Microwave overheats then stops working. Once cooled down it works again. We are using the provided surround and this seems to stop the airflow exiting which exacerbates the problem. Considering drilling out some extra air vents in the surrounds. Thoughts from Electrolux reps?

We have EXACTLY the same issue.... STOPS completely, then starts after maybe ten minutes. We love Electrolux products, but this microwave is just a dud. Ours is free-standing (no surround.) One star...

Only because there's no ZERO option...

Ours is builtin and there is a design problem which stops airflow and causes the overheating. Since increasing the airflow around ours we’ve had no more problems.

My EMF2527BA shut down completely, no light, no digital display, after reheating food which produced quite a lot of steam. I checked fuses etc but everything was ok. After standing for about 10 minutes with the door open, it came back to life and has worked fine since. Is this some sort of inbuilt protection against overheating or might it be a fault.

I have the same problem. Ours is built in and it seems that teh heated air has no escape as it comes out the front instead of teh back

Is there some reason there is so much steam after heating food?

Hi there my parents are older and they find it very hard to see what buttons they are pressing. Is there a way you can turn the lights on so they can see the buttons or an overlay which is easier to see?

They have the Electrolux EMB2527ba

Thanks

Dan

Not that I am aware of, have you emailed Electrolux direct?

Our lights are shot, too. Missus just reminded me about how WET it is inside, once food is cooked. On our unit, it looks like a series of vents _should_ have been made on one side, but haven't been cut. Could this be a bad batch, I wonder?

Can someone please tell me how to turn the display/clock on this oven EMF 2527 as it lights up the whole dam kitchen. The manual says to press - or + and then off...where is the off button? I have tried the cancel button but to no avail. It is in standby mode when I try.

Thanks Maree

Are you still impressed with it?

I am vision impaired, is the LED display white on a black background (high contrast)?

How many touch buttons are there?

Thanks

Yes, still very happy with the appliance.

The display is high contrast and easy to read, the touch buttons are not back lit.
