Can you still buy parts for the dysonDC20

The hose on my Dyson DC20 has disconnected from the wand and there is no more suction. I tried to open the wand to try to attach the hose again but was not able to. The vacuum cleaner was fully serviced by Dyson a few years ago and it has hardly been used, so I would like to fix it if possible... any suggestions?
My father in law has broken the telescopic wand on his Dyson dc20 stowaway. Will a wand for a different model fit his dc 20?

The DC08 wand handle fits. It's silver with purple extension button. I found one on Gumtree and cannibalised a few spare parts.
I wouldn't bother with another Dyson. My Dyson dc20 powerhead and wand handle broke but Dyson purposely make them NON Universal so they can stop making them and you have to replace your expensive broken vacuum with another expensive one that they'll just do the same on. More money in their pocket. Will never buy another.
Does a pet turbine head fit a DC20 model?
While some Turbine Heads did fit the DC20 range of machines, due to the age of the DC20 range, this machine is a retired model and we are no longer able to provide parts or servicing for this machine.

What other model dyson vac will have a multi purpose head to fit my DC20? Will my DC 20 hose fit onto a DC 19?
While visually similar, the DC20 and DC19 have different hoses, so they won't be able to be swapped between the two machines. We apologise for any disappointment, however parts are no longer made for the DC20 and we have exhausted our supply of parts. The internal tube in the contact head of our DC20 has split in many places and spare parts are not available. Very disappointed in quality and lack of parts. Our other lower cost vacuums have long outlasted the Dyson and perform as well. Nonetheless would like to get a trusted replacement as used parts may have same problem. Are there any new interchangeable heads for the DC20 from another model or do we have to throw it away and never buy again?
Are you referring to the tube that acts like the spinning brush in the turbo head?
This is the corrugated tube inside the Contact head. There is no spinning brush - it is not the turbo head. The corrugated tube has split in over a dozen places and so there is no suction at the head. This happened over 3 years ago and we have been using other vacuums in the meantime but would like to get a replacement to avoid carrying up and down stairs. I do not trust a used head from eBay as it could easily have the same failure. Would a flat-out head from another model fit?

Dear Dyson Team, DC08 and DC20 have the floor head that is shared between the 2 of them. Can you please confirm if part# 904486-19 which is listed for DC08 would fit to DC20 as well?
Apologies for any disappointment, however this head is designed for a DC08 machine. We can't confirm it will fit on a DC20.
Do any other model heads fit on the stick that we can use since you can't buy the dc20 head any more. I have same problem.
No compatible parts - never buy a Dyson. This is a feature designed to fail.
Will the telescopic wand from a dc 23 fit a dc 20
Hi Adrian, Thanks for your question. The Dyson DC20™ had it's own unique wand handle design, and extension tubes from other Dyson machines aren't compatible due to the diameter difference. This machine is also a retired model, meaning that we'll be more than happy to troubleshoot many issues but we're no longer able to service or supply parts for it.

How can I unjam the brush from floor to carpet? It is stuck.

small attachement brush not spinning anymore! nothing seems stuck! pls help?
found it! had to open up attachment brush! Remove the brush ! Dog hair both ends where brush goes in! Couldn,t even c it! Well, working now! & washed my filter at the same time! should be washed every 6 months they say.First time I wash in over 4 years !

I have a Dyson DC20 for the last 5 years. last week when I turned it on it was smelling quite bad and when I removed the barrel it was actually spitting sparks. can this be repaired and what is the reason for this?

Hi, I have long hair and lose alot of it and wondering which head (contact or turbo) for my dc20 stowaway would be better at picking up long hair from the carpet?
Hi there, Thank you for your query. For picking up hair and fibres, we do recommend the use of the Turbine Head. The Turbine Head features spinning brushes which agitate the carpet to remove more dust, dirt and hair.
Please do note, in Australia the DC20 has been retired, and we no longer have parts for this machine, however do have alternate offers.

Turbine head is the worst for long hair it winds around the cyclinder head and cause the head to stop working.. now i have a broken head and cant find a normal head attatchment to fit.Great just like Apple they just want you to buy another vaccum cleaner.It wont be another dyson
Hi, the handle on my DC20 Stowaway has broken and wish to replace the wand but it has been discontinued. Can a wand from the DC23 Stowaway been used there are still some of these left in the dyson shop on line

will the motorised head from a DC23 fit a DC20?

While the head will clip on, the DC20 lacks the electronics to power the motorised head.

My d20 is sucking through the hose but not through the turbine head. I gave cleaned head as best I can and have removed all hair. Do I need a new turbine head? And if so, would I be better off with a contact head?
I have had my d20 for about seven years and have had no other problems.

I have recently purchased a new turbine head for my dc20 stowaway but am having trouble attaching to the pole? Do I need to also buy an adaptor??? The box said it was suitable for a dc20??
Hi Neomi, Thank you for your question. If you purchased this from a retail store, it won't click into the wand of your machine like your old turbine head, however it will push fit without the adaptor included in the box.
