Can I use a 3 piece universal capsule holder in the EDG 605. R machine?

Pineappleskip
Pineappleskip

There s no universal capsule type, for example Nespresso, Lavazza and Dolce Gusto all take different capsules. All the dolce gusto machines take the same type of capsules, so if the capsule is designed to fit dolce gusto it should work.

Good day My Circolo machine sounds as if the water should run through, but it stops without a drop coming out. I cleaned the pin, tried without a capsule, but it still does the same. The pump is running and when it stops all lights are flickering. Please help?

The dial to change cup levels is not working. It remains on 1 green bar only. Can this be fixed? Christine

Check the questions and you’ll see a lot of failures coming up now. Suspect these machines have reached their use-by date. When ours failed two years ago we bought a cheap model on special. Seems top price doesn’t buy top quality :(

My Delonghi Dolce gusto circolo suddenly does not heat, all the functions are working, but pressing the red heat button does nothing, pressing the cold button works though. Please advise, thank you

Tried all the recommended suggestions but still can't get water through my Dulce Gusto EDG 250 machine.

Does the water pump when the capsule container is in the machine without a capsule? If not sounds like the machine is defective and you could take it up with Dolce Gusto if its still under warranty.

Machine will not switch on. Checked fuse it’s fine. Less than year old any help?

Pineappleskip
Pineappleskip

You're the second person in a row who asked this. We had the experience of the machine suddenly failing to power up also. So looks like a systemic issue. We threw it out and bought a cheaper one on sale; unfortunately none of the current models have the water tank capacity of Circolo.

If its less than one year old it might be covered by warranty - see how you go with Dole Gusto Customer support; we found them pretty good overall.

why does Dolce Gusto machine not switch on? Worked last time I used it a few weeks ago.

Pineappleskip
Pineappleskip

Are you referring to the power button not changing from red to green? We got around this by turning it off, then on again, sometimes more than once. Ultimately our machine decided one day the power button was not going to light up at all. Tried everything, then threw it out. Moral of story, don’t buy an expensive version, no better than the cheap one. We have two piccolos that still work fine.

I've been looking everywhere for the tea capsules to make iced tea - can anyone help please?

Pineappleskip
Pineappleskip

Hi Nelly Many varieties don't seem to be stocked by supermarkets, only online. However Dolce Gusto seem to have reduced their offering; some of the flavours don't appear to be on their website any more

I've also purchased from au.caffe.com and bought their capsules. they have some tea flavours, but no idea how they'd go as iced tea. You could give them a call and ask them. Good luck!

My Nescafé dolce gusto won't pump water. I have unblocked the jet , water still won't flow, hardly been used. Any suggestions?

Pineappleskip
Pineappleskip

We've foiund the capsules variable, some of the coffee capsules the machines seem to have difficulty pumping water through. You could try running it briefly without a capsule in it. If it doesn't run still, its a machine problem, if it does, it might be an issue with the box of capsules. .

I would check with Dolce Gusto service (which we've found pretty good). If the machine is less than 2 years old might be covered by warranty.

Coffe taste burnt? Got dulce for Xmas present. First cupacino was yummy. Have made several others and they all taste burnt. Coffee also smells burnt as it comes out of machine. Any help?

Dolce-Vita!
Dolce-Vita!

Hi Jane Unfortunately, with these automatic machines we are unable to control the brewing process ourselves, so water temp, brewing speed etc, is all up to the machine and, sadly, it is inconsistent!

Further, the pod contents (quality and quantity - including powdered milk component) can also vary batch to batch..... maybe even pod to pod...... All this affects the cup of coffee you end up with.

There's not much you can do, I think. As you all know, I'm not a fan of these machines and don't own one anymore - I've switched to the good 'ole Italian way - the fool-proof, stove top espresso machine!

It's "pot luck" with the Dolce Gusto machines and the pods.

My advice is - enjoy the good cups of coffee and toss the crap ones!

Or get rid of the machine altogether because it's always going to be like this.... ;)

Mine is the same, I don't like the coffee at all. The cafe latte is the only one that doesn't taste like that to me, but I don't like the powdered milk type taste. That's only my opinion of course. I love the peach iced tea and the ice cappuccino .you have to order those online however. I have tried all the coffee types and they are all the same. The chocolate one I think is ok, but I don't drink chocolate .

Can I put milk in water dispenser?

Dolce-Vita!
Dolce-Vita!

Hi there..... no, definitely do not put milk in the water dispenser. It's designed for water only. You could damage the unit and jeopardise any warranty

Dolce-Vita!
Dolce-Vita!

FYI there are absolutely NO other pods out there that will fit the Dolce Gusto machine. They are a big sized pod and no other company makes that size. Stop wasting your time..... You'll never find an alternative.

au.caffe.com distribute tiziano bonini capsules that are compatible with dolce gusto. We've used their espresso and cappucino capsules and they've been fine. They distribute dolce gusto compatible capsules with some tea flavours as well.

Hi, ours cost us $269 and we brought it from Appliances Online. A bit more expensive than some others but the easiest to use and clean.

Don't waste your time and money - do some research - there are so many BETTER machines out there - avoid Dolce Gusto if you can! From my numerous experiences and based on others' reviews, they're duds!

I love a good flat white but can only drink quarter strength coffee ... would the machine accommodate my weak taste in coffee (using the pods) or is it only for those who like their coffee normal strength or strong? I don't have a machine at present but love the sound of the models mentioned.

Ron
Ron

Hi Backlabrador, yes I love dogs too ! To answer your ? My review was a thumbs DOWN to delonghi products for me they were a WASTE of money & I would NOT buy one again. Hope this helps you decide one way or another. As an Italian I know what a coffee machine should perform like & delonghi does not !!!

Fizza
Fizza

Hi, the only way you could do a quarter would be to leave the pod in the machine and dial it to 2 and add boiled water from a kettle then your milk and you would have about 2 to 3 more coffees out of one pod ?

blacklabrador

Thanks for your answers ... gives me something to go on :)

I don't understand what the bars are for on the pods? I assume they are to tell u how much water to use but there is no measurements on the water tank or no timer so how do u know how long to let it run for each pod?

Shopper2015
Shopper2015

Yes the bars indicate the amount of water and consequently strength of the coffee. For an automatic machine it has the scroll wheel which you adjust to the number of bars on the machine. However for a manual machine, you don't have this luxury and will have to estimate as to when you will stop the machine. This is quite silly really.

My advice is NOT to purchase a manual machine. You can get different coffee strength each time (especially when using different size cups) if you don't stop it at the exact second each time. Also the bars are the recommended strength, if you like stronger or weaker you can adjust the bars to your taste.

Can you add milk to the reservior instead of water

ajsdr

Hi Gail Ive thought about this myself but honestly have not tried it. The only problem I could foresee would be the milk frothing

Julie
Julie

I have not read anywhere if you can or can't add milk to reservoir all I can say I like my machine too much to risk trying it myself.

Ginny123
Ginny123

I wouldnt as I think that by heating the milk it would "bake" onto the tube the fluid comes out of and eventually you would have so many layers baked on it would block up. Expresso machines always heat the milk seperately in a Jug
