has the issue with milk frother not working after descaling been rectified?

Hi. I don’t have a machine yet, but am interested in purchasing. The only thing holding me back is the reviews where they’ve complained that the frothet has gone bust after a descale. Has Delonghi addressed the issue because quite a few people have complained about it.

Hi Aidam, Thank you for your question. Please be advised that when you first receive your appliance we ask that you read the manual and follow Setting Water Hardness instructions for your region.

Once you set this - You will find you do not need to descale as often if you have good water and use the filter provided, the setting will be correct and it will not cause any issues with the descaling/milk frothing.

We find that if this is not set and if the appliance undergoes a descale very early on " major clean " which is not needed will loosen the lines so setting it up first correctly is very important. Milk frothing issues range from a number of things but once its set, we will help you with the rest if something does occur which is very simple and easy troubleshooting.

I have had this machine for a few months now, and it makes black coffee with no issue, but when I try to make a milk coffee it starts the process then displays 'general alarm'. This is for both hot and cold milk drinks. It allows me to use the clean function on the milk carafes but no milky coffees?
