quality coffee in a flash – The Delonghi EC 680 is quick at delivering quality coffee for anybody on the go who hasn't got time to wait in line at a café - the fact you don't have to worry about disposing of so many spent pods is a bonus and makes this machine an eco-friendly coffee win Show details

No more pods! – Tried some of the Nespresso pod models but was worried about the disposal of the pods. Then my wife bought me the EC680 for Christmas - now my worries are over! always use my favourite blend and it tastes better than with my old system. Compared to the Nespresso units the coffee is just as good (if not better). Even though spooning out the coffee into the filter cups takes a few minutes more, the fact that there is no waste material from it is a bonus. Also the milk frother steam arm makes the best flat whites and cappuccinos! Highly recommended.
Great little machine – This is a great little machine which hasn't failed me yet. I have had it for over 2 years and it hasn't missed a beat. I would definitely recommend it over a pod machine. I bought this to replace my Delonghi Icona pump machine, which ended up leaking after about 2 years. Show details
